I spent so many years of my life under the spell of cigarettes, depression and severe ptsd. Gained my freedom with the help of nature using mushroom (psilocybin) precisely. After my experience with shrooms five years ago every cigarette I lit up tasted like literal poison. I would take one hit and put out the cigarette. I haven't smoked since, no more depressive mood and ptsd. Few doses of shroom experience made a 15 year 2 pack a day smoker quit instantly. Shrooms are life changing. There is no way you can put into words what it feels like..

There is a non zero amount of bugs allowed in food. What this translates to is , when food is being packaged, it will already have eggs laid on it from flies or other such things, generally a miniscule amount of these are allowed in food but not 0. You can find the tolerance rate for some fruits and veggies readily available online-- this is partly why you wash them. Fruit flies commonly hatch from fruits and veggies that aren't immediately washed or consumed for example

Makes total sense to me. Mushrooms release spores, and thrive in decaying environments that are moist. They can often carry eggs grubs and such, as they are perfect hatchling environments full of protein and helpful mircobacteria. If left inside of packaging, you can see how fast mushroom goes bad and is no longer safe to eat. That's because the moisture prompts the release of the spores from the gills of the mushroom fruit and the hatching of any hitchhikers. The spores attempt to grow into a mycelium culture, but fail due to the lack of soil and natural light. This environment is also prone to grow any other fungus that may have been present, which can lead to some interestingly colored fridge experiments. The best way to avoid all this is to buy loose mushrooms as local and fresh as you can, or if limited to store-bought varieties, at least remove the mushrooms from packaging as soon as possible. This will dry the mushrooms out, preventing spore release and any premature decay, as well as kill off any tagalongs that need moisture-rich growing environments. Dried mushrooms can be stored in or out of the fridge, but must be left well-ventilated always to remain fresh and edible. After rinsing off debris, dried mushrooms can be rehydrated in a bowl of warm water for approximately 5-10 minutes before cooking, just a little crispier than if they were cooked before drying out.

This reminds me of a time I was sitting on a concrete wall smoking weed and behind me was a bunch of brown dry dead flowers. I thought of incense, and italian seasoning, and then i said "Yknow, I bet these still smell good!" I took a big whiff, the woody earthy sweetness still had that hint of floral. It turns out dry dead plants still smell good when they arent rotted.
