Danya, just wanna say congrats on the NYTimes puzzle column. Everyone, please check it out! You deserve all the accolades and recognition for your astute and approachable instruction. You always balance the didactic with the entertaining and I'm very excited to see what you do with the column. Also, really appreciate you highlighting Josh Waitzkin in the first puzzle; I've admired him for years and see a tremendous affinity between his ethos and your teaching style. Ever Onward and Upward, Sensei!

Worth remembering too that Daniel is a teacher just as much as he is a chess player... he is almost unique among GMs for this attribute. You're my favourite chess youtubers, this is absolutely great content. If I may give you an advice for whenever you do this again (hopefully soon), I think it would be good for the lower rated players if you recapped each puzzle after it is done, simply explaining the right moves and why the final position is winning. Although the main appeal of this concept is that we see how you and Levy think, which worked out greatly, it is still difficult to understand the puzzles themselves because when Levy starts talking, we don't even know if his solution is correct or incorrect. (I'm 1750 rapid so this issue should probably affect most of Levy's audience...

I love the idea of this series. It would be great to Levy improve and become a GM one day. If I could give some constructive criticism, I would be appreciative if you could put the moves on the board for us beginners. It would also be good to hear the full thinking process from levy to see how he breaks down these puzzles. These things are obvious for the two of you, but not for beginners and intermediates, so I think it would bring value to your less skilled viewers. Danya, when you’re doing studies such as this one or your endgame studies, would it be possible to put the position FEN in the description so perhaps viewers could play around with the position and learn alongside? Levy has insinuated that he is mad at himself for that choice, but at the same time it’s hard to argue it was the wrong thing because in the end Levy is very successful! 14:59 In this position, is Rxd6 good? Sacrificing the rook for black's only "real" defending piece? Then following up with Nf6 and if Bxf6, then gxf and go for Qg7#? (P.S. I'm 1180 so this might be a dumb question)

I thought this too, but after the queen recaptures, Qxd6, Nf6+ Bxf6, gxf6 Qxf6 and white is out of threats and simply losing.
