Having a good digitizer is an understatement, and I learned that the hard way. Unfortunately that's not learned from the beginning of operating an embroidery machine in some companies who see videos like these and assume it's simply press and go. It technically is press and go, and I see what you're saying. These Tajima's are incredible. But having a good digitizer is absolutely crucial.

Lee. I have a little issue, not a big one, about saying it is the best. I've owned Tajima and Barudan machines. I have singles and multi's. My lead embroidery tech has over 20yrs doing this and prefers Barudan. I know you get a kick back from Tajima so I'm not unaware of the financial side of this video. It really comes down to preference. There are slight differences between brands/machines, but just like printing, it comes down to the operator. Here's a tip for everyone reading this. Just because a machine can run at 1000+ rpm, don't do that. Stay around 600. Just try it and you'll see the difference in quality. Also, don't buy larger than a 6 head. Buy multiple 6 heads and singles. Time studies show the productivity increases. How? What's the down time of a machine larger than a 6 head in loading, unloading? What happens with one head has a thread break and the whole machine stops? How long is that for down time? With fewer heads, even running a larger run, the time is less because of the reduction in down time. If you have two or three 6 heads, one can be running while your loading the others. Same goes with singles. It's the same reasons DTG pods are able to produce more per hr than the ovals. Just some insights for everyone.

I don't get any sort of payment from Tajima as I said at the start of the video. The reason why I stand behind this machine is because it takes a lot of the training and user error out of the equation. This machine makes it so that it doesn't come down to the operator anymore, at least for the most part.

That's like saying a plane that has autopilot doesn't require a good pilot to be trained and know what they are doing (something I have over a decade of experience in). Yes tech advancements are reducing errors, but it's still up to the operator. I say this because I didn't always have a 20yr operator veteran and the difference in quality and speed is night and day. Perhaps try taking the Anchored Prints approach and put equipment head to head (literally in this case). It again will come down to operator preference. You do good videos though, obviously, or I wouldn't watch.

I can tell you with certainty that Lee doesn’t get paid squat for the review. Actually called him say nice surprise for a Sunday didn’t know you were dropping a video. Anybody who states that a Barudan is better than a Tajima TMEZ is sleeping. The Tajima TFMX and Barudan are a comparable product however the TMEZ is in a class of its own. I have personally converted several Barudan shops to Tajima TMEZ. One that even has hundreds of Barudan heads. Get your newest operator and most experienced operator on the machine and you will see they will put out the same quality of product over several different types of fabrics. If your operator of 30 years experience says the Barudan is better than he is the one getting paid not Lee 🤣

At 50seconds you hear how much tajima paid lee(free machine)...and then u hear lee say how many jobs he has done..over 800..I would say lee has got paid very well....600 speed is lol....we do 800......I have a few tajima machines...I would they are decent machines .Tmar-k1504c was little over 60ty grand..one thing I really hate is tajima was toooo cheap to put longer led light strip..on the ends head 1 and 4 the lights do nothing to help u see were thread is going into needles..if u can afford it get a machine with more heads then 1.. specifically if u think your business will grow.. Do 100 hats on a single head...then do 100 hats on a 4 head..u will see what I mean... Companies like to give free products to big channels on KZbin...tajima probably would have gotten more advertising with paid commercials on KZbin and way cheaper then a brand new machine for free.. Lee sounds toooo much of a salesman in this video....

lol i work in a factory with 3, 8 heads, 7 6 heads, and 4 single heads. I run a 8 and a 6... the 8 is the only tmez.. the rest are tfmx.. oolder ones and the tmez is sooo nice to have.. but yeah.. shit gets looooud.. but its soothing somehow too haha

Hell ya! You'll see it's honestly as easy as I say it is to run. Just mess around with your speeds and make sure you're using a good quality digitizer and you'll have no issues on day one

Positioning feature seems like it's a cute feature. Make a line and learn how to hoop straight. If have lines around inner hoop, you can do it straight. Take a look at an Allied hoop, they have it right.

This has a great positioning alignment system which I use a lot on polos. I paid $31K for it in Fort Worth TX. Would have liked it to show a longer file name. It only shows 8 characters of a file name.

That's a great point that I missed, the short file names is super annoying. There's a way to read the entire file name through the edit screen but it's a lot of unnecessary work to get there

That’s a chunk of change for someone starting up, and even if you do well and want to flip it to get a multihead these things aren’t as simple to sell as a used car. If you find a buyer for your used single head he/she can’t just jump in it and drive it away. So I don’t think this would work for a lot of people just getting into Embroidery. The feature set is awesome though so it’s an ideal start up machine for someone who’s got the money. In my case AU$41K (US$28K) great videos man

Maintenance is simple, just some lubrication points done daily and weekly. Don't really need a tech unless something breaks

Thanks! I typically run at 700-750spm for a solid output, I can definitely run faster on most things but I like to stay in that range. I use a mix of digitizers but I like JA Digitizing best

Absolutely. Taking all of the tension stuff out of the mix makes a huge difference in daily running and training employees. Someone with a few days of experience can turn out the same level of product as someone with 10 years of experience. I'll never get a machine with manual tension after using this thing.

It always depends on stitch count and how fast or slow you run it. 8-15 an hour for most designs would be a good average.

Only in flat bills, but they rub on every machine when using standard hat hoops. That being said, they don't rub very hard and it isn't bad enough to cause any damage to the hat or any sort of embroidery issues. A quick rub with a hat brush and the marks go away.

The M&R machine is just a rebadged cobraflex, never heard a single good thing about cobraflex equipment so far. Heard a lot of good about the mimaki though. I have no plans for DTF yet since I'm not a fan of DTF all together, but I may add one eventually

It depends on the job, different garments and embroidery types call for different backings. You should always have cut away, tear away, water soluble backing and topping in your setup to tackle any job the right way

The number of buttons I actually click is very low to switch from hats to flats, and I am a software engineer by trade. To me, GUI is not always the best interface.

He doesn’t get paid by Tajima. He gets paid by RB Digital.😂 Just kidding. I can’t say who pays Lee for promoting this machine. But what i can say is that Tajima machines are the best. Yes, i have also worked with Barudan, ZSK and the Chinese and Korean Brands (and Melco as well). And in my almost 20 years of experience as a digitizer and 12 as a machine operator, i can tell you that in Tajima is better engineered to produce a quality stitching. I own a 2003 Tajima single head and with a few modifications, that i did myself, it has nothing to envy to the TMEZ. This machine has been around for almost five years and from the very beginning was marketed as a machine that requires no experience from the user. A machine that anyone can use it and make money. This is not true! Like others have said, it ultimately comes down to the operator. You will need some degree of experience to get the best of this machine. So, if you have the cash to buy it. Go ahead and do it. But if you think this machine is going to create quality stitch by itself because that is what Lee, or Tajima is telling you, you are being naive and you will regret buying it.
