Yeah, the system is ON ONE with ANY levels of TruthTelling. I said they were gonna go hardest riiiiiight around campaigning season, AND BOOM! Here we are. The way society has kicked back & allowed supremazzy to thrive unchecked, it was inevitable and I knew they'd kick into high gear around now. I've never been much of a saveaho, so I'm not trying to wake up ppl who are enjoying their naps -- but meanwhile, they've run my consciousness content to patreon too. I ain't mad tho because I'm particular with the company I embrace anyway. QUALITYoverQuantity

That’s such a sad truth, but corporations do that to so many creatives who don’t have patents or rights to their ideas so they don’t technically “own” it.. so people take advantage and swoop in. It’s unfair but ultimately creatives HAVE to be aware of fair use and if they come up with something, they need to take legal measures to own it.

I just realized that I had this white friend, I went to her house one day, I had box braids in my hair, then her little sister came to hang out with us. To my knowledge she didn't have any black friends but she asked me if I burned my braided tips or dipped them in boiling water. When I asked her ''how do you know that'', she responded that's how her black friends does it and because of her response I was more comfortable into talking about my hair with her, even though I never did with her older sister, which had been my friend for over 20 years. the more time passed, I followed the little sister on social media, saw her hanging out with her friends and I never saw a single black girl. Now I understand that she had lied and was probably following black girl instagram pages, anyway I had a hunch as I saw her asthethics evolving throughout the years, wearing hoop earings, having a black boyfriend, talking with a blaccent and even using nigga. Anyways, they have been since cut off when I tried to have a genuine conversation on their racism, use of the n-word and I was met with denial, anger, white women tears and "no you are racist".

I also have to say that growing up I was a very quiet slim dark skin black girl who moved all over the place growing up and lived in the suburbs for most of my life except a few times where I lived in a bad area because my mom lost her job during the recession era. I remember almost being suspended for a white girl copying off of my paper. I remember being told I was “ pretty “ for a dark skin girl. I remember trying not to be seen as the angry black woman. I tried to get as far away from negative stereotypes about black women. I tried to prove myself to people. No matter how hard I tried it never worked. I remember getting fired from a job because I finally spoke out how they basically were overworking me like a slave. I also dealt with racism at my last job. A white customer accused me of stealing and lying about working there. She said I came off “ aggressive “ to her when she was the one yelling at me and I was clearly wearing a uniform so how could I be lying about working there ? She THREATENED to call the police on me. I was the only one there because my boss and coworker were late for work and when I told my boss he didn’t even care so I quit my job. Even though I tried to make myself as nonthreatening as possible, I still was treated like an angry violent black woman. It makes me so mad that in this day and age it’s ok for everyone to pretend to be black women but black women.

25:02 is a powerful statement! Black women "birthed & raised" this nation! We provided the "new black bodies" needed to build the cities, farm the land, and were the bases for actual material wealth for our oppressors. Black women continued long after slavery to provide the foundation which White America established their families. As cooks, nannies, housekeepers, and a host of other domestic positions, black women influenced white America from cradle to grave. White America has struggled to understand the conflict they have between hating black people while wanting approval from black women, their first nurturers.

I never was big on Twitter but as someone trying to do activism for bw outside of social media I was disgusted. More so how he invaded the safe space of black women all because he was a coward. It’s so annoying and disrespectful how black women can’t even get rewarded for being ourselves. Yet a lot of people that aren’t black women get rewarded for portraying our likeness as “talent.” I’m tired of this.

First of all, you are beyond amazing! As a white Latina grad student I continue coming back to your KZbin channel and pass it forward whenever I can. Your grant is extraordinarily generous and amazing. I’ve taught so many undergrads who are able to eat maybe once a day, students who have been homeless for months. Latinx and black, especially queer students are especially vulnerable at the PWI where I work and study. These kids would never take $250 for granted. It can be the difference between getting that one book, hot meals, a roof or even preventing frostbite with proper outerwear. Again thank you. You should be getting more support in every way possible because you have not just added a financial responsibility but also emotional labor to your life. Be prepared for some gut wrenching stories and have a support system for yourself in the upcoming months. Continue being amazing.

A lot of the none-black girls are the loudest, the ones with the dark skin black men, the one with the lips fillers , the one with the fake butts and so on ( I have no problem with cosmetic surgery because I will be getting my boobs done - shit not the same after breastfeeding my kid) Anywho, they all assumed I was from Cali and I couldn’t understand why but the whole time I was there I got complimented on my lips ( full) and body, I’m a tiny woman with a lil booty. So if you want to just people watch and see the impact that black people have on everyone you’d be blown away. But the sad part is, if you’re black and “act” black you’ll be given the side eye

Thank you Kim for uplifting our fields and helping those students who are constantly asked what you gonna do with that and questioned why their degree matters and are majoring in those fields often without the support of their families and loved ones who don’t understand why the study of race, class, gender and sexuality matters! This reminds me of a trend we see in Human Geography where class wise culture travels low to high. I first learned about that when while living in Jamaica. I met a human geographer there working on his Phd studying how different styles of Jamaican music traveled from something rooted most often in the poorest sections of downtown Kingston up the social classes to be embraced by the rich there (eventually we know becoming international music). I think this can be extrapolated to a variety of cultural products. I remember a linguist too who spoke about language invention and how new words most often were originally the invention of teenage girls ( a group we often like to put down). I bet if you dug harder probably black teenage girls. Five years later you will have 60 year old white CEO's of fortune 500 companies using these words. What you are speaking on touches on how culture moves through society and who are most always the originators of things. Necessity breeds invention I guess you could say so the wealthy or most privileged are rarely going to come up with anything new. They can only exploit maybe build upon what was invented by others first.

@@zvezdoblyat a lot of kpop stans speak up in the name of minorities they are not part of like they are not white/ straight people behind the screen. there is a difference between being an ally and using your priviledge to support other's voices and just including yourself as the main character of a discussion you don't belong and not listening. recent cases are that army girl speaking in the name of koreans saying superm is the biggest shame for the korean nation and bts put korea on map BEING A WHITE AMERICAN, korean people came for her and others started telling KOREANS they should be grateful for BTS. Korea loves and is proud of BTS but they were not lost before them and the level of arrogance of that girl with a white savior complex... there was also non-african kpop stans trying to say what g-idle said was not a big deal but then when twice's jihyo dressed as miguel from coco people tried to make it a bad problematic thing besides actual mexican people telling them they loved it and it's just a movie. kpop stan twitter has become a mess, people pretend to be "woke" and know what they are talking about as drags when this are real issues for people... but when someone actually wants to start a conversation they get silenced and bullied. the things i've seen my black carat friends go throught are despicable and it's so sad.

I think it's amazing that you're giving money to college students, especially black girls who are getting their education, and ESPECIALLY black girls who are majoring in history, gender studies, African American studies etc. because the matter of the fact is that people don't really give consideration to those fields. I'm not black, but I am an english major and in high school I constantly heard teachers talk about the importance of college, only to tell students that if they chose to major in something like gender studies or english that their education would be worthless, and that people going into STEM were the ones who actually knew what they were doing. It's so discouraging to talk down on students for what they want to study, and I can't even imagine how it feels to be a black girl having to experience that. I don't care if I won't benefit from your charity, there are other options for me, and if I was a STEM major there would be PLENTY of options for me, it makes me glad to see someone work to uplift others. Anyone talking shit isn't worth your time.

In my opinion, one of the reasons why the borders we attempt to create are porous is because our foundation as a black women unit is not strong. We don't support each other enough to establish a solid front to keep "outsiders" from stealing our cultural innovations. And like you astutely mentioned, we don't have a safe forum to share our ideas or resources to make sure we optimally capitalize on our ideas. You suggested that we should focus on supporting one another, but how do we reach masses of black women in a quick manner without social media? How do you think we can strengthen our community and gain better self respect and awareness to find the phonies infiltrating our community? Thank you for having these conversations and discourse. Much appreciated.
