From his first album until now, he has clearly shown signs of healing. God has used him in my life and so many other’s. You should really start back with his Mansion album. You should definitely check out How Could You Leave Us from his Therapy Session album. Hate Myself is another heartbreaking song from The Search. Anyway, check some more out. The first line of his song Change: "I don't do drugs, I'm addicted to the pain tho." Nf has a lot to say, and a story that makes you actually listen... "Real" or "All I Have" is a good introduction to NF. "Remember This" and "If You Want Love" are kinda what NF is about along with "Therapy Session" (the song, not the album.) "Mansion" and "Change" (no music videos) tell us more about NF's headspace. And "Story" is a practical defense of 2A rights and cops.

NF, for many reasons is considered an outcast by the hip hop and rap genre. 1) his lyrical content isn't about materialistic things, arrogance, or violent/sexual acts 2) he never curses 3) he's white and mislabeled a Christian rapper 4) Doesn't use drugs or alcohol 5) raps about emotional trauma and introspective thoughts associated to mental health. However, his fanbase is incredibly loyal and committed, and his numbers do excellent... so they have to go out of their way to ignore him.

This is my interpretation of this song. NF is a Christian who doesn't curse or use drugs. The people dressed in black are fighting their demons ( Burdens) and the people in white still have burdens but they are now living with them in the light instead of in the darkness by giving their burdens to God. In the end he is contemplating turning over a couple burdens to God. In the video you see the people in white remove their fake smile because they now can live in the light smiling even though they still have burdens.
@vezon9436 Жыл бұрын
The people in white also have less burdens.

I agree with this. I also think In this video, there are two lines of people in white. So, if you’re going to live in the light, you have two choices. Put on a fake smile and hide your burdens, or pick up your burdens. He’s still in the dark, hiding his burdens, but going his own direction forward, not killing around aimlessly in the light.

As so many have said NF doesn't do drugs and as far as I know never has. He has a line in another song talking about doctors trying to get him on meds to help him mentally but he avoids them (medication). Your perspective on his conversation with Fame is interesting but NF mentions Fame all throughout his music and is pretty clear that he isn't motivated by that, in this song he says "he (Fame) asked me how I've been, I sent him this song" the song is Leave Me Alone, so he's telling Fame to leave him alone. Jumping into this song is hard because NF is one of the few artists you really NEED to go back and listen to his music in order to fully understand his newer music. Great reaction keep reacting to NF please!

One thing you really need to consider when trying to interoperate NF is that each album is a book, each song a chapter. There is a proper context to his work. I hope you do your research on NF before you do another video. Us NF fans know his background. His mother is dead from an OD. He discusses in his songs not wanting to take prescription drugs to deal with his own MH for fear of becoming addicted to them, then leading him down the path of illicit drug use. We listen to NF because we can relate to the words in his rap songs. Lastly, you have to watch his videos in order. They always tell their own stories.

@@olorinmartinez just because a song talks about how Jesus saved them doesn’t mean it’s not Christian. It’s not WORSHIP music, but it’s still Christian and gives glory to God. These aren’t the songs we would sing on Sunday mornings during worship, but it can still be Christian.
@braedynhoward3644 Жыл бұрын
From what I understand, NF is giving up his burdens to Christ. He is a Christian. From listening to a few of his other songs and hearing his story, you'll find out he's strongly against drugs, because his mother overdosed when he was a kid. His struggle is more with mental health and social pressure than with drugs, alcohol, etc. That's why he's so popular, because he covers mental and psychological issues, which in fact is the root of addictions, which in turn relates to more people. Everyone has things they deal with. He points out that Christ is the way of fighting those issues.

NF doesn’t do drugs, and is very against them, because they killed his mom. He’s also turned down “fame” in several songs, and I think everyone who is saying that the text convo is of him sending this song to “fame” as a response, is probably correct, it fits with the running storyline. A previous album had him saying to “fame” to wait til he got to album 4, because he wasn’t ready to talk yet. While he has older music, this is considered to be album 4, so this is his response to that postponed convo. Other than that, I’m loving these NF music reaction videos. He’s not on drugs. He’s a child of an addict. A survivor, Watch “How could you leave us” for context

Michael needs to watch how could you leave us cause then he will understand NF a whole lot more

Without any prior knowledge of NF, I thought that Michael did an excellent job of breaking down the lyrics and video and some of the potential meanings behind them. Great job!

I love Wonder Mike’s take on songs like these. I constantly listen to lyrics in music; thats always the first thing I listen to because surprise surprise…words actually have meaning! 🤯 That’s why you gotta go get SPEECHLESS: Controlling Words, Controlling Minds (🛎️)!

This is the second time you bring up NF doing drugs, please 🛑, he does not do drugs nor does he drink, please watch "How could you leave us" and learn one of the biggest reasons why he does not. Many interpretations can be found, but to understand where NF himself is coming from, go back to the beginning and let him tell you himself with tracks like, Intro, All I have, Mansion, Notepad, and Paralyzed to name a few from his first NF album.. otherwise your interpretations are great, and you will always be able to bring up faith with NF music, looking forward to more from you.

And how could you leave us. God that song shows a side of NF that’s so different and powerful. Angry, broken, sad but forever altered.

So happy that you are on the NF journey. You definitely need to hear his song "Beautiful Addiction". One of my favorites. It's an old one, but absolutely beautiful. ❤️

I don’t think NF has issues with drugs, his mother did. He is talking about his mental health. I find NF refreshing because he doesn’t use profanity and he has a Christian background. He is far more relatable than mainstream rappers in my opinion.

He doesn't touch drugs or alcohol. His parents were hooked on them though

100% agree with all the comments that say you need to take the journey. Guy raps about everything he’s had to deal with in life. And we’re just along for the ride!

Nf doesn’t do drugs. His mom died of a drug overdose. You should really review that song he wrote about it. It’s heartbreaking. It’s called How could you leave us.

He was in foster care - I recommended him to so many of my kids when I was a foster care case manager. His music brought some of my kiddos to tears with how much they connected to it.

Poor Mr. Knowles... he looks so disturbed lol. Exactly how I felt when I realized that the cacophony resounded with the stress inside of me.

Nate is one of the best out there right now. Real hard mental lyrics from a guy who clearly knows and is not afraid to speak out on. Love NF.

NF is talking about what he went thru on his way to God, and anyone who goes through his songs, with a dry eye, needs to check their pulse. Rare artist.

NF doesn't use drugs. Doesn't use profanity in his songs either even when he collabs they don't either. That's why the rap industry discounts him-talks about that in Clouds. He is a good Christian man that is relatable. I love this whole mixtape album

Bro said NF is probably on drugs 😂. He's talking about holding on to his traumas, insecurities, and fears. Listen to How Could You Leave Us.

I want to see NF react to Michael reacting to NF
@awokecon157 Жыл бұрын
Awesome to see another reaction! NF is probably the greatest artist in our time. Which is a surprise to me since I don't even like a lot of rap. But NF is a different person operating at a different level.
