But the list of 5 favorite comedians is excellent - I wonder if Anthony has seen Stewart Lee’s specials and what he thinks about them.

It turns out, Jack Handy’s website was the only place to get his books, and on his website he says he’ll personalize/autograph every copy he sells. See, he had been selling a dozen a month or so for years, and all of the sudden he had to inscribe, package, ship thousands from his apartment. It took him months to catch up. Too funny.

@@williambartholmey5946 I think at this point though that's apples and oranges in most because simply based on what's on streaming/specials, you're getting like 3 hours of actual stand-up per comedian. Apart from that you're not getting it unless you're on instagram or tik tok or here seeking it out at some point. Meanwhile you get an hour-long on-demand video of Bobby Lee & Santino, Normand, or Theo Von, etc almost all 52 Weeks out of the year and some of them are on multiple or release their own multiple times a week.

It was George Carlin who said punching down wasn't always funny. Anthony is just saying a lot of comedians spend more time complaining about what would happen if they told a trans joke but can't even come up with a good trans joke that is funny. It's when you go so far right-wing that your entire stand-up bit is punching down, so much to the point where you're not making jokes. You're just throwing out insults. Kill Tony didn't make any good jokes about PR. They came just off insulting. It wasn't really funny, and the audience was taken aback by what he said.
@keithpantonСағат бұрын
I've always thought you can joke about anything, but if it's going to offend, it's got to be funny enough to be worth it. Just going 'don't Indian people smell?' or 'Don't trans people all look like a guy in a dress?' isn't enough. Unless you're only playing to idiots.
