It's annoying on both ends in AoS they're losing units and entire factions because of the idea they belong in Old World, in Old World they are apparently not allowed to use the newer, better models? I saw Old World Night Goblins they look, so much worse then the Gloomspite Gitz. So much. I have no idea what they're gonna do with the last 2 thirds of Cities of Sigmar. Empire, Dark Elves, and Dwarves made up that faction and Empire only came back because Freeguild got updated. Dispossed and the Corsairs (Or Darkling Covens if your lame) likely will only be updated piecemeal unless they have another Cities Wave planned this edition; meaning either AoS will lose all their non-human cities units; or Dwarfs and Dark Elves won't be in Old World for perhaps a decade.

The Ogre is a Marauder one from about 1990. So not the oldest thing they've rereleased (that would be the Citadel Dragon Company I think), but not far off. The standout figure from the Marauder Ogres with the Empire look is the captain, I still like the others but the 80s Jez Goodwin ones and some of the other early 90s ones are better to my mind. I suspect if they were rereleasing the captain then he'd be the one in the photo though.

GW do a Preview Show with one new Bretonnian model, Val: "Is that it? I'm disappointed.". GW do a preview for one new Empire model (and a couple of remastered horses), Val: "This is an overwhelming preview." GW seem to have mastered the art of pulling the wool over our eyes and releasing preview shows with minimal content. WarCom seems to get all the good model reveals these days, particularly for specialist games. Love the show as always, keep up the good work.

I run empire, but it's a black powder heavy army. Outriders, cannon, steamtank. I use stormcast demigryph as demigryph riders and they're quite effective. No land ship i reckon (after i was shouting it was coming lol) but war wagon should be in plastic. BUT warhammer fantasy fortress..... siege towers. They'd be nice. I love empire so much but will be interesting tonsee if the6've rem9ved "Karl Franz" writing on the royal griffon's armour... Thanks guys, great vid 🎉

Gloomspite Gitz have also always included the Spiderfang Grots, which used to be the Forest Goblins. Gloomspite has been all of the goblins and trolls the whole time. (ETA: at least since 2019, when Gloomspite became a thing - before that the Gitmob, Moonclan, and Spiderfang were all separate Allegiances, and 2019 is when all the older Gitmob stuff finally became unplayable in AoS).

Thinking about the MTO War Wagon - so far MTO I’m aware of has always had an equivalent model in the permanent range (TOW or AoS). I wonder if this means they’re planning a new one? Maybe a Cities kit that can stand in even?

Not the case for old world unfortunately- lots of precedent for made to order stuff being one and done, example being the mercenary imperial dwarves.

the gitmob look amazing, but they also look huge. Like in terms of physical model scale. Not sure how usable that stuff will be in old world due to base size issues. base size probably doesn't matter for the doom diver, but it could make using the wolf mounted hero & the chariot pretty difficult.

The imperial Ogres are bloody brilliant, so much character in their raggedy Landsknecht uniforms, brutes dressed up like gents. The Hero is the best one of the set of 7, hopefully he will be included! Not too surprising but disappointing never the less that they picked the 7th/8th Ed state troops. The 5th/6th multiparts and 6th starter set troops are peak Empire for me and lots of fans, as they have more of a Landsknecht look with the puffy sleeves and what not. Plus they are actually better sculpts and parts are interchangeable with the militia sprues. Getting huntsmen and militia back will make creating Mordheim gangs much easier again which is reason to celebrate!

1) the ironsides are based on the current plastic empire troop. The 6th edition were already phased out at time of release. 2) I don't think the goblins were tow models repropoused for AoS. they always had in their mind to bring the mongolian stile goblins in AoS from the beginning, they've always been in the lore since first edition. They were surely made before GW started to think about TOW PROBABLY they're releasing now because of the successful of TOW so that can sell the same kit for both games 3) the wonderful thing about new empire and ogre mercenaries is that now I can make a full empire army using the conquistadores range and landsknecht ogres from wargames atlantic😊❤

I guess that things that aren't there for Empire have a chance of turning up in a second round of made to order and what have you - that seems to be what's happened with other factions. Wouldn't thank you for any of the goblins, they're impressive in their way but leave me completely cold, it's a mystery to me how anyone could fall in love with them. The wolfriders look like they'll be enormous compared to any older non-AoS models anyway. Thankfully there are great goblin chariots and wolfriders from way back when and from modern imitators of the oldhammer style.

I think, I think…. I REALLY believe that Val is excited for those new gobbo chariots. Frankly, I am too! I am preparing to be disappointed with the Empire Arcane Journal if it doesn’t have either a special Ulrican character (which unlocks new Ulric troop choices), or halflings, or Tilean (pike) mercenaries. Just ONE of these inclusions will be most satisfying.

They did not elaborate on the two new Empire heroes (only seen at the start of the Army Shot in the Video) Here's sth. I'd like the opinion on you two about: I love AoS and ToW, and getting some more models from AoS usable in ToW would be great. Specifically I was thinking about AoS-ified Cavalry units that have a smaller equivalent in ToW Aggradon Riders -> Cold One Riders. However instead of proxying I'd love to simply "write" rules for them that are basically along the lines of 1 aggradon = 2x Cold One Rider stat-wise (2x the wounds, 2x the attacks), for double the points, counting as monstrous cav. In most cases this should even be a drawback, but it'd be a simple way to make ToW more accessible (and cool) There are several such examples: Aggradon Riders -> Cold One Riders New Goblin Duo-Wolf -> Wolf Riders Varanguar -> Chosen on Steeds etc. the same can be done with sized-up mounts. What's your opinion on the matter? (I doubt this will ever be accepted by a huge part of the playerbase, sadly) P.S.: I love your show, it's good vibes all over. I'll either buckle and start my first Destruction/Greensckin army or use those wolves for sick Wood Elf Conversions (sadly Wood Elves don't have chariots anymore X_x)

Kind of disappointed by nuln for one of the armies of infamy, given that artillery heavy gunline armies are already well represented by the grand army list, probably the best way to run empire currently. something focused on empire melee infantry, with special rules to make those worth fielding, would have done a lot more for overall list diversity. but whatever, cool either way, and the knightly order list sounds neat. I would have liked to see at least one new plastic kit, but the empire range was pretty well covered already.

How is Travel Mystical Pathway being played at events/ruled by TOs? Wording is just "within" so you could measure from front of where the unit was to the back of where it ends up? I.e. with some of the movement ending up more than 12" away from starting location? Or should it be treated as "wholly within" despite that concept seemingly not existing in OW (not even for deployment lol).

Man, I was not expecting to want an Empire army, but now I am really tempted. I really like the look of some of those sculpts. Also, the new gitz models are amazing. I am already using the snarlfang riders as hobgoblin wolf riders in my chaos dwarfs army so I am thinking the big dude they just revealed will make an awesome hobgoblin khan to go with them. All in all, a very dangerous reveal for my wallet.

Would have been great to have the knights, militia and state trooper Perry trinity back. The very-early digital sculpt on the 7th ed just is worse and the change in style never sat well with me.

My suspicion on the wolf rider release: I reckon the Underworlds warband of wolf riders sold like absolute hot cakes, as the single wolf rider unit is a quick follow on release about as fast as they could, and then this bigger release landed a while later. I think it more likely that specialist games got a bit cheeky with their special character having seen the upcoming goblin releases rather than it being a "stolen" old world release.
