I'm aware in hindsight that the mic was slightly too close. Also, I went too far with some lighting improvements in the new studio, which is why metallics aren't showing enough sheen. I'll fix it over the coming week.

"Sensei Wu" has been "Master Wu" since the Ninjago Movie came out in 2017. Since then the Ninjago TV show has adopted many aspects from the movie starting with season 8 Sons of Garmadon, including the new hair and face designs, Destiny's Bounty, Lloyd's new Chinese Dao and of course, the title "Master Wu". I have never read anything about LEGO stating renaming Sensei Wu to Master Wu just to appease the Chinese market so it's just speculation and one that contributes to demonizing China and the Chinese people. If they truly wanted to eliminate Japanese elements from Ninjago then they would have to get rid of the ninja, kimono among many other things. Changing the title from "Sensei" to "Master" is actually quite irrelevant especially when the cartoon and marketing material will all be translated into Chinese anyway. Also yes, businesses will always do what they can to make as much profit as possible. Despite being a Danish company, LEGO caters quite a bit to the American market. Just look at how many sets are American-centric. Most of the skyline sets are of American cities and structures. The whole modular series is based on mostly historical American periods. Not to mention all the signage in English.

Sensei Wu was actually known as Master Wu since season 5 of Ninjago, which came out 2 years before the movie.

I'm Chinese myself and i dont think it's a political decision to change Wu's title. For one, Im not really into anime and stuff but a ton of my friends love anime and ninja and all that, they're super popular in China. If lego really changed Wu's title for political reasons then imo that's an overreaction. My guess is that Wu is a very Chinese last name while Sensei is very Japanese, so Sensei Wu sounds to Asians as Monsieur Hindenburg would to Europeans, and this is a correction of previous cultural mix-ups. And of course since it's hard to change the names of established characters, changing the title would be the easier way to go about it

SilveR's Channel the directors did explain that they changed it at Hands of Time so their mostly western audience can understand it, which is kinda stupid since I’ve watched this show since I was like 7 or something, and I knew sensei was basically master.

That actually makes sense. Native Japanese syllables don't even include "wu", but have all other vowels with "w".

I love the fact LEGO has been bringing back knees on mechs lately, it's a fantastic decision I hope lasts since it objectively improves every set they put them in. The Legacy line especially just has me excited, and I feel the mechs this year are some of the best. I'm very much looking forward to the review of the Legacy Thunder Raider when you get around to it. That set just screams EXO-Force to me, and given I've been wanting to see EXO-Force style mechs for a long time, that one gives me the nicest kind of nostalgia.

I would say $40 for this mech is near perfect, especially compared to other sets like the Mandalorian AT-ST raider that has 10-20 more pieces and $50...this is definitely much better(in price). However, I do acknowledge licensing themes have an influence on set prices and this is a lego original theme.

New Brick Productions another thing I like is how it feels £40 worth of a mech. Sometimes, the no. of pieces doesn’t matter if it can do what it’s supposed to do. That’s another reason I love those new marvel mech sets that only cost £9. Lego is loved by many, wether rich, poorer to an average family, adults, children. What I like about those £9 mechs is that it allows those without a bug allowance or not allowed many toys (especially expensive ones) to have a mech set for a cheap price that’s just as cool.

It's good to see and hear you back on reviews Jang ! I have just ordered this set today and as I am in haste to receive it I wanted to watch reviews of it. I have watched four of them among those available on YT, but eventually and as always, the best is yours! More clean background, image, sound, and more than anything you do it all with no abrupt or jerky movements, your hands don't take too much room on screen, your words and vocabulary are various, you made all that is possible so that the set looks good, the image or the stuff you talk about is not moving or wobbling at any time. In a few words your work on reviews is better and better, if not the best IMO. Sincerely, it's good to see and hear you again after those troubled and doubtful past weeks for you. Now I am completely convinced that I made the good decision buying this Ninjago set, I like it better than before watching your review. Great comparison from old to new ( Legacy ). The addition of a knee joint is the final nail in the proverbial coffin. I'll definitely purchase this set and now my kids are old enough to enjoy the playability and look of this mech. Also, the addition of standard legs on the soldier and a more detailed back side are welcomed upgrades from Lego and I appreciate the designers for doing so. Thanks for the hard work a s continued effort on your videos.

I've been seeing this set all over, and finally picked it up the other day. It's pretty darn good. It looks great, and the price point is good value compared to many other recent Lego offerings. I wanted to comment on the Lloyd's green titan mech elsewhere on this channel, but comments were disabled. I'm thinking about getting this set again for the ratchet joints - to use to articulate the legs/knees of the titan mech. I think they should be sturdy enough to support the weight.

They definitely don't seem afraid to put specifically Japanese stuff in this line, there was an entire season of the show dedicated to the Oni. I think the change from calling Wu 'sensei' to just 'master' might be because that's easier for kids to pronounce, and keeping stuff vague might be a way to avoid accidentally being offensive or something.

My revenue drop was similar. Absolutely devastating. I am fortunate that most of my viewers are actually 13+ (see the poll on my Community tab), and also I do not deliberately target younger kids. Based on the rules, though, I believe most of my older content (with only the LEGO, not me) needs to remain marked "for kids." So, that's over 4,000 videos from 10 years with no comments, no mini-player, no playlists, and almost no revenue. I have changed my style, though, to attempt to more strongly reinforce on screen that I am an adult speaking to primarily teens and adult fans. I don’t like the color direction they went with Kozu. He used to be all-red and really stood out that way but they’ve transitioned to less red and more black during Day of the Departed (which didn’t look bad at all, nice palette swap) and finally this boring, mostly-black with red prints style.

Very informative review, JANG. I am loving studio C and this new style of review. My personal thoughts of this though are not that highly, First of all, having just rewatched season 2 very recently, Lloyd's Golden mech is actually very thin and flimsy, the original in it's size and overall proportions was much more accurate. As well as the Kozu minifigure, I do not like it at all, the original General Kozu had an all red color scheme with hints of black, inverting it just doesn't work for me, the old was much better. As a stand alone set it is fine, I wouldn't mind picking this up on clearance for maybe $25-$30 which is probably what I'll do
