21:00 These sorts of silly improv moments are why I enjoy NRB playthroughs so much, where you take a fundamentally dry rules-based game that focuses on social deduction & inject some RP into it. It runs the risk of derailing a game, but I enjoy it so much, be it Jon's in-flight movie reviews in Pandemic, Sullivan's kissing-adjacent Liberal policies in Secret Hitler, naughty gnome trade union debates in Saboteur, or mad fun like the Billiard Boys in Blood in the Clocktower. It totally makes these games for me. Embrace the silliness!

They never mentioned, but I think it was pretty obvious that Isaac was Merlin at the end there and it was a really tough spot for him to be honest! He came up with some good logic, but unfortunately it's difficult as Merlin to push hard for the good team in the last quest without obviously outing yourself and losing anyway.

As someone else mentioned, needing all 4 good players in the final round, he should have been crying to get himself in (as should everyone else). Wouldn’t work per se but makes logical sense at least. He *has* to be on that mission.

Yep, you probably won’t be taken on another quest but the game plays out so much differently with an early failure. Gotta sow the distrust and get the early failures

I once fell into the toilet when I was 6 and very sleepy. I don't believe these things are comparable to Brooke's regular trips to the vacation toilet.

I face palmed in the last game. Isaac buddy, you need 4 good people on the last mission to win. There are only 4 people in the game. So if you are good and not on the mission you should be fighting to get put on it. True it might not have made a difference. In any event loved the episode. Social deduction games are amongst my favorite games. Full disclosure I have made my own dumb mistake playing Avalon. I was merlin and when the game runner asked out loud at the end "Who was Merlin?" of course directing that at the evil team , my hand shot straight up in the air , I tried to save it but it was definitely too late

I can't believe I requested this last week and here it is! You guys are the best. Also, I never thought of playing it as a story telling game. I'm going to do that from now on. One small quibble - the team leader doesn't have to choose themselves for the team. (They probably should, but they don't have to.)

At 52:58, when Jon says that he can be left out, it is a proof that he is red. Since it is the last quest, that you need 4 successes and there is only 4 blues, all of them have to be in it. Not wanting to be in is not a blue move. QED

In our group, the meta is to reject most mission proposals. Group proposals and voting patterns give you information, so having more of that is usually better for good. I was really surprised to see them accept almost every group.

Best memory of The Resistance (Avalon but cyberpunk, basically the same game except for Merlin), we played a Blind Traitors variant with 7 players (so 3 traitors). I was a traitor and on the first mission, and had the idea to fail the first mission. Some of you know where I'm going with this: turns out the other mission member was another traitor and we double-failed. Found out at the end of the game that the person who sent us on the mission was the third traitor. 10/10 best game

32:42 I want the story to be Sully, Jon, and Adam, rescuing Lady Brooke from her toilet tower First They approach the tower But they come across an Ogre With one swing of his hammer, Jon slays the foul beast, or maybe fights to a draw. They enter the tower climbing up the stairs and find A gelatinous beast! With quick wits and a flick of the wrist Noble Sir Adam douses the cube in bleach slaying it and whitening the castle steps. Lastly King Sullivan makes it to the top door of the tower. He opens it and finds a room with a large toilet. The lovely lady Brooke yelling for help, well, maybe just asking but the porcelain has good acoustics. King Sullivan reaches with all his might down the toilet. Lady Brooke jumps and their hands meet and the mission to rescue lady Brooke was a success!

It seems he is. His reasoning was also logical, Blair on the 4th quest had to suceed (i mean, one failure would only harm evil team) so she was not cleared. But what it points clear to it is that if another player were Merlin, that player would jump to support Isaac's logic (his logic was so solid that Adam agreed instead of fighting it, so Merlin could have support that without outing himself)

That's a flaw with the online version. You are never required to pick yourself. It's important because if you don't want the votes to fail 5 times and it's gotten to you and no one trusts you (meaning they would reject a 5th time), you can pick other players to get your team the point for this round.

On the toilet issue: almost guaranteed that Sully leaves the seat up. Falling into the toilet happens to many women who sit down expecting a seat that isn't there. By the time we realize that there's nothing to sit on, it's too late.

I once played a game of DnD where my cohort played my brother in game. Tensions got high because my brother was running off on his wife and I was slowly being consumed by a demon. Of course we ended up coming to blows- the problem is that he was a wizard and I was a sorcerer. We punched at each other for at least fifteen minutes, during which one point of damage was dealt to me. That was the total damage from the fifteen minute fight. If Adam and Sully actually went out to fight in the woods I imagine it would be something like that.
