Support for star warriors was something i didn't expect to see in this year of the lord 2024. I kinda love pyrite knight, there's this card called kaiza the hidden star who's a level 5 earth warrior who sends another warrior (light or earth) from deck to graveyard the deck now has easer access to r5nks and can recycle some of their setup tools, neat mikazukinoyaiba should work decently in red-eyes as it can potentially avoid the restriction of red-eyes fusion while also giving you a searcher for some of your monsters

Yeah I think it's like, a higher level version of those level 4 elemental spirit cards from forever ago, it makes me wonder if level 5 is the next level to get some love (like how level 3 has been lately)

Here's a quick tip for pronouncing Japanese words written with english characters, like Mikazukinoyaiba. Consonants always make their more common english sound, for example "S" makes a hissing sound like in "soup", not a zuh sound like in "rise". Vowels also always make the same sound, according to the following rules. "A" is ah, "E" eh, "I" is ee, "O" is oh, and "U" is oo. You can remember what sound a vowel makes simply by recalling a Japanese word that you already know how to pronounce; for example the names "Seto Kaiba" and "Yugi" contain all the vowel sounds. With this in mind, our lizard friend's name is pronounced mee-kah-zoo-kee-noh-yah-ee-bah. Not nearly as bad as it initially looks (I don't have a handy trick for knowing where to placing stress on syllables, sorry). Anyway, glad to have you back and great vid 👍

@@QuestLogFakerThere is a “Japanese from Zero” workbook series out there that teaches the absolute basics of Japanese. The author has uploaded the some free supplementary work right here on KZbin. I’d recommend checking out the pronunciation video at least to understand the Japanese sounds. He’s very approachable.

Pyrite Knight is nice for my Mikanko and Vanquish Soul decks since it lets me force stuff. Bounce my Razen or Riseheart to summon it out and have a fire in hand for effects or use it as a starter to try and bait out effects as another dodge option besides my Valius and Borger. It being able to work in grave also means I can use it as fodder for cost. If I summon Razen out for Trinity Burst I can target him with Pyrite Knight to bounce him back to reactive his effects if needed for repositioning and dealing with columns when needed. Mikanko, it gives my opponent a monster I can run into for free. Searches out an equip with Ha-Re, bounce her back, summon him then force another monster to summon with Fire Dance or take the token with Rondo for materials. Would be nice if the token would cause burn or something on destruction but it does provide an option. Both of these also get helped out by the new Battlegaurd Echoes that gives you Pyrite Knight for free and then you discard which means you either discard it and activate the effect or gets a card in Mikanko you need in the grave to activate fast and dirty. It also gets effects based on if you bounced something back to hand to get around some effects. Might buy the specific traps it mentions by name (Battleguard Rage/Howling) just to deal with things with how free the return to hand effects work in these decks with Mirror and Mayowashidori in Mikanko and the swap effects with Vanquish. And since I run Immortal Phoenix Gearfried in Mikanko or the Ken and Gen package I can get that out during the battle phase easier for some more fun. It's just a real fun and useful card.

Hell, I run it with Kaiju and have caused problems at my locals just trying to figure out how things interact with Hu Li when she's equipped with something for things like Promethean Princess only for it to not matter because I was going to summon something else out for my opponent to be able to target because of the Kaiju package. Though with the new Tenpai stuff I might just use Sangenpai Transcendent to force them to attack my Mikanko's monster equipped with Ring of Magnetism since Sangenpai Transcendent stops your opponent from activating effects during the battle phase it becomes a pretty easy win. Gave some of the people that had helped me out when I started at my locals my Tenpai pulls for some other trades and ended up realizing it works with Mikanko to force a battle phase if they can't out it before hand. It's honestly kind of hilarious that it can be used like that. Summoning it out with the Revolution Synchro and the new Centurion and that Aiza The Dragoness Of Deranged Devotion to actually summon it out. Needless to say I have a good bit of options to work with and Tenpai being around 15 cards, is an easy side deck option package I could do with it versus using Kaiju or other stuff I wanted to try with my Mikanko like the PUNK engine along with Spooky Dogwood.

Good Video! I was thinking the exact same thing about the new dinosaur card’s potential, but you are the only other person I’ve heard even bring it up. At first it seems possibly bricky, but my first thought was pank, normal summon, then special new dino. Is it possible it can make hands less bricky overall? I’m still overloaded, I Just got back into the game again after over a ten year hiatus (pre-pendulums, I quit playing during the dragon rulers/spellbook magicians format) so I’m not only having to learn new mechanics like pendulum and link, new archetypes, but also maxx c was legal at 3 back then and we didn’t have all these handtraps (usually it was veiler, maxx c , and you’d see gorZ and tragoedia, but none of this 4-5 at 3 a piece standard that the Meta is now) so It’s a lot to take in, but I’ve made about 15 decks, dino being one of them, and im slowly experimenting and tweaking the ratios, and most yugioh content on KZbin covers the same topics, so I really appreciate the video on cards I also thought were neat but I wasn’t sure since none of the “pro” ycs/wcq/etc had covered then yet, so this is like a reaffirming “hell yea”. sorry for the word vomit, but thanks again, I appreciate the content!

With all these retrains, maybe we can get an Exodius retrain that has it's anime effect? Just need 5 battle phases to complete Exodia. Way too slow to not this a real card. While the Exodius we got isn't bad, it isn't used for what it was printed for. It is just Rank 10 material, not a win condition.

Blink out could be good to use on a lot of stuff. Just steal your opponents links while also interrupting them. Tantrum card seems isn't a once per turn so I wonder if there is a way to loop it.

Perhaps im reading it wrong, but wouldn't blink out be absolutely insane in sky strikers? If im reading correctly, you could set blink out and end on shizuku like you normally would, then on your opponents turn you could use blink out (potentially to dodge an effect), recycle your shizuku to the ED, and then summon the kagari you used to summon shizuku and add a spell from your GY? While also restocking the spell counter because blink out would go the GY!?!?!

As a reptile player, the Reptilianne link is effectively a generic search and instant link 3. Assuming your opponet has a monster on board (which theres a chance of turn 1 if they used a hand trap and then are stupid enough to special summon it off of Ogdoadic Light's effect, or if they trigger psyframe), you will getting to search at least one reptile from your deck. Then, as there is a zero attack monster on the opponets board, you can special summon Nyami (who should have been dumped by now if youre playing reptiles correctly) and immedietely link into a link 3. The issue is really that theres only one link 3 you can go into, that being cosmic slicer, but if youre playing reptiles youre most likely looking to land on the alien lockdown as an endboard.
