Your videos have been extremely helpful but I have to say - sometimes I get discouraged and question if I really want to continue playing this game. There is so much too it and it stresses me out thinking of the amount of time I would have to invest to truly play it. Is that a common fear that you hear from new players? There just seems to be so much to do/keep track of and I am not used to playing a game like this.

One of the things I have enjoyed in this game is how streamlined the side quests are. I have this weird impulse to click on all those side quests and complete them. They all seem to flow well with the main quest lines. Love it.

I like that everything for the most part moves forward. Yes some are retrieval quests and back and forth dialogue but they move you forward on the map roughly around where the main quest is taking you

The moment I realized that Mokoko Seeds can get placed in areas outside the map in the black void and that paths were often straight up false terrain/walls I stopped bothering to find them myself and just went to guides. I don't mind looking for collectibles when there is a way to legitimately deduce the location through exploration, but when it becomes a case of 'walking against every wall and rock JUST in case'? Nah.

Completely with you guys, I love collecting these stuffs ingame, exploring, doing everything blind, but I gave up after the first few maps. This game design I hate, when they actively go against the very nature of their game that they created. These hidden "no way to tell" walls forces you to go agains every single wall. Who does that, and also guys creating the guide for us, were they going agains every single wall ingame, and looking behind every shadow?

One additional thing for the UI bit... "Player outline" can be very useful to enable. It _somewhat_ ruins the aesthetics by putting an outline around you, but you'd see yourself much clearer when you are in the thick of a huge battle where a lot of stuff is going on.

It's an MMO. Their core design is that of a job in terms of time investment and daily dedication if you want to do the end game content. The trick is making the grind a rewarding and enjoyable experience (or as much as grinding can be at least). It sounds like your interests in games just isn't compatible with the genre. Which is fine. The majority of gamers don't enjoy Dark Souls despite what online opinion may lead you to believe. It caters to a certain type of player and you just arent it.

Good reason to take it slow, explore lateral, and maybe stockpile resources with a few alts. Leave two or 3 spots open for the new classes of course and save some gold for knowledge xfer. Then turn main into alt.

Great vid, probably one of the best tips and tricks vids I've seen in awhile. Too many T&T vids cover basic things that anyone with a bit of attention can pick up by browsing the game. It's those things that are hidden a few steps behind that initial veil that are frustrating to find information on, but very few advanced vids cover them since they're...well not quite advanced. Super helpful video. As a side note, Roster is not account wide. Not region wide even. Roster is only server wide. A lot of people lost their founder stuff not realizing that stuff is ONLY bound to the server you claim it on (pets, mounts, currencies, etc.)

Another tip: Emoting, for those who dont know; Hold alt and then hold left click and drag mouse You can change what emotes to put in your emote wheel by pressing y - Hope this helps

I’ve played tons of different mmorpgs, BDO, Albion Online, New World, GW2, ESO etc. and I could never get into any of them. I played max 1 week and realized that I truly didn’t enjoy playing them even though the genre seemed to fit every little inch of my wish list, but I just couldn’t get into it. Then this game came along. I was a little scared to try it at first because of the controls, but I gave it a shot and boy am I glad I did. This is single-handedly the most fun I have had on a game by myself in a REALLY long time. I was looking for a game exactly like this. I’m so happy I finally found my game.

I couldnt get into any of the MMOs you've mentioned either, because they suck. I've played wow all the way up until 3 years ago, and it's the only game and now lost ark as well as an old Korean MMOs I used to play that lost ark frankly seems to be heavily inspired by....it's like a mix of the two. Just look up infinite dungeons in dekaron and compare them with chaos dungeons. Gear progression in lost ark is very similar to wow.

i did this test so nobody else has too. i used 19 green Paladin Blessed Aura books on my Striker then went on the pally and ofc not able to use the skill, so then i went to the market and bought 1 green book of the skill used it and now im able to use the skill on my pally and am up to the blue books. :) so i would say dont worry about just using books

the first tip is so important, for me atleast, i wanted to be a full on wardancer kicking boxing style main because i'm a one trick windwalker monk main in WoW but after trying out other classes while getting my wardancer to 50 and ilv420 i realized i really only had the most fun playing the glass on a PvP basis so then i wsnted a new main which also has more skillcap compare to wardancer and my answer was surge deathblade. now im a proud ilv580 surge main soon to be 600 if i don't loose all my 50/50s 😭

I myself I'm lost between 3 classes. Martial Artist, Berserker, and Paladin. Paladin skills for me, are the coolest I have seen in the game, so far. But Madness Berserker seem so nice, although I don't have Madness iet, so can't know. I played Paladin a bit in beta, now I'm trying Berserker. But even if I lose some time, I plan to try all 3, and decide on one.

I advise every new player to no fall into this trap that you see most people doing that is rushing to endgame , the whole game is worth exploring on your own pace People that rush will only be ahead 1 or 2 weeks that doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things , but do as you like if u like to rush by all means do it bud just telling something I've seen many players saying will do cus see many streamers doing it :/ Anyway see y around boys and grils have a great journey :)

So I have a question: Did Lost Ark at some point have the players using the 'base' class before picking a specialization later? It really feels strange to suddenly get that specialization right out the gate. Feels like it was a change made post-launch due to smoothing out mechanics or streamlining things.

Yes it did. Each class started in a different region iirc. I remember playing my Artillerist on the RU server and going through a Steampunk-wasteland zone. Annika I believe.

This is one of the best tips and tricks videos I've ever seen, for any game. I've watched a few for lost ark already and I still learned at least a few things from this video. Also, the production and information delivery was perfect, audio was crystal clear and Codiak went through the script without any stumbling or "ummm's". (there had to have been a script, it was too perfect) I'm gonna check out your other stuff just because the experience from this video was ideal for me, and honestly I could just listen to any information presented this well.

I would like to point out the female gunner. It is loaded with dodges, flips, slides, and jumps. There is the dodge on space, than 2 skill dodges, and an attack that jumps you backward (all before lvl 20) The female gunner is high mobility, high dmg, high area, and moderate tank, can even spec into some debuffing targets for the team.

Did not know about the counter , honestly I never changed armor from the char profile... about a day after 50 I realized I had 2 earring and 2 ring slots. The entire playthrough I had 1 up to date ring and earring and the other was the first one I got at the start 🙁. Never noticed because I felt like a God while leveling.

I wish I had known sooner that in order to min max your character post level 50 you have to make and progress a hundred alts in order to farm certain things because the drop rates from field bosses and dungeons is so low that it is impossible to grind for certain things. I wish I had known that unless you want to sink thousands of hours, thousands not hundreds, into grinding everything you need to min max your character the only other option is spending thousands of real world dollars on gacha boxes for a chance at getting the things you can't reasonably farm. The game is gacha box gambling disguised as an MMO.

Honestly the best thing ive learned so far is that I shouldnt waste time on facetting stones at all, just spam click that shit cause its really just rng and im almost certain i am either extremely unlucky or the % are bullshit, i usually get more success just spamming them and it usually goes like 1 spam is always gonna turn out bad and 2 usually turn out decent to good

Not having gamed in years, I was pulled into the game simply because of the system requirements! There is soooo much here to discover and I am really enjoying it. I need to know what happened to my cards in my inventory! I clicked on them and they disappeared. I cannot see them in any screen. UPDATE: apparently, right clicking a card puts it in the WORKSHOP. I like how the first thing he lists is to play what feels good. Too many people chase trends and metas and FOTM classes ever since paladin became the god class all the way back in Burning Crusade WoW. Crazy how nothing changes, glad that the perspective is finally shifting.

I only played Path or Exile before this but never really quite enjoyed it to the fullest only getting 14 hours in the game before getting tired of it. Maybe it’s because my interests have changed or something but I’m about the same amount of time into Lost Ark and I just wanna keep playing it.

Question : How much time investment needed to really actually enjoy the content? This is coming from a 40 yrs old gamer that probably only have 2-3 hours max per day for gaming.

You can accomplish a lot and enjoy your time thoroughly with 2-3 hours a day. Heck, even something like 8 hours a week is doable.
