Great playthrough! If it hasn't been mentioned yet, I think the "primary op" might have been explained incorrectly - it doesn't matter if you scored more than your opponent, you get the +50% bonus no matter what. (and they get it too).

Yes, it’s just Kill Op you get the bonus for when your grade is higher!

Great to see you guys enjoying yourselves playing Kill Team. It is not the easiest game to learn, particularly when you start out with all with all the rules. I recommend e.g. not playing with the tac ops at the beginning, just to get a feel for your operatives. Either way - fantastic to have this kind of content and looking forward to what you do next!

Great video and I don't fault anyone for getting rules wrong especially prerelease, but for the benefit of others watching: TP1: First shot on Vespids should have benefitted from Obscuring, removing a success (would have resulted in 0 DMG after the two saves) and any shooter crits retain as normal hits. Vespid on Conceal moving said to be threatened by the servo turret from Vantage--the terrain L in the lower left is Heavy so Vantage would not allow it to be targeted if it stays within 1". Vespid attack: can never re-roll a re-roll

Just a note at 42:00 you misplayed the Accurate rule for being on a Vantage. With Accurate 1 you don’t get a reroll. You just retain 1 die as a hit without rolling it, then roll the rest. Accurate 2 you don’t roll 2 dice, you just get two hits, and roll the other two dice. Also you rerolled the same die twice - but you can never re-roll a re-roll.

Great play through! A few rule fix though… 1) The very first shoot of the game the opponent is Obscured 2) Vantage points played incorrectly 3) Tac Ops (you only pick 1 not all 3) 4) Charge gives you an extra 2 inches 5) If you are on concealed you CANT counteract unless an army rule allows you. 6) In case of a initiative tie the first turn, the attacker chooses 7) Please verify all rules 😂

In the post game wrap up, he mentions that one of his big mistakes was clumping up while facing both a flamer and a grenedier. Also, Vespids were rolling hot.

really interested in killteam mainly because i play alot of ttrpg and ttwg and for my Dark Herese/Wrath and glory ttrpg i got alot of killteams.. just to represent the "normal" Police etc. so I am interested in how this plays because i already got the minis for it anyway.

It's a good game. The new ruleset has some weird bits, but it's like chess with craps. It's fun, I recommend looking into the phobos team, especially the incursors.

When you reviewed the core rule, Ash, I got quite interested. After wading thru that pre-game Ops, Ops, More OPs, Gambits, etc. I'm really not sure if this is the game for me.

You do not actually have to play with all that. There is both PVE content and scenarios like the one used in the free Warhammer+ batrep that work without some of these optional bits. I personally enjoy the complexity but when showing it to new players I have always added stuff in bit by bit as it can be too much in one go and get in the way of the fun.

Ash the over the top camera is nice, but not for the whole battle report. It would be cool if you'd go back to the more "action oriented" camera, and just give the top at the beggining and the end of the round.

GW is hard to beat on models. The vast majority of their models are just top notch. The 40k setting is really immersive, even the silly parts (orks) are a lot of fun. But my God the rules they come up with! Bleeech! And I'm so sick of the blatant cash grabs! Do we really need a new edition every 3 years?! I really want to like KT. I love skirmish games and one set in 40k would be great. I just can't bring myself to give them any more $$.

35 minutes in and not a move made or a dice rolled. The same reason I don't play 40k. Too much time demanded for very little tactics. Just min max maths. Compare that against Warcry. Words apart. Each to their own. I wanted to buy the kit for the terrain alone, but I just don't get the appeal of the game.

I can assure you once one has had a game or two and one is not having to present to an audience the games get going much quicker. I have had close and well fought games as short as an hour, although 2 hours is more the norm. I personally find that enjoyable as you do have to do a bit of figuring out strategies as you play, even if you have played a team a few times before. I experince that as tactical depth rather than something I see as a problem.
