One thing if you DO want to level followers (to unlock the "gear slots" like in the shipyard so you can get eg 50 resources per word quest): Having followers as body guards OR as "field units" (i.e. Give you an ability to use) will dramatically level up that particular follower

7:10 World quests require you to be friendly with Valajar, Dreamweavers, Court of Farondis, Highmountain Tribe and the Nightfallen, as well as being 110. What this means is you want to have levelled in all 4 levelling zones, hit 110, and do the beginning of the suramar quest chain, in order to be friendly with the reputations required.

Thank you so much for this one Preach! It's gonna be great having a general outline of how to progress through the early stages of the expansion in the best way possible. Myself I'm gonna be doing everything. Every quest of every zone, every bonus objective and everything else. Often times Blizzard designs quests and mobs to prepare you for the later stages of the game in terms of mechanics and awareness of certain things and I find it the best way of getting used to a new expansion. So I'll be doing my usual entry-level pre-raid gearing and getting experience alongside all of these other things mentioned above! And whenever my main character settles into the expansion, I can start thinking about alts and potential important roles I might have to fill going forward. Well, that's just how I like to do it atleast!

Eh WoD's launch wasn't too bad. First couple hours were constant dcing but once you got ahead of the mass group of people leveling, you were fine. With people being all over broken isles will mean less lag!

also don't forget that the garrison forcing literally every person of the same faction to the same spot on the same server is what really crashed everything. no other expansion launch was like wod for that reason alone.

Just because you got ahead and were in a different zone that was lag free, it doesn't mean that the servers was stable.

Decided to do a recap of what he said myself: - Log out in Dalaran, legion strter quest is here. - Get Artifact weapon quest, from Snowfeather [horde]. Healers chose the DPS weapon. You can get your healer weapon later. Just don’t put any artifact power into your DPS weapon. Save it for the healer weapon. - Don’t rush to 110. You will have to do skipped stuff anyway. Doing leveling zones will give you flight paths, which are useful for doing world quests (see later). - Dungeons aren’t good XP. Only do if the servers are bad. - Get professions done. - Make sure to keep up with the class order hall campaign. - Every time you ding a level check Dalaran and your Class Order Hall. There will most likely be a quest in one of the locations. - Artifact Weapon. Only use artifact power on your MS weapon. You can put relics into your leveling weapon though. You can re-spec you artifact weapon, but cannot pull artifact power out of it. - You can get second and third artifact weapons at 102. - Level up by doing the leveling zones. You will have to do it anyway to get flying later on. - Class order Hall follower missions. Only do missions the game sk you to do, like complete X of this mission. Don’t do random missions and get your followers on CD when you need them for the important missions. Getting class order hall campaign missions done are of absolute importance. - Once you get to 110. First priority is doing world quests. They give gear, resources and artifact power. They are rather quick. - You can do all the world quest to maximize your gain of gear, artifact power gain and class order hall resources. Don’t do gold quests. They only give a ~80 gold. Not wort your time. - At 110. Also consider finishing the leveling zones. They will give you the flight paths, which are very useful for doing world quests. - Professions. Arrange with you guild who does what professions and patterns. - At 110 also be sure to do Surumar. It gives a lot of artifact power. - At LVL 108 you can start artifact power research items in your class order hall. 5 day missions, so start as soon as possible. Will increase artifact power gain, which will help level your artifact faster. - Don’t do class order hall upgrades at the start. They cost a lot of class order hall resources, and you want to make sure to have enough resources to do your class hall artifact power research. At the very least be sure to have enough class order hall resources every 5 days to do your artifact power research.

So in essence: - Check Class Hall and Dalaran after each level up. + spend Artifact power - Follower mission (103+). Only do follower missions the game asks you to do. Once lvl108: - Do Artifact Power Research Items (in your class hall) - Take 5 days to complete and increase the amount of artifact power you get. - Pro tip: Artifact Power Research Items > Class Hall Upgrade. Once lvl 110: - Do world quests (for each of the 3 factions) - Give access to gear, artifact power and resources. - Completing 4 world quest gives cash reward (+ chance on legendary item). - Ignore world quests that give gold. - Gives flight points. - Go to Suramar + do dungeons. - Gives artifact power equal to APower gained while leveling. - Will open mythic dungeons which drop crucial items.

! Preach ! This is urgently important to be corrected. World quests no longer unlock at 110, they unlock after you reach Friendly with each of the factions of the 5 main zones. This means that because to start Suramar(and get their rep) you need the 4 pillars its actually VERY important to make sure you hit 110 by finishing all 4 zones main stories then jump straight into Suramar. (This was the case on beta as of a few weeks ago if this has been recently changed then i apologies for the false information)

Just a clarification, Mythic Arcway and Court of Stars will not be available on Day One. They are gated behind reputation. Well, techinically, they are gated behind quests which are gated behind reputation. You need 8000/12000 to open the quests that open The Arcway and Court of Stars. That will take you probably two weeks to get as it as rep for Nightfallen is super hard to grind.

The difference we are not jumbled into one zone so it should relieve some of the stress on severs. Doesn't mean there are not going to be any crashed and queues times should be pretty good.

+Obsidian Frost they do a lot of stress testing before every expansion and they've pretty much all been disasters on launch. It's to be expected at this point. Your best bet if you really want to powerlevel immediately is to swap to a low-pop server.

So if i followed it right 1. Logout in Dalaran (above Karazhan) 2. Pick professions 3. Choose leveling zone 4. On every level you gain go back to Dalaran + Class Hall (something will happen) 5. Do only followers class hall missions that are quested 6. At level 110 do World Quests 7. Crafting + Quests 8. Side by side Suramar + Dungeons for Artifact weapon powers 9. Continue Class Hall followers missions

Artifact Research is super important for increasing artifact power gains, but Blizz even said that if you do fall behind the curve your artifact research will start completing in less time to help catch you up to everyone else. So if you do it every time its available it will always take 5 days, but if you start to fall behind it may only take 3 or 4 days to complete. So worst case scenario, if you have to miss a couple days or a week or something for RL don't freak out, you'll catch back up.

unless somethign has changed in the past month since i got my last toon to 110 then world quests dont open up right when you get to lvl 110. you need friendly rep (i believe) with the faction in each leveling zone as well as suramar. so you want to make sure you level in each zone until you hit that rep mark then move on to the next. as soon as you hit 110 go right to suramar.

He said it comes as a consumable item, and to just bank it or equip the class spec wep you want to level and then consume the items.

You can get both right at the start. Then just make sure all of your artifact power consumables are used with your MAIN SPEC weapon equipped. Preach recommended saving all those consumables until max level to use with your MAIN SPEC weapon, as the artifact traits you unlock while leveling aren't super important during the level up process anyway. You can of course just equip your healing artifact whenever you get a consumable and then use it, but for safety's sake you should just wait and use them all at once with your healer artifact weapon equipped. Hope that makes sense! :P

Quick correction, you need to be friendly with all of the normal (non-Wardens) reputation groups to unlock World Quests... not just Suramar/the Nightfallen. So if you haven't, you really should go to at least the Pillars quest (each is a dungeon quest) to get those reputations. Also pretty sure the Artifact research thing is now scaled similar to Artifact leveling where the first few are quicker (like a day) and the further you get, the longer they take.

Your first part is correct, however artifact research will always be 5 days if you start at launch. The research is only quicker if you fall behind the curve too much to then help you catch up a bit!

I have read somewhere that although most artifact resources are consumables, there are a few that are not but instant instead. So healers that can do some dmg like paladins should go ahead and choose the silverhand rather than ashbringer. I could be wrong though

Just one quick thing to add! You dont automatically get world quests unlocked when you hit 110 anymore ! they changed that over the course of beta. You now need to have friendly with all the Broken Isles factions, that includes Surumar.

The rather insane amount of farm and grind required for the artifact weapon upkeep has me rather worried about the expansion. Does this mean by the time I hit level cap I need to have decided what role/spec I want to play for the rest of Legion? I only ask because it seems any sort of secondary spec will never be equal to your primary spec until well after progression has completed, and the sheer amount of hours involved in maxing a weapon means an alt would be out of the question.

Did Preach mention, that World Quest are now available simply when you hit 110, but when you get Friendly with ALL factions, INCLUDING Nightfallen, the Suramar rep ? That means you have to finish majority of the quest in each zone, then some introduction to the Suramar.

Fire works very well at low gear now with enhanced pyrotechnics. But you anyway have around 40% crit with begginer gear at 110 if you focus on getting crit.

The achievement part that you can do in Legion unlocks faster ground mount speed. They'll open flying later in another patch and it'll require this achievement and something else that we don't know about. The achievement will be here at launch and you can work towards completing it to unlock faster ground speed across all your characters

i was absolutly powerleveling my mage, and it took me almost all 4 zones and 2 days time. Idk how you do you in 2 zones and 1 day. Mythic ready gear after 1 day? Getting to 810 took me 3 days and thats for heroics only.

You can only do the world quests if you are revered (or honored?) with all factions... and thus all zones. I found you need to do a lot of the zones before you can do the world quests.

Hey guys, just a quick question. As a resto shaman should i go for Herb/Alchemy or Mining/blacksmithing any thoughts would be appricated

herb/alchemy will give u more useful procs for shaman... I mean as a shaman with bs/mining you can make money by selling gear you make but other than that it is most likely useless for shaman

probably herb/alchemy be better in case your raiding mining/blacksmithing if you are going to gear a plate class

If you want to craft armor, leatherworking/skinning is the combo. Not mining/bs.

Any thoughts on the 250k ring for levelling? Do the big stats and extra portal help out enough to justify the price?

hey i didn't really get to much into PVE in WOD so i didn't acquire the legendary ring but im very keen to raid in legion is the legendary ring going to be core for the first teir of legion raids or am i going to be fine without it ?

As a casual-pvper who will NEVER group PVE, is it worth it for me to follow this guide to upgrade my artifact weapon specifically for some BG/RBG pvp? Or can I just PVP and be okay?

Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the quest(s) but I thought there were 1 or 2 that granted artifact power as a quest reward and they applied automatically when you complete the quest?

I think you are wrong about logging out in Dalaran. The Dalaran that gets moved to Broken Isles is an instanced Dalaran. If you log out in Northrend-Dalaran you will be in the wrong place (I tested this in Beta yesterday). Best place to log out is Cleft of Shadow in Orgrimmar where there will be a portal to the correct Dalaran when Legion opens (Mage tower in Stormwind for Alliance maybe?). Otherwise, good guide.

World quests at 110 are a priority, so do every zone till you reach at least friendly. This means I skipped some quests in every zone. It's a better method.
