Move just inside Manfred's province, raise dead his skeletons leave the zombies, come back across and raise your own dead. Manfred will move north to attack the other vampires. Next turn you dow Manfred and assault/take his capital. Finish up Manfred. Ignore your territory to the left as securing the main vampire counts starting province is higher priority. Once you have the two main vamp provinces you can push into the empire. Also beeline for the free skeleton tech.

I just like to share my strategy when being sieged, the towers are the deadliest weapon of all especially if you got several strong cavalry. I played as Kemmler and was assaulted by one and a half stack of Bretonnian army. Sent my Vargheast to the center to bait all their unit into a clump while all my infantry activate every tower. Then my cavalry make rounds outside hitting from behind any infantry trying to set up ladders. Cycle charge as my cavalry was harassed by archers and horse archers. The towers killed 80% of the enemy and my cavalry mop up the rest. The Bretonnian left with only three units left...only to be caught by my incoming small reinforcement who at that time could easily wipe out their remnant huge army in one auto battle. That singe battle ultimately destroy all the strenght of Bretonnia and allows me to perform a massive counter attack.

I don't know if they patched, but I'm playing on Very Hard and I've played a couple times while following your guide, and Mund almost always comes and razes Altar or Har Kaldra by turn 10. He always runs away if I start moving up there and comes back within a few turns if I start moving back south for Hag Graef. I've played three times and it's happened every time, so I guess I won't be able to follow this exactly lmao. It's still good info for buildings and getting the black ark early and perk allocation, though. Come to think of it, damn near all of my games have panned out almost entirely different except for the Skaven one. I bet CA is watching these and making quick patches to spite you; I'm starting to think that email was fake xd
@alexpeti55135 жыл бұрын
Have exactly the same issue, so what I like to do is attack them first, right after I take care of the rats and the rebellion. Hag Graef usually accepts peace after trying to siege Naggarond. So I take Malekith and sack/occupy both the Mung settlements and then let them rebel and get razed by the chaos stack. Imo they're not worth having early, too much corruption and PO problems there. Usually Har Ganeth occupies them and builds them up so I have them at tier 5 and 3 respectively after confederating them. They're a nuisance to keep early. Malekith with the fire sorceress, 8 darkshards and 10 dreadspears is more than enough to beat 1 mung stack and the garrison or even 2 stacks if you cheese and corner camp!

@LegendofTotalWar: Could you please do a Tyrion / High Elf one next? Also: I second Lightening Lancelot's request concerning LL build. Keep up the excellent work!
@alexpeti55135 жыл бұрын
Tyrion is probably the easiest one, you just have to get an 11-14 stack and as soon as you have that, attack Angerial and then rush the other two settlements in the Eataine province in order to unify it. As soon as you have that and a 20 stack, Yvresse will be invading followed by Cothique. Take care of their stacks and keep working your way to Tor Yvresse. Once Yvresse is gone then it's smooth sailing. Bonus tip, defensive alliance with Avelorn, the sooner the better. They will attack every elf faction and conquer them, leaving you to develop Eataine and Yvresse, two of the most rich provinces on Ulthuan. Plus, once public order has stabilised, probably no one will invade so you can take Tyrion and visit Malekith's mommy. As far as your early game army goes, disband the silver helms and the chariot after you fend off the first Yvresse army and just use 8 archers, your noble and the rest of the army should be spearmen. When Lothern is at level 3 recruit a mage and a couple of bolt throwers and you're good to go for the next 50 turns or so. Good luck!
@ChrisBZ865 жыл бұрын
@@alexpeti5513 Thank you so much for the detailed explanation Alex! I'll definitely give that go as soon as I finish my Hard Mode Thorgrim ME campaign. What traits would you recommend for Lords (Punitive? Ardent? Dragon Willed?), Loremasters (Fecund?), Mages (Entrepreneur?), Noble (Conscientious? Frugal?)? Thanks in advance!
@alexpeti55135 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisBZ86 Ardent and efficient are my favorites in order to save money on upkeep but sometimes I find a trait that interests me and build an army around that trait. Entrepreneur and Administrator are the best for mages. If you farm influence with nobles you can afford to spend 40 on an administrator mage and have her run around Ulthuan and save you money and time on upgrading buildings, plus leave some Entrepreneur mages on Lothern or Tor Anroc in order to boost your income substantially. For Nobles I like Emolient, Conscientious, Resilient, Frugal and Honed. Don't really use Loremasters a whole lot but I think Medic is the way to go. I'm happy to help you with more tips for mortal empires or the vortex campaign if you like, just ask! Good luck on your Thorgrim campaign, it's a fun one!

I just noticed in my first post I said Angerial. What I meant was Tower of Lysean, Angerial should be the second settlement you attack, although I think they changed the map and you can no longer cross into Angerial from Tower of Lysean. In that case, Angerial should be your first target and then capturing/colonising the Shrine of Asuryan.

A better way to start off as DE playing as Malekith on legendary is to declare war on Ghrond right away and take the great arena on the first turn (Be sure to have the fire mage embed into Malekith army and be sure to get burning head/flame storm when ranking her. Also when ranking malekith save his skill point starting at rank 8). Recruit 3 darkshard and gift small treasury to Har garnet each turn but don't gift any on 1st turn. Only use your treasure for recuiting darkshard and nothing else. Ignore the skaven, mainly clan septik since they very easy to beat and never get far in campaign without your help. Make a beeline toward Ghrond capital for the gold mine (continue to upgrade it when able but don't build a 2nd army). On 2nd turn, open trade agreement and use as much treasury as possible to get har garnet to agree to defensive alliance. Move Malekith as close to the border of Ghrond as possible and recruit at least 2 more Darkshard. 3rd turn attack Ghrond and claim the capital. No matter how much troop they have there it very easy to beat. First put all troop at the far left side of the map and have reaper bolt take out the far left tower. While it doing that have malekith hug the far corner of the left wall and repeatedly cast chillwind on the line up ground troop. As this is happening move the fire mage behind the tree near the far left wall within range of the their darkshard. The tree will provide cover and if you angle her right she will take nearly no damage at all while the darkshard waste their shot. After all your wind of magic gone, have only malekith climb the wall and have him engage the archer that still have ammo. Before his climb be sure to move your darkshard close enough to to shoot everyone on the wall. Once malekith is engage in melee on the wall, have your darkshard kill everything on the wall and battle over (Ghrond troop will continue to get on the wall turning it into a firing range for your darkshard making it very easy). After battle, claim Ghrond, build gold mine and continue to gift small treasury to har garnet. Point of this is to confederate her very early and before turn 20 so you can get a 2nd army and a powerful lord who yet to fuck up her skill tree. On turn 4 hag graef prob. laying siege to your capital which is good (ignore rebel that appear at Ghrond, with the defensive alliance, har garnet will 95% of the time take em out). March malekith back but just enough so he can go into ambush stand. If hag see him coming back they will lift siege and raid region instead. Turn 5 move him closer, within the border of great arena and enter ambush. turn 6 engage the hag. Depending on rng, they either stay and fight or flee but if you move malekith close enough during previous turn, they will still be within range of attack. Beat em and they should offer peace. If not it fine since it take to long for them to build another army and by that time the warherd will appear and rekt their region causing them to request peace. From this point on focus on defending your region, farming rebel and invading army for exp and gift treasure to har garnet til she offer confederation (at this point AI can differ between game). I find it that if you have malekith go into ambush north of the great arena and near nagarroth border, the rat or ghrond invading army tend to march into it since the great arena have no wall they usually aim for it (it also a good place that provide good coverage of the area). It also near where rebel show up in nagarroth so you can rush em quick. If Clan septik offer peace be sure to accept it as soon as it is offer since this will get mung to attack em in a few turn saving you time and resources (if it take to long to get peace, there chance they will get mung to join them in attacking you) Once har garnet confederate, depending on AI in your game, if ghrond is still alive within Askrak region take em out or if mung have already raze it, you should focus on farming rebel to get malekith to rank 12 and building up your region. Use the crone as 2nd army and have her farm exp. as well. Once malekith is rank 12 get the leadership skill tree and get all the skill in that tree (you should have enough point if you been saving point since rank 8) to reduce upkeep and reduce attrition. At this point march north to take out mung while leaving the crone who you confederate to farm rebel, secure region and gain exp. After Mung gone march south and take out the clan septik securing the entire iron mountain. Depending on AI, you can achieve all this just a little above 20 turn (can't remember if it possible to get it within 20 but maybe if your good and AI on your side?). From here the game is really easy til late game, however you should focus on claiming hag graef as soon as you can for the mine. DE malekith was my fav. faction (before Nakai, his faction almost broken ahaha, CA please don't fix. Nakai also only faction I'm able to get legendary long campaign victory). I had try many different way to start off as malekith and find that confederating har garnet early and getting morathi afterward make DE very easy early game. Late game with empire and dawf, they need nerf, not fun. Only way to get even ground with empire and dawf is to attack em early which is not possible when you on other side of the world.
