WOW! Truly AWESOME cover of one of the most iconic Rock song of the late 1960s. Never dreamed I would hear White Rabbit sound like a mixture of Bluegrass and Middle Eastern Folk music. 👍✌️
@RolandTumble23 Жыл бұрын
There's a lot of Middle East in this song to start with. If you haven't, look up the pre-JA version by The Great Society. You may not wind up liking it (personally, I love it), but if you like the song, you should hear it at least once.

I saw both Jefferson Airplane and Starship perform this live and Molly really nails the lead guitar and vocals. She and Golden Highway are just amazing on this fascinating rendition of an iconic song 😎
@EaglePicking Жыл бұрын
Not wanting to be a party pooper, but let's get realistic: she does not "nail" the vocals. She's an exceptional guitar player. She's a great musician. Sure. There's a lot to love and I really don't want to sound like I'm trying to be mean, but her vocals are not in the range of the greats like Grace Slick. Listen to the original and then listen to this. The first has a great singer in it, while the second has a great guitarist in it who also can sing pretty well. They're in a different league. That said: I really did enjoy this live cover, especially the solos.

I have never known a banjoist like Kyle Tuttle who could play so many different styles of music and not sound gimmicky. He just played a version of Jorma Kaukogan’s acid- rock solo and it sounded authentic. From an acoustic bluegrass player!! Amazing.

@jcavilia12 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does work, and it's not surprising that the bluegrass arrangement fits. The Airplane's guitarist, Jorma Kaukonen, played "old-timey" music before his time with the Airplane, and continues to do that for many years since. BTW, I'm another of those 60's holdovers. I heard the Airplane live once (for free, in Golden Gate Park, and the Grateful Dead also played). Those are some memories, aren't they? (Even if a little hazy at times).
