Lee is on a whole other level to his competition. I love hearing Jay Cutler describe the first time he saw a truly enormous bodybuilder and how that literally shocked the shite outta him. That bodybuilder was Lee Priest! Jay said that literally NO ONE compared to Lees size, definition and aesthetics. All these decades later and Lee STILL looks a hundred times better than anyone you’ve ever seen down your gym or walking about! Lee you are a @#£%in LEGEND mate!

I literally just came back from backtraining, Im a 53 year old Bodybuilder and since ive always trained heavy, i decided to give my nervous system a break today. I trained a lot less heavy, but contracted and squeezed the shit out of my muscles. I already know my back is gonna hurt tomorrow. Lee is right. FEEL the back. If you lose the contraction, go lighter.
@chrisbaker7302 Жыл бұрын
Good advice man. I see all the same mistakes from people yi described. Lawnmower reference almost made me spit my coffee up. Never used to get sore after back workout, do now. Using good form and feeling is helluva lot more important than going heavy with shitty form. Godbless
@nizzamp Жыл бұрын
it took me too long to learn to drop the weight. i kept wanting to go heavier and heavier. perfect example, i was doing incline db curls with 45's and very clearly not using great form, delts getting in there, too much swinging.. did not get much pump. i switched to 20's, STRICT form, and ROAST my biceps now.
@potentatewags Жыл бұрын
A lot of bodybuilders keep emphasizing that. Even Arnold said don't focus on the weight, focus on the muscle. Get that hypertrophy going. Maximize physique and gain some strength. Go heavy if you don't care about physique and want to maximize strength gains.

Hello Lee, my name is Harold Strickland I am 69 years old now, when I was in the 9th grade we had a weight lifting contest against all junior high schools in West Virginia,the first place winners receive a 1 year membership to the YMCA here in Charleston WV, the after the contest I found that I won the contest all hands down, I trained at YMCA till they closed 10 years later, the Charleston news paper was up in the weight room wanting to to do the bench press for him, I was warming up with 225 lbs with 20 easy reps, I have the picture of that day on my wall at home, look at it daily. After the old YMCA closed down, they reopen the new YMCA, it wasn't the same, I went to other local gym, kept training till I lost my job at that time, so I had to get a low paying job, at that time I couldn't train any more due to low wages, I postponed my train till about 43 years later, after I retired from United Dairy, that's when I started training at home, that was in September 2016, now I am training hard as ever, I will train till my last breath, weight training always been my greatest passion through out my life. I really appreciate all your videos Lee, I all muscle groups twice a week, each body part has a 3 day rest,that works great for me, I am seeing gains every week now, my max bench press back the day was 300Ibs, I would to see me benching that heavy again one day, it takes years of hard work and dedication, we all are gladiators and warriors Lee 👍👍

A good way to understand how to properly dumbbell row is to go do some sets on the old school hammer strength low row - the machine completely takes your arms out of it and really makes you kind of SWING your lats backwards.

Thanks for taking the time to post this content for us to learn from. Can you do one on BICEP, specifically dumbbell work and the various angles, (curling up angled toward pec, curling straight up toward bicep, curling further away angled past shoulder, etc) as well as supinated and neutral grip? I really liked your tip on db flys and angling the db's together at the end for that squeeze. Finding little nuggets like that really helps me hit new levels. thanks, lee. and fuck any haters.

Thanks for this Lee. Simple makes sense advice. Tired of a million new ways to do this and that videos. I'm 52, been bodybuilding for 35 years. I've reduced my rowing range and locked my muscles in before any back work now. And it is the best it has ever been.
@NDemanuele1 Жыл бұрын
Helpful video. The Back is tough to develop - seems that way for everyone. It does come down to genes - at least it plays a big factor.. I have difficulty connecting with it. As you suggested, I do use lighter weight and also emphasize the stretching and contracting. I actually stopped training my Arms altogether because my torso was struggling!...LOL. I do find with certain exercises I can connect better. I find the Incline Bench DB rows helpful. I also do versions of that with cables - like a pulldown facing the machine while seated on an incline bench. Also BB rows I connect with well - Pronated/Supinated. These days I can't do a lot of pullups. On a good day 5, with good form ( squeeze at the top and slow on the negative). Lately, I would superset pullups with pulldowns since I can't do many reps of pullups which helps. Lastly, for years, experienced lifters would say to 'lead with your elbows'. I never quite understood this until recently and it helps. If you have a 'Shit Back' Lee, we don't have Backs at all!!....LOL. You're too Humble!!
