A clip taken a longer video of Mufti Abu Layth speaking about apostates and how to deal with them. He gives the perspective of letting people be, not killing them for leaving the religion. A refreshing and tolerant perspective.

You know I am one of the muslims but on the verge of leaving and I have 2 young children. What do I do? If you teach the real islam like this brother then watch the impact of ex muslims finding Allah. I used to go Jamaat every week and spend weekends with them spreading islam. Humble people. Lovely people. Today's brothers can't answer anything just change the words and meaning. Islam is a living religion, show the word through actions and humbleness. Then watch the people follow. God show his love and mercy to us all. Inshallallah.

When I came Islam my interpretation of the religion was similar to Abu Layth's. After that other Muslims kept telling me I was wrong & not a Muslim for thinking so, despite the fact that many scholars in Islamic history thought the same way. I've struggled with this for 15 years. Thankfully Mufti's talks have given me peace of mind.

But imo their Islam isn't true, it's really pushed and they just made it very authoritarian and the conservativism just pushes people away (like it did with me). Where do you stand on this? Its a refreshing change, this means, islam becomes just like other religions,ie inspired ( not really from god ) . This open a whole can of worms. Are muslims ready to let people , critically view islam , then leave it, because they realize...its not really from god or allow people to remain muslims , while at the same time accepting that the quran and mohd is flawed, therefore, just like other religions..be open to accepting parts of it and rejecting the other parts. Lots of worms will be jumping out....islam ,might not be ready now, but it has no choice. The greatest killer of islam, the internet..is not giving islam any choice .

@BrRizzy1
@BrRizzy1 3 жыл бұрын
@@painauchocolat7634 there is the law, a lot of which addressed a community living in 7th century Arabia, so naturally has to be constantly reinterpreted for each new context. British law has changed A LOT over the past few centuries as have laws in all countries and religions. Then there are the ethics and Islam's spiritual code as laid out very clearly in many parts of the Qur'an. This relates to believing in a loving and nurturing Creator (rabb) who fashioned us with his artistry (al musawwir) who is pitying (ra'oof) relenting (tawab) etc etc. Then there are the core teachings, such as prayer, fasting, charity and the biblical ten commandments, honour your parents, be faithful, etc and the moral code, do not lie, break your promises, go back on your contracts, do not get angry, be humble, enjoin the truth, forgive all people, enjoin empathy and charity, free the enslaved, be good to neighbours, family, the homeless, those you have authority over etc. etc. That's what we Muslims believe the religion is actually about and that's what we teach our children.

+Harzburgitic I come from Afghanistan. Even before the wars, if you publicly denounced Islam, you were killed for that on the spot. In Afghanistan - even today - leaving Islam does not equate to "joining enemy forces" because you have countless Hindus and Sikhs in Afghanistan who are in the same spot They are not treated as "enemies" and neither should people who leave Islam. On top of that, Hindus, Sikhs and Christians are in the same spot in countries like Afghanistan and Pakistan and sometimes have it even worse because they are mistreated by their Muslim brothers and sisters. But there are not significant number of those who commit atrocities in the name of their religion. That is unique to Islam in those regions. Pls. stop this whole bullshit. Islam inherently has some flaws and we need to acknowledge that. Otherwise change won't happen.

It’s sad that ulamas like him won’t ever be as popular as his more extreme peers. It’s something that I never understood. Even back when I was a wholehearted believer. That being said, I wonder what he would say about people like me. Those who embraced Islam and eventually turned away because we couldn’t deal with the mental gymnastics required anymore.

I'm Christian AND Pagan. I embrace both. My Christianity is of a mystic sort so it does not cling to the literalism of the Bible but instead uses Vivek to find God within myself and all places. I have no problems with Muslims or ex-Muslims. My belief is that everyone should have the freedom and truth to find their own connection. If anyone is pushed to convert to any faith especially out of fear..then it is a false belief...it is not a deep down feeling. You can not fool Allah or what others call God or G_D. God knows your heart..to the very core. Every single human being should be able to come to Allah on his own choice. God is so much bigger than all of us that God never gets offended or impatient with us. God is love...love no matter what. To kill someone because they have left Islam or even talks down about it..is prehistoric!! Do people care that others follow God or themselves? It sounds more like people who are afraid of others thinking for themselves as if a false connection out of fear is any better? Killing someone who also may again come back to Islam? Why violence? Taking the violence as God-spoken when it is human-ego-spoken....believing that God wants people killed because they believe a literal take on a mixing of God and human failing? Separate the chaff from the wheat...everything you see is not good to eat. I come to God...because I believe and I LOVE!!!! there is no fear! perfect love casts out all fear says Jesus.... I have perfect love for God. Killing another person only gives you punishment...more lives to live here in this dimension...karma. God does not bless killers.

Why are we even having this conversation? Let’s make very clear if people decide not to believe in Islam ,they have absolute right to do so.People are not the properties of Islam.The notion that the apostates must be killed must disturb every one and the World must oppose that kind of ideology.This is a serious matter and the West must deal with it accordingly before too late.Just think of it for a moment.You join a club willingly and then you decide to leave. But the members insist you cannot leave otherwise we will cut off your head. Let it sink in.That kind of club will be outlawed by governments immediately.How can we let a religion to take hostage a billion of people?

Rasheed Gillespie clearly you can’t read then.... Quran (4:89) - "They wish that you reject Faith, as they have rejected (Faith), and thus that you all become equal (like one another). So take not Auliya' (protectors or friends) from them, till they emigrate in the Way of Allah (to Muhammad). But if they turn back (from Islam), take (hold) of them and kill them wherever you find them, and take neither Auliya' (protectors or friends) nor helpers from them."

There are so many reasons to leave Islam that you have to address every issue of concern where it could take several years to results of former Muslims returning back. This now more doubtful that all these concerns have been so well argued that most apostates don’t return to Islam.

Apostasy is in imamah law, it's not a tabligh law which never change. Let's check early Arab peaceful atheists like ibn arrawandi and alwarraq, where they killed for apostasy and spreading atheism? No. Ibn arrawandi was known to be very clever, sadly he left Islam but what did altabi'un do? What did the imams of that time say? I'm really surprised that some Muslims believe that we must kill apostates.

Zack Smith I'm talking about things like cutting the hand of the thieves which at a certain period during the khilafah of Omar it wasn't applied, did Omar go against the Sharia? Absolutely not. The only apostates I remember at the time of the prophet were those who killed the shepherds. They weren't killed because they rejected Islam but because they did cause harm.
