Damn I didn’t discover you until 21. Love your clips man. I’m a fan of any original music, but I’m an indie rock category. Bedroom pop lol. What you’re saying is so true for any genre

Or expand your horizon, network in different avenues, build special allies to push your independent label even higher. Because def jam, columbia, even companies like Nike etc. They all started at stage 1, they had to first crawl before sprinting.

I think the guy who still runs ovo is mr morgan, who we knew as mr indie vinyl dude from canada! This is when we nyc djs knew bout da tdot pioneer legend maestro fresh wes, than as we broke kardinal, saukrates, choclair, rascalz, etc morgan grew as an exec. I say this to say, if drake decides to let morgan go back to da drawing board & run their system with only a 2 man staff it's OVOly over!!!

Drake ain’t leaving UMG cuz he doesn’t want to die 💀 they will kill drake if dude tried to leave. He’s too much of a cash cow to let go that’s why baby got him in business FOR LIFEEE! when you big at a major label You can’t just walk away freely

question, at some point doesnt everyone have a boss; even at independent arent u working for someone...i agree indie is better, but i think some people think independent means do what u want and it does...it also means u gotta take those hits when it goes sideways... im not hating im just asking...i think u are doing a great thing for people, esp people in music or business

A year later, lol, but to answer, if you're independent, generally you get more creative control over your music, ownership of your master's, and a much bigger share of the royalties (though you likely won't sell as much)

@@feodiente9460 ehhh idk. Guys like Mega and AZ are well off and aren't exactly largely known. MF DOOM may never become super big in America (same with R.A.) but they have fanbases over the world that loyally support. Fame doesn't always equal money, feel me? Once you get that solid fanbase? You keep spoiling them by being you, staying consistent, they're gonna support in return.

I really like Lecrae but he sold out when he signed with Columbia. You can tell that he had people in his ear forcing him to dumb down his message. I hope he gets back to vintage Lecrae.
