I really like this version. because of the lo-fi sound reminds me that Neil is human and fallible. Literally every song in Spirit Phone is perfect. It is transcendent. hearing a form of it that is only human gives me hope i too can create something as beautiful as what Neil has made.

to inject some more humanity into it for you: spirit phone is "perfect" because neil was working on it for like 5 or 6 years, and when it was finally released he hadn't put out a full album in about 8 or so years. his earlier albums are extremely good while still being lo-fi, and he released about 1 a year at the time, so the only reason spirit phone has such high production value is the combination of both his experience and just how long he spent perfecting everything. if you haven't already, check out some of the known demos for the tracks on spirit phone, they sound a lot closer to stuff like this
