Besides the PC specification, one of the advantages of Lenovo PC is that you have the option to purchase extended warranty with various options. And for such high priced PC, the workstation will be your work horse for many years!

I have the P1 Gen 6 RTX A2000 FHD+. In balanced mode, the battery lasts a whopping 9 hours before 10% low battery warning. Re: speakers I actually think they sound above average for classical music/opera, but most of time I wear my Focal Bathys ANC headphone.

the biggest disappointment with this gen of most of the 16in series is the missing Ethernet port..like wtf, there is definitely more than enough space, why did they have to get rid of it?? is that not the main purpose of going larger size for more ports??(since I am using ethernet most of the time for a more stable connection and lower latency).

It's crazy. Even the larger ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 doesn't have an ethernet port. Missing a trick, they should be adding 2.5G ethernet ports!

@@Dovecomputers This exactly, maybe they want us to spend more money on getting usb to Ethernet adapter it seems. If possible please do complain to lenovo about missing usb ports just incase if they sort it out in the next gen

@@cc789ccThere shouldn't be a need for one with a machine that size. It's not a thin and light but a mobile work station. Pure laziness by Lenovo.

I had the P1 gen 4, and was really disappointed with it. I'd love something like this with an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS or even Ryzen 7 7840U (and an option to purchase it without a discrete GPU).

I know it's not a workstation but the Yoga Slim 7 14" is a fantastic device with the AMD Ryzen 7 7840S processor.

You can look for t16 gen 2 AMD or p16s gen 2 amd. There is also HP Elitebook 865 gen10

The ThinkPad P1 is a powerful laptop, but it consumes a significant amount of power and requires a larger and heavier power adapter, as well as a power adapter with two entries for docking station. Due to these reasons, I decided not to purchase the P1 but instead opted for the ThinkPad P16s with an Intel i7-1270 processor. This model requires only one Thunderbolt 4 cable for both power and data, making it more power-efficient and mobile. Its power adapter of 65 W with USB type C is very small and lightweight. I even purchased an additional, even smaller power adapter from Anker, with 3 entries which charges my laptop and phone. For me, it is important to have just one, small power adapter for all my devices when traveling. Therefore, the ThinkPad P16s is a performance-oriented option while also being more energy-efficient and portable compared to the P1 model. It almost never gets hot and is at much better price.

I don't believe you can with this touchscreen. Lenovo doesn't offer a pen as an accessory for this model.

The big issue with these machines is the inefficient Intel chips. Come Arrow Lake and then subsequently Lunar Lake CPUs and then we'll see how truly portable these Thinkpads on steroids are gonna be!
