The manga doesn't show it, but they tell us that Mirio's fight lasted a total of 15 minutes. The last 5 of which were spent quirkless. He kicked Overhaul's ass for 5 straight minutes with no quirk That's how good Mirio is. best boi

Overhaul actually is really strong, he has an above average pain tolerance, extreme reflexes plus he has incredibly good judgement. I can't remember who but someone said that he is the strongest member of the Yakuza but since he has his germaphobia he hates to fight especially since he has to touch people.

Another cool fact is the song that plays during the fight is actually all mights theme called "light of hope". So in this scene they directly put mirio as a hero with a sacrifice on the same level of all might

his quirk is strong becus of his own hard work too. Mirio is the reason tht quirk OP as hell. Like he knws exactly when to phase in and out of his quirk in mere milliseconds and tht takes alot of skill and training from him and is able to use his quirk at its highest potential.

@@Buckheimer that's a quirk AllForOne wont even bother to steal, like wiht best jeanist, he said earlier that he was facing much worst than intoxication on a daily basis, he was talking about his quirk, if he phase out his eyes, same thing for every body part, his lung and his hearth are always turning on and off, im agine how bad he must feel using his quirk, and he can die from his own quirk at any moment if he make any mistake

Overhaul's quirk isn't that op.....he's basically like mirio..trained his quirk to the point where he can just bring people back to life. And he is phisically fit and agile, mirio too pointed that out , saying he's much more that just a Yakuza thug.....He also has incredible durability.....Due to the fact that he is a germaphobe makes him tick off at times.

@@givemeoats not completely, we know that for Mirio to fight overhaul..he needs to be on ground which means he has to keep his legs unaffected and arms unaffected from his quirk whilst fighting. Kai not knowing more about Mirio's quirk puts him at a disadvantage.

I highly recommend reading this in the manga the fight terrible with cut frames they did that because of the movie which honestly could've waited and some contest Lemillion fought ten minutes with his quirk and 5 minutes without his quirk like a beast

Bruh the manga literally only has a black space for those cut frames. It sucks but at least in the anime there’s something. The only we get from the manga in those scenes were the dialogue about the fight lasting a certain time, which the comment section will likely inform them of anyways like you did just now.

There’s some behind the scenes tidbits about this episode/the animation quality of the season that I think you two should know. First off a lot of manga readers were really disappointed with this seasons overall quality, I think it’s fine but noticeable at times when compared to other seasons. The big reason for the dip is because Bones, the studio that does MHA, was working on the MHA movie Heroes Rising at the same time as the anime. They also had some very talented animators working with other studios on Fire Force and Carol and Tuesday at the time. They also switched animation directors but I don’t think that changed that much. I heard that this season had a pretty healthy production schedule but I guess the lack of talent had its effect. I don’t really think it does any good to dwell on stuff like this, just enjoy the season for what it is. Anyways Mirio GOAT, save Eri, whoop his ass Deku!

I try not to get wrapped up in all the negative, I’d rather choose to stay thankful that MHA gets season after season of quality adaptation.

I guarantee you that those people weren't really manga readers since Mirio's Quirkless scene was nothing but blank panel with couple of texts in the manga, not showing Quirkless Mirio's fight against Overhaul whatsoever. Then later towards the end of the next arc, that specific chapter was so rushed since the mangaka didn't have enough time.

Not really, the decision should not be made by Nighteye, he thought that choosing Mirio was a better option and even the director Nezu also told him that he was one of the most promising students of the UA, but All Might saw extreme potential in Deku, because even without having quirk during his 14 years of his life (compared to Mirio who only had his quirk removed at 17 or 18 years old?), he already had the spirit of self-sacrifice, seeing how the young bakugou was in danger thanks to a "slimy" villain, and even with some professional heroes around (who did nothing, other than wait for other heroes) Deku ran to save him even knowing that he had no chance of winning. In my point of view, Deku does deserve the OFA ... and by far. Mirio is great too (he's a gorgeous hero), but he doesn't know what it feels like to have the pain that Deku endured ALL HIS LIFE and also, Mirio will get it back thanks to Eri, we all know that. XD

Deku is great and is definitely worthy, but the real reason Mirio didn't inherit it, as All Might himself says "Before I met young Togata, I met you" . The "pain" Deku went through doesn't need to understood or experienced, it was just lucky All Might was quirkless when he got the power he felt bad for Deku and passed it on to someone who he saw as exactly like himself.
