Great video! Thanks. I’m in Canada with this machine. Where did you get the fittings to plum it in? I went to a plumbing store and they said the hose wasn’t “regular” so would need special equipment

Hey Kyle. You said you were replacing this machine. With the same one? Or something new? Also, is the new low flow setting the only noteworthy change with the v3? I’m thinking the one advantage of the programmed low flow option is that i could steam milk at the same time.

I purchased a Bianca about a year ago based largely on your channel. I have been completely satisfied with every aspect of ownership. I have not had any issues with the drip try leaking or losing the anti-vibration tabs. An auto on/off feature would be the only upgrade I would like to see. Can’t wait to see what they do with V3 and I certainly hope the acquisition by Breville is positive. It would be tragic if they ruined everything that makes Lelit awesome.

Spooky! I had the Sage (Breville) Barista Pro but just could not get it to work for me so I sold it in December 2020 and bought a Lelit Bianca and a Baratza Sette Wi which works really well. When I bought the Bianca it was easily the cheapest way to get all the functionality - PID, dual boiler, rotary pump, flow control. For home use I find the quality more than adequate and I have had no issues in 16 months. Ok, I am the only one using the machine so probably averaging 3 cups a day. I do find the drip tray awkward to remove and replace so I keep a small cup in the tray and just empty that more frequently. Love the videos so please keep them coming 🙂

Thanks for the very informative video as usual. Considering the Bianca v3, the fact is that prosumer machine with flow control and at least some electronics (auto turn-on, deactivate steam boiler), are pretty rare. The ECM/Profitec counterparts lack features even if they are built better (and more expensive). It's still the value king of prosumers' espresso machines.

Owning Bianca for a year now, no leaking like Kyle experience so far. Im using only a single boiler and it heats up the machine approx. 10-15min. If dual boiler is enabled, it does take 25-30min. Speaking of, the experience with the machine is just mind blow straight from the unboxing journey where it all begins. I hope mine will last me lifetime with a good care, it is the perfect every morning buddy companion. A tip before i go, use wood oil from time to time for the wood parts and replace the water filter often to prevent lime scale build-up from magnesium & calcium, it leads to shortening life of this beauty. Think of you heart and arteries clogged with cholesterol.. take care of your machine heart!!

I concur, been an owner of the Bianca for 18mths now, first year using the external water tank and second six months using it plumbed in with a BWT magnesium filter and paired it with a eureka grinder. Love the bianca, it’s been 100% trouble free with consistent operation in both water feed modes. It’s also such a talking piece in my kitchen when visitors see it and I just love the whole morning process of extracting my coffee using what feels like a mini steam engine with the valves and levers, etc! Totally amazing for an engineering geek like me!

Very good video, I just bought a (Lelit Bianca V3) big parts because of your channel, for my mom to replace her (Rocket Mozzafiato Type V) and it is night & day difference! I love that I can go full manual if I want when I go to her house, or I can just program a good "one size fits all" pre-infusion setup through the LLC and let her do her cappuccino without having to do anything too complex. Hey it's already good I got my mom to do the whole puck preparation after 2 years. She does cheat sometime and don't always use the scale or skip the WDT Tool (-_-). At least my GF doesn't skip any of those steps on my R58 hehe, I think she wants me to be proud of her. I agree with you that something high-end manufacturer still don't understand even if it's super obvious and it makes you think they are doing it on purpose... is why the F do they keep building the machine with the worst possible shower and gasket or baskets when it would cost them nearly nothing at wholesale volumes to buy quality IMS Shower even if not Nanotech, IMS Basket and Cafelat Silicone Gasket. It would set the first one wise enough to do it, way ahead of all it's competitor but if it's like if they all spoke to each other and some espresso mafia said not to do it or they will blow up their factory. Anyone with an ounce of brain would replace these things like day 1. I did see that with the V3 version of the Bianca and MaraX, Lelit did partner up with IMS so I was hyped to see we would finaly get quality content but huge disappointment again... yes they give you 2 IMS basket but like the sh*ttiest IMS you could ever find! Like barely any better than the stamped chinese crap from other companies. Then you would think they could at least put a goddamn IMS E61 shower or a 5$ silicon gasket on a 3700-3900$ machine but nope, they had to keep the rubber garbage to save 1$ and the stock shower to save 30$. If you're being that cheap, just ******* raise the cost of the machine of 31$ and include it already!?! As for the LLC while I agree it isn't the most intuitive thing and having to use the "-" button to change menu is a pain in the ass, it is still 20x better than the one from my (Rocket R58 2019) which is the worst POS made by humanity! When you've been 3.5 years on that crap, you aren't allowed to complain with the Bianca V3 lol. I would switch my whole machine for that one anytime. Now sure it's not perfect... why super cheap crappy appliance can have simple stuff like Auto-Start&Shutdown but some 5x more expensive machine can't even do it is beyond me in 2022. Yes we can buy an external power bar but as you said, we shouldn't have to at this price range! At least the power button isn't a 50¢ toggle trash like Rocket use which break after 1-2 year only just from flipping it once or twice a day! Both my R58 and my mom's Rocket had the switch break. Some Bluetooth connectivity with a real good phone app would be pretty cool to if you ain't gonna improve the unintuivive onboard LLC.

@@user-bdpdfom None - I love it. I think if the prices are close now, I'd be tempted to spring for the Decent, but that's not to say anything bad about the Bianca, and I think the V3 looks fantastic. Lance Hedrick just reviewed it, and it's an incremental upgrade, but a good one.

@@jbstans I’ve been waiting for his review! Seems like a common theme between him and sprometheus was not being fans of E61 machines but making an exception for the Bianca. Happy to hear there’s no regrets on your end! I think the Bianca still wins in the ritual department, even if the manual flow profiling makes it a little less consistent - but maybe that daily attempt to ‘nail it’ is part of the fun. I go back and forth each day, but I’m also afraid of the rabbit hole the decent would send me down LOL plus the better accessories/tactiles of the bianca with the price difference helps make the decision easier (ask me again in a couple hours though haha) Thanks for the follow up!

Hi Kyle, I have had my Bianca for just under a week (I ordered it the day before this video came out). I traded up from a Breville Barista Express and I LOVE IT... Watching this video just confirmed my decision was a good one. The V3 isn't available in the US yet, but because of it, the V2's are discounted by several hundred $$$. You have a very pleasant way of explaining things, thanks a lot! You won yourself a new subscription ;-) And yes, I am currently waiting for my _ECM Synchronika_ to arrive next week ;-) I like your Lelit as well but always wanted to own an ECM for years. As a total beginner, I will start without this _Float Profile Valve E61_ of ECM that is also available, just because its face does not match the newer style barometer optics newer Sychronikas are coming with. Technically, they are great but I will wait for the newer matching look. I totally agree on bottomless portafilters, would have loved to have one directly from ECM coming with the Synchronika - and the ones included are made of chromed brass, not of polished stainless steel. You see that even companies like ECM _are_ in fact ”cutting corners“ to stay at ”reasonable prices“ even in this high price tier ;-) And they were right because I went right away buying the additional needed stuff as well. Yes, espresso (machines) seem to be some kind of addiction, I am afraid ;-)

I would buy the Lelit if I had known about it 3 years ago. Instead I bought a refurbished Bezzera BZ07. I have thought about selling it and replacing it with the Lelit but when I replaced my Rocky grinder with the Niche I began to really hone my brewing craft and realized one day that I can't even get a better cup of coffee anywhere in Pittsburgh. All my friends are amazed at the coffee I make. The thing I love about the Bezzera is the electrically heated brew head which means a 10 min heat up time in the morning. I still like watching videos about the Lelit and it seems to be about the best bang for your buck out there. The moral of my comment is to make a good quality grinder you first priority and focus on your recipe and technique for crafting a good cup of coffee. Then you will be better able to appreciate a machine like the Lelit Bianca.

@@chris9650 Which, in a month-old acquisition, is probably a fair assessment! My (fairly uninformed) view is that there is actually a potential great fit - keep Lelit as the prosumer "coffee customisation" brand, Breville as the consumer "coffee automation" one, and cross-fertilise technologies (e.g. replace the LCC with a Breville-born interface). Whether it goes that way... we'll see!

I live in hope. Since you are a lever enthusiast - mind if I ask you for an opinion? What do you think of the ACS Evo Leva? I believe the machine overheats the brew water because in the US, boilers have to heat up 1 at a time. So, the brew boiler over heats then shuts off while the steam boiler heats up. Since the brew boiler overheated, it will cool down to brewing temperature while the steam boiler gets to temp.

I just had my one year anniversary with Bianca, and your experience when I was comparison shopping was a big part of my choice. My experience with her has been similar to yours, with the same likes and dislikes, and the pros far outweighing the cons. I still think it is the class of the field in the $3K range, but I would ask you if machines like the Profitec 700 and ECM Synchronika, when modified with flow control, perform at the level of the Bianca. Will there be an upgrade for me someday? Probably, but for now I am focusing on upgrading my grinder and building my own skills. Thanks for the great review!

So glad you agree. I’d upgrading I’d look to something outside of the E61 group head class but the Bianca is a machine that really isn’t needed to be upgraded from.

@@KyleRowsell Agree, Kyle! Having a Bianca is like having a BMW with a manual transmission-well engineered, does everything well, and a joy to operate. Technology is slowly moving beyond the E61, much like 6-speed manuals are now replaced with computerized automatics that can do the job faster and easier. If the Decent ever gets a rotary pump, I may be enticed, but for now the Lelit owns my heart.

What's funny is that in a certain sense, the Breville Dual Boiler is *more* of a prosumer machine than the Bianca, with sub 5 minute heat up time for the espresso and thermal stability that is in the same class as the highest end saturated group machines. This technology in a body that isn't an eyesore and isn't twice as big as it could be because it's recycled from the Oracle Touch could sweep up a lot of the espresso market.
@KyleRowsell

Hey thanks for watching! While I agree the BDB is amazing, Features don’t truly classify prosumer. And while the BDB is great, it lacks the build quality of a commercial product using metal parts and commercial pumps. Doesn’t mean I don’t love the BDB. But it’s not classified as prosumer 😄
@Killand8
@Killand8 2 жыл бұрын
A feature set is not what defines a prosumer products. I think the easiest way is to look at warranty. Lelit products warranty is 2 years for consumers and 6 months for non-domestic usage. So it's suitable for both professional usage and consumer usage. Breville warranty doesn't cover commercial usage. The warranty is an easy way to try to assess the duty cycle of the parts and robustness.

Greta video. Lelit Bianca is still on my list as my next espresso machine. I’m worried about the Breville acquisition as well. I better buy my version 3 asap.

Auto timer: I have a 20USD smart power point/socket. By that I can integrate my machine into my smart home. Have my Bianca use geofencing... whenever I am in 30mins away from home, in a certain time frame - Bianca switches on :) (I would not like to see a bulky solution of this from a company that makes excellent espresso machines. that would end up in LCC kind of solution;) ) I am a happy owner of a V1 upgraded with V2 LCC, all I keep upgrading is my grinder. Bianca is really a sweet spot for most of the enthusiasts! (IMHO) thanks for the vid!

I am just looking at espresso machines now. When I saw they were Breville owned, I moved on. Your descriptions of the manufacturing issues confirms my concerns. I came across ECM and Profitec and heard nothing but positive comments about the build quality. The price of the top ECM and this Breville is the same here in Australia, so for me Breville just doesn't get a look in.

My IMS shower screen is just super clean. Thus making the water the drip tray not that gross if it does, inevitably, leak for you. ;)
