Welcome back to a Minecraft Let's Play in 2024, where I actually play the game again for the first time in 10 Years. Today we discover The Treasure. The Donut Theory was real. God I love this game.
Watch my entire Minecraft Let's Play series in order here: • RTGame Minecraft Let's...
I don't think anything will ever top the Treasure segment of this video. That's one of the coolest and most surreal payoffs I've ever had in a video game. The Treasure is real. Thank you Minecraft

@@glumbortango7182I think that’s probably why these videos are so well made and successful, beside Dan just being a charming character. These videos approach the game with the base knowledge most people would have from the popular era of the game, circa 2012, clad in the raiment and aesthetics of the popular let’s plays of that foregone era. It’s incredibly nostalgic and Dan’s irony is made in jest and not in temper. At least that’s what I think. I am really enjoying this series.

After tangling with an unhappy goat he ascends to the tallest of peaks and finds the answers he'd been searching for. Falling from heaven above to the darkness below the stage was finally set. My head canon lore for RT's world is that the geode in the Ancient City actually fell from the sky and in it was the first skulck and Warden, which led to a horrible, hopeless war where the civilization learned about the power of wool but were ultimately doomed, umable to fight off the corruption. A few hapless members of that managed to escape and were able to band together to build the Woodland Mansion. And over time they forgot about the horrors below them but the reverance for wool continues in their culture, which is why to this day they fashion sculptures of wool - dereft of its original purpose, they use it for art and possibly ritual. However, they were unaware that they were not as free from the corruption as they had thought, and it has poisoned their minds over the centuries, and over time they have become the monsteous race known as illagers that plague our aboveground world this very day.

1:12:58 I staryed crying actual tears when the music kicked in. Moments like these in minecraft are beautiful. The generation in this game is gorgeous, and every once in a while you'll find an absolute gem like this spot, right here, and in the moment, while you're taking it all in, nothing else matters. For a fleeting moment, you lose yourself at the sight, and when the music softly fades in, that's one of the most beautiful moments you can possibly experience. It doesn't matter that it's a blocky world, it doesn't matter that you're just playing a video game, or even watching someone else play a video game. Minecraft has this unique ability to create incredible things, and if you let yourself stop, and take it in for just a few seconds, that's enough to make a grown man cry.

For context, the dungeon guardian in terraria exclusively exists as an "unkillable" enemy that insta-kills you to prevent you from exploring the Dungeon before killing skeletron (a boss), but if you do manage to live long enough by not getting hit even once while doing enough individual hits (at 1 damage each) to do thousands of damage to the dungeon guardian, actually killing it, it will drop a cosmetic pet of itself, added after someone managed to do it (for no reward).

Wealth… Fame… Power… Rumble Tumble, the King of Drifting, attainted this and everything else the Minecraft world had to offer, and his dying words drove countless players to Minecraft. “You know, they used to call me the Drift King back in college, I’ve left the secret to my drifting in one place, now you just have to find it.” These words lured players to Minecraft in pursuit of drifts greater than they’d dared to imagine. This is the time known as the great Minecraft era.

When I decide to play Minecraft myself again, I'm going to mark all my discoveries with "we are the pioner". It gives me vibes of like a mantra of an explorers guild or like signs of life for other passing pioners. A reminder of community in a lonely and hostile world. On another note, I am in awe of how much fun watching this series is. It's very well edited with tense moments, triumphant music (special shoutout to when (spoiler) Dan noticed the brickwork in the ancient city, that music creeping in was tearjerking I can't believe how good it was) and many funny moments. But I think the majority of why this is so enjoyable is how RT is finding wonder in things that I've sort of ruined for myself. I am just a different kind of gamer I guess. I've long de-mystified the world of minecraft, by becoming a Wiki-warrior and craving knowledge and certainty above mystery and adventure. So I'm jealous, but also vicariously enjoying the ride. I remember when I first stumbled upon the deep dark, I almost immediately found an ancient city, by sheer luck. The first time I found shulks I saw an opening to the brickwork below. It was a completely new thing to me. I had just started playing Minecraft again out of nostalgia, and I didn't know what new stuff was in. I was excited to dig through and find any secrets hidden inside. After a while, I had found all the easy stuff, chests scattered about and the like. Then after exploring the place for a while, learning to avoid the wardens and sensors, I sort of gave up on the mystery and searched the wiki for what I'm supposed to find here. I'm so accustomed to coming across a problem, and finding the solution online, that in the process I remove all the mystique for myself. Now, that is a problem with my attitude to some extent. It is a problem with my tenacity to endure not knowing the correct answer. That's a problem I can work on myself. But I cannot simply forget all the knowledge I already have. I don't have a couple thousand(?) people I can ask for vague advice. It's a common wish in the world to say something to the effect of: "I wish I could experience this for the first time again" and boy do these videos make me think that a lot. I'm really enjoying these videos, they're a fun romp, an enjoyable mess and a reminder that the world of minecraft is not just about math and logic. Even if I can't engage with that wonder the same ever again. If you're still reading, search for the game Tunic, it's fantastic, one of my top 5 games of all time.

This series made me realize that RT is like, a really really good streamer in general? Like, more than i already thought, he is really funny, his chat while weird at times, is mostly fun and maintains a healthy banter with RT most of the time. RT i also like, really good at games, but he still makes mistakes, makes bad moves and all that, and it just makes it so there is tension on certain moments? And all that makes for one of the best series of Minecraft videos I've seen, it's so fun, and it keeps me engaged, the editing is also great, so both Ashtaric and RT are making a great job at just, making this the most enjoyable it can be. Thank you for this series, is just, really nice.

His chat is a little bit worse than highlights makes it seem, there are a few times on every stream where someone comments something they shouldn't, gets a more "cold" response from RT and bad vibes ensue for a few seconds, but RT's comedic timing quickly lightens the mood. Most of the time his chat is alright tho, probably courtesy of RT's years of streaming already, that time cut most of the "bad apples" out.

@@TheSprintingGamer It's made me realise that the game really needs overhauls to change up the meta. Approaches to building can vary on terrain, niche uses for blocks, and literally anything added in an update. Redstone designs can always be improves and use mechanics in unintended ways, and when redstoners get a single new thing their contraptions get 10x better. But it feels like for a lot of people, myself included, survival gameplay has become a checklist of things to do to enjoy the game; it's less meaningful when you trick yourself into thinking the best choice is the only one. I guarantee this many years of the meta not really changing is also why people get so hung up on new stuff. Optimal mobs, optimal loot, and an optimal amount of content is all needed in the community's eyes for an update to be good, but here RT is enjoying the fact that camels exist because they are cool.

And I love how the "circle" plot turned out, how the snowballs he happened to gather while saving Butter ended up saving him in some of the ancient city sequences, how it all ended up being a circle, how he slowly figured out more and more about the underground even while trying to avoid it until he just happened to stumble upon the city when he wasn't even looking for it.

About the woodland mansions, some seeds are glitched in a way that spawns a specific structure in a line over and over again, wich could be the case. I've seen it with ravines (just a bunch of paralel ravines few chunks apart) and ruined portals, but never Mansions!

I wonder if that's similar to whatever happened with the world in our current server. There's literally 5 ocean monuments all within spitting distance of each other. I was interested in basing in one and setting up a farm in the other, and I had to label each individual monument on my map bc they were close enough for me to repeatedly get the waypoints confused

But would the inside of the mansions be different or the same?

My favorite part about the Ancient City is that there is wool lining the floors and stockpiles of wool in the ruins of buildings, meaning that the sculk was there when it was inhabited.

"It's only been an hour since we said that..." *six minutes into the video* I get most of that hour was just building the spire, but I think it needs to be said again how masterful of an editor Cloe is.

I love this, I could hear Dan shouting "THE TREASURE IS REAL! I WAS RIGHT!" before I even opened the video. I was filled with excitement when it got to that part. see this? this is what Minecraft is all about, at least to me. we are, indeed, the pioner.

Gotta say, this is my favorite RT series thus far. Nothing captures how appealing he is as a content creator like this. The tranquility, the chaos. the KZbin funny moments tm, it's all here in equal measure.
