Leatherman Wave vs Free P4 | If I could only have 1

Just opened with one hand wearing a glove every tool on my Leatherman P4. That is an amazing design worth every short coming.

I restore old rusty tools and use Evapo-Rust liquid to remove the rust. It is very effective, non-toxic, and contains no acid. You can buy it at Farm and Fleet or other stores. Amazon carries it, too. I have a Free P4. It is fun to use, although I wish it weighed less.

Agreed that the p4 is better overall. It more pleasant to use so I naturally want to carry it over other tools. Also found that I never missed the bit holder like I thought I would. It was like overcoming a weird anxiety lol.

I thought I would miss the bit driver as well. So glad Leatherman came out with this design.

Best option for light rust like that on stainless is 0000 steel wool. Lightly rub and will take rust off and actually polish the stainless. Used many times on multi tools and knives. This even works on chrome. Real chrome, not plastic coating. Sometimes it’s good to use a lubricant like WD-40. Help move the rust around and protects. Rub lightly 👍

Brasso and a q-tip for the rust. Takes no time at all. I like the review, I prefer the wave.
