That giant is my favourite sculpt of all the giants over the years. I have him in metal and he's serving double duty in my Greenskins and Ogre armies for Old World.

Hey Stos, of course I am watching! I'd never miss one of your let's hobby! So glad that the longbeards already got a special place in your heart, I'm sure that with their oaths and resolve they will repay your trust in them! Can't wait to see them on the battlefield! Also, congrats for the new units, they look fantastic and as an old Orcs and Goblins player I was particularly impressed by gorgeous George! Giants are so nice to play, looking forward to seeing him jumping on the enemy and do something fun that will grant him a place among legends. My giant Herbert, for example, once ATE my opponent's vampire general, so cool! Don't think that vampires taste that good actually, kind of fermented meat probably, but ol' Dragislav is warned!

Great content as always. Ideal for my own hobby sessions for listening to in the background while I'm painting. Indeed, considering ToW is basically a new WHFB edition , changing bases doesn't make sense when adapters exist. You can always upsize, but you can't downsize!

I had a 4th/5th edition dwarf army back in the day, which I gave to a cousin more than 20 years ago. These videos have brought me back into the hobby, but have gone TOW route. I would recommend sub building the king on shield as it is super fiddly. I have fallen in love with the Bugmans cart. GW have re-released the 1987 sculpt and I couldn't put the model down when painting it as it was so fun to paint, plus it makes dwarfs almost as fast as everyone else.

Hell yeah dude! Stoked to be bringing people back to the hobby! Good shout on the Dwarf Lord on shield bearers. Did you paint him in sub assembly?

Yes, it was the first sub-assembled miniature I have ever painted in parts. I am now a convert.

Milestone markers were introduced into Britain by the Romans in the 3rd Century AD. There are still many visible from the Medieval period upto the 20th Century.

nice to see you still adding stuff to your troops, this will add some variations in your battle reports. It can be getting a bit boring seeing always the same stuff over and over again so I really apreciate your effort and work you put into this channel and our all hobby. keep on going bro.

Looking great! Love zenithal prime with contrasts. Does so much good work very fast. I am stuck using spray cans, and annoyingly, I can’t get a good finish on white spray cans, and always end up using grey and then drybrushing the white. Will go airbrush one day…. It’s a milestone! Just a marker by the road to show travellers how far they are from a town. They were all over the place in the real life old world! With blotchy contrast, thinning it with contrast medium or maybe just water, and applying a couple of coats does the job more cleanly. But I think he came out really nicely.

It's not a gravestone?! I'd never noticed before. If you're having trouble with contrast paint leaving tidemarks and brushmarks, adding in a bit of contrast medium can help a lot. As you mention later, thinning down contrasts can help so much. It improves the flow rate and gives you more working time before it's dried too much to manipulate without tearing. Although at some point just using 'normal' paints is easier. Thankfully the end result looks great (or indeed gorgeous) on george. Mortars traditionally don't function very well on the table (although it looks fantastic!) but the allure of that large template is powerful. Also it's not nessecarily a bad thing to go a bit easy on the guests ;). I suppose at least in Old World at least the AP is surprisingly good and former guess weapons resolve a bit faster in play. I'm somewhat partial to the battlemat. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it gives a better impression on how it'll look in the lighting it'll be in once it's on-camera on the table. Lastly, I may be a sucker for empire state troop detachments but I'm looking forward to seeing that dwarf lord and those _fantastic_ Colin Dixon longbeards painted up!

I know right, turns out it's a milestone! Yeah, definitely still working out the kinks of some of the contrast range. I think I prefer the battle matt too, for the same reasons.

Really gorgeous George giant painted there! This guy went through 6-8th ed traumatising my beastmen… well more 6th to 7th. I recall he didn’t quite have the pizzazz in 8th once everything else got a bit more killy.

It's always so nice to have a good long look at the new minis in these videos! They all looked great! My fav was probably Gorgeous George, can't wait to see him on the table! I honestly didn't remember that you had had the black table cloth only in the earlier videos, so it certainly didn't bother me at all! In fact I think it looked quite nice :>

Do you plan some bigger games from time to time? Like 3k vs 3k or 2v2? And maybe some campaign to add more of lore flavour? Love your channel, your positive energy and can't wait for more (especially 6th edition) battles! Oh, and as Tomb Kings and Ogres player, I really wait for them to appear on the channel 🫢

Think the last version were 4th Ed though they got a new standard bearer and musician in 6th. There was an earlier version in the mid-80s and a pre-slotta version before that, both of which I've got. Really surprised that the 4th Ed ones weren't rereleased earlier this year as they would surely have been popular especially with the unit getting really good rules in The Old World. Failing that the 80s version would also have been more useful than them rereleasing the Dragon Company though really the 4th Ed ones would be a better fit with more recent plastic Dwarfs. The troopers weren't that expensive on Ebay early this year though Dwarfs seem to have got more expensive there in the last few months at least in terms of what people are asking for them.

Really cool to see a nice little mob of really cool Dwarf Rangers. Hope to see them soon! In 6th Ed.. ;) I still base for 6th Ed too. Use spacers if you play TOW and really "need" those bases.. I think it looks much better with wooden handles, crossbows etc on Stunties. Not the GW nonsense of the 2nd 6th Ed book and onwards, no wood. So sterile and boring.. Also agree, no huge need for loads of highlights when you batch paint like that. Some chosen places, maybe the command if you really want. A good foundation and washes, ncie bases does alot.

Would like to see Anvil of Doom in a 6th ed BR using original dwarf army book - it looks very powerful. I enjoy magic heavy lists like your Orc and Goblin army led by Snaggletooth. It's fantasy after all not historical wargamming,! and it's fun when people can get big spells off (or blow themselves up). Vampire Counts - maybe try Necrarch Lord rather than blood dragon for better magic phases and a black chariot for the lol.

Nah, it is fine filming on the battle field, either works. :) Oh man, those metal Longbeards are soo good! What made me play Stunties back in the day - I had two blocks of 23... Some of the best models from GW ever! Just behind the humble plastic Orc warriors.... ;) Most of the stuff added post-6th Ed is absolute nonsense. Just to sell some new shit.. Cannot think of any reasonable add-ons now.. Might be some.. But sure, try some of that in TOW. Glad you don´t bring it into 6th Ed. :D

Blood Knights are a stand out for me of something cool added post 6th Ed. The Corpse Cart too. Maybe it's just Vampire Counts! 🤣
@ja37d-34
@ja37d-34 4 күн бұрын
@@rogueelementgaming Sure, pretty cool. But Blood Knights seems to be a better version over the other Knights? Slap on some extra special rules to get the more immature kids wet about getting something OP.. Kinda.. I actually don´t know too much about the Corpse Cart but the model I have seen was cool and seems to fit the theme.. So sure! But when something "new" is so good you always see it and it is a better version of something old.. The cynism in me wakes up.. it was a more commersial decision from GW than actually making the game better then. There is, was, always better things they could do. Just new models and slightly tweaked rules goes along way. Catering for those muppets unaware of any balance, not caring for the background just wanting the "Best" does not make the game better.. For Orcs and Goblins I kidna like the models for the Mangler Squig and that spider.. but i can live without them.. Maybe for some appendix Forest goblin list or Night Goblin list? O&G have enough prior to that....I would rather have seen stuff made into similar-looking plastic models that were in metal..
