My rabbit's story: One day I was knocking door to door for a school project , then we went to one house and in the bushes a little rabbit's head stuck out it took a few minutes but I finally caught it . The rabbit was in horrible shape it had patches of fur and matter fur ,the next day I went up to the house and asked the homeowner if it was his rabbit he said yes it was and that it was alone so it escaped but he never tried to catch it and only fed it carrots so then I asked him if I could keep it and he said yes at first I did not know anything about rabbit rabbits and I fed it carrots but then I came across Lennon the bunny on KZbin so I bought hay I , then I had to heal his patchy fur so I went to the vet and they diagnosed it as fungal infection so we bought a fungal spray and in a few months it healed complety . Today he is 2 years old and on a proper diet but he does have seizures but rarely , the vet said that if it isn't happening too often or for too long it shouldn't affect his life . His name is dusty

Free roaming is seriously one of the best things you can do. At first, our bun wouldn't let us touch him (he's a fuzzy so it made grooming ... difficult). Incorporating him into our daily routines really helped us bond with him and now he's a total attention sponge. People think of bunnies as timid animals, but they are the complete opposite when they feel comfortable in a space.

Lorelei, I loved this video! So many great ideas, this is what I love most about your channel. I’m a 60 yr. old woman who got my first bunny for my daughter when she was 7 years old. My daughter is now a Junior in college sand I am the bunny Mom to our second rescue bunny. My bunny lives in an X pen at night and is free roam during the day. I believe that she was abused before we adopted her and she continues to be cautious, but has come along way. I always worry about ways to stimulate her and I got some great ideas from this video! I've been doing scattered feedings for my bunnies at night since forever. Watching a bunny channel from Japan, I saw a mat that I have been wanting for years, but haven't been able to find. It's called a foraging mat. I'm sure you've seen the ones made from fabric, but Peanut loves to chew on fabric. I didn't want to invest in a fabric one and have him chew it up and end up in stasis, blocked with fabric. I wanted one made out of grass. But I couldn't find one anywhere. I checked so many websites even talked to manufacturers. Then I saw this channel, and he opened one up for his bun and it was perfect. I was able to see the manufacturer on the package, but the website was in Japanese, and after translating it, and trying to order online, I was unable to register because I do not live in Japan. I was discouraged, but called the manufacter that made the one in Japan to see if they would ship overseas. Which of course they did not. I asked a manufacturer here if they would consider creating something similar. I even considered sourcing manufacturers to create it myself and sell it on amazon. On one of my trips to my local pet food store, I was talking about it to the owner. He had never heard of a grass one, and none of his suppliers offered one. Then last month I got a call out of the blue, he had found some, ordered two in for me, and extra to sell. So now I have access to them whenever my boys have thoroughly trashed these ones. They have to dig their faces in further to get to the food/treats buried inside, and I don't have to worry that they will end up in stasis.

Edit 2: I will never have a bunny- my dad said that we can’t have 2 pets in the house so I won’t have one until I move out and have enough money. I’ll be honest, I actually thought I might have one. A bunny is the only thing that I wanted it would’ve make me very happy. No one understands how much I wanted that bunny, I feel like it would’ve been the best friend I would get him/her. Edit 3: Superrrr sorry to disappoint but my parents said no but they would get me a kitten.... any type even if its a bit pricy though :). I put treats in a cardboard tube and close the ends off but sometimes I cut little holes or leave the end with a tiny opening, so that they have to shake it around and they all LOVE it it keeps the busy for a long time. Also I put hay in at little box with some treats to keep them busy!

hi lorelei!♥ i have a netherland dwarf bunny who's currently almost a year old. the pet store owner said that Vinny was going to need a cage and i did my re search bout rabbits and bunnies before getting one but i never knew that vinny needed to be free roamed. so, after watching your videos, i am going to convince my parents to free roam vinny and we are going to the vet soon too to get vinny spayed and i love watching your videos because they help me with making my bun feel secure. as soon as vinny turns a year old (mid-sep) my parents and i will get rid of the cage and use a medium sized pen instead while we bunny proof our house. also, i hope you do another "reacting to my subscriber's bunny habitats". i'll hopefully have my set-up done by then. ♥ edit : omg! guy's guess what? my parents actually set up the pen and vinny is WAAAY happier and i am so so happy rn! ♥ also, the pen is more of a medium size like i said but vinny can go in and out as she pleases because we bunny proofed our house early! - guy's i can't believe it aaaaa :D gl! i'll keep y'all updated - thanks for reading this and i really look forward to your future videos w lennon !! ♥♥

I do something similar! I take some brown packaging paper and fold it up with hay and pellets inside. I wrap it with some string and it keeps her entertained when I'm away. She loves tearing it apart to get to the food. She is only really interested in toys that involve food so I have to get creative and stuff treats into her willow balls which forces her to chew the toys.

I finally found a toy my bunny likes now. It is a simple folded piece of cardstock. He like to toss it, chew it, carry it, roll over it, and crawl under it. Although I don't think the last one is intentionally done. It is a silly thing, but a happy bunny is serious business.

I give my bunny Blu 3 hay spots, litter box and 2 baskets. As we know hay is NOT cheep, so I do not fill her litter box hay everyday, but I always make sure she has some in there. I give her two other spots that do not get dirty that she has unlimited hay with. One orchard spot one Timothy spot and in the litter box orchard and Timothy. This is a good way to save money on hay and still provide the nutrition that your bunny needs.

Great, cheap alternative for teaching treat gate (if I got the name correct) is plain cupcake liners. I have five of those around the space where my bunny free roams and I hide treats (in my case pallets because she is still very young) underneath them. She likes to flip them or move them so that she can get to the hidden treasure and throughout day she likes to check if there is something new hidden.

My baby bunnies are currently living in a 8 foot by 6 foot shed and they love it! Best £400 spent ever and they have 2 layers meaning extra space for fun. They also get around 4 hours of free roam time a day so very hyper and healthy bunnies 💜

Hey Lennon the bunny I wish I could free room my rabbits in my room but I’m not allowed to so instead they have a huge exercise pen that takes up a quarter of my room and they have a rug to play on and then the whole room to exercise and it’s just I haven’t found the right routine that I’m consistent with.... yet! Love you guys so much!

I don’t even own a bunny yet but I love watching these! When my children are a bit older I would love to get a bunny as a family as I had two as a child and loved them dearly. I’ve learned so many things I never knew as a kid and I am honestly sad that I didn’t give my bunnies the best life they could have had! Hopefully as a family we can go about this the right way when the time is appropriate! Thanks for teaching me!

This is by far the most helpful video I've seen in a while. My little boy ignores almost every toy that I give him, and we live in a tiny dorm room with limited space to run and explore. With RHDV2 and everything else going on in the world, I don't feel comfortable taking him out for walks often, so this will help us get though this rough patch.

i had a rabbit, sadly he passed away as he was slightly sick and he was 8yrs old so getting older (for his breed that can be pretty old) but my mum felt something off and knew he wouldnt make it and the vets gave us medicine but nothing worked and he died a few years ago. me and my mum are still in love with rabbits and so we may be gettting 1/2 rabbits after the summer if i can prove i can take care of myself as well as an animal so im rewatching your channel now i just love how good lennon is cared for and how you make sure to educate people on animal cruelty in rabbits and give so many amazing tips❤️😎

Excellent video with some great suggestions. My bunny loves that Rosewood garden/salad mix and I sprinkle it on hay that I place inside a paper bag and he will spend quite a while foraging it out and then eating the hay as well.

I'm a 50 year old animal lover, I have ALWAYS had pets my whole life. At the moment I have 3 active, under a year old male rats and ONE less than a year old fixed male rabbit. Hands down the rabbit is a hundred times more work, and he gets into more trouble than the rats!! RATS!! They are notorious trouble makers and the three are so much easier to care for!!!

One technique I do with my rabbit, is let her out in the hall at my building. Generally late at night, so that foot traffic is nonexistent. She loves running up and down the empty hall, and sniffing under all the interesting doors. I either sit on the floor, leaning against the wall, or walk with her, if she gets out of my sight. When she has had enough, she either jumps into my lap, if I'm sitting, or starts scratching at the door to our place. She really seems to enjoy the adventure.

Be sure to show her the water. Don't move it after that. Is it in a bowl? If not you should get one. Lorelei has lots of videos on bonding with your rabbit. Try not to make sudden moves or noises, and don't try to pick her up more than needed.

Since I started scatter feeding about 2 weeks ago my bunnies have been more active and engaged. They seem happier! I hide little bits under things, on top of things, scatter some around and they seem to love it 💚
