Malakai was rough for me. Took me 3x tries. Second I killed Throt, I abandoned the post, sold it to Kislev, and ran straight past Katarina and took Azhag's turf. Then it was a normal campaign, rolling down the line, in the mountains, making friends with the other Dawii along the way. First 2x tries, Chaos just kept full declaring war on me from all sides, I couldn't do much - just like a Boris campaign.

I think one of the only things that could potentially threaten the Thunderbarge doomstack would be Louen's fully pimped Royal Hippogryph doomstack. Anti-large, fast, heaps of ward save and missile resist.

I'm doing something wrong I have Norsca and Chaos including Chaos Dwarves just declaring war on me left right and centre. Just overwhelmed by the numbers of armies I have to fight on multiple fronts. Legend always makes it look easy. Great stream as always

The way to beat the Dreadquake battle without a fast army is to get to tier 3 on Malakai and make The Spirit of Grungni have indefinite time

In my VH/VH campaign with Malakai I did so much better on second run and managed to conquer the entire Norsca and focused on turtling up Kraka Drak region because of Astragoth and Archaon hammering me non stop, Throgg was tricky at the start but he wouldn't recover from first assault. Also I rolled with Slayer Pirates but I might also do Gyrocopters next time, Pirates have great AP pistol damage, but slow reload and get caught in combat they don't have anti large or infantry bonus, also 7 Ammo despite using Master Engineer to boost their ammo.

FYI legend - the reason grimgore is considered chaos dwarf is because the chaos dwarfs created black orcs - originally as a warrior and enforcer race. It was of course a satire of Saruman and the urukhai - and because warhammer originally being satire - this is why it went completely wrong.

His flyer bonuses he gets from adventures make his Gyros stupidly powerfull. Plomp angineer and hero bonuses and they are outright a doomstack. Simply by limiting how many enemies can attack them back.

Oh a weird bug I ran into, but might still work out for people is that you don't need the dlc to get a demon slayer lord. I confederated another dwarf faction that had one, and I got to keep the lord. Didn't play around much with it, so I have no idea if you can recruit them if you disband them or if they get wounded

Not a bug. As long as the AI already recruited them, you could always get access to DLC units through confederations without owning the respective DLC.

I think you would have liked the pre-patch version better honestly. The changes are mostly a nerf for a player that fights multiple battles on most turns+the OP grape shot cannons were a lot of fun.

idk how you havnt been attacked by every chaos faction. i had 7 enemies attacking every few turns, i had to have an army in kraka drak and hell pit just to not get wiped.

Same issue here just overwhelmed by numbers. I'm thinking it must be some bad diplomatic decisions as he hasn't had Daniel attack or the Chaos Dwarves who are on me at about turn 20 with 2-3 stacks. Has to be bad diplomatic decisions but he did say if you are doing too well the AI randomly throes more war declarations at you.

@@George_Rakkas no mods, verified my files on steam with the game as well. I don’t know my spec just got a plain Alienware laptop from 2017/18. Game worked totally fine until now.

Isn't the public order building better than food? Dwarves already have more growth than you can afford to build. Any extra gold helps even if the beer isn't that much. Control is useful too.

The grudge system starts okay but gets to a point where you just have no grudges to get. It is very weak at the moment, and their fix didn't do much to fix it. I literally fought every turn and took at least 10 settlements and ended up in the red. There was just nothing i could do. They need to up the grudges you get. I understand not making it easy, but it has to be possible.

​@hwdja while that's a good idea I don't feel that a player should have to purposely lose territory to combat the racial mechanics of the game.
