Something that always bothered me about the Sonic series was the fact that you could stand on lava when invincible, instead of sinking in. Turns out, lava is so dense that if you were somehow able to go within 20 feet of it without bursting into flames, you could walk right across it. It'd be slippery as fuck, though.

Cybershell, as long as I've been playing for all my life, in marble zone, concentration is key for avoiding lava, caterkillers, & other obstacles. In order to kill the caterkillers, u must roll into their heads to avoid taking damage.

lava actually moves about that slow. that's why it's not as much of a worry as giant hot flesh melting ash that moves about 20 times faster.

About the jumping glitch which is at 5:06 it can be done at Green Hill as well. I learned about that being a bug in the game engine. along with the spike bug which is where Sonic touches spikes once and instantly dies I learned about these Sonic 1 glitches in the Sonic community.

fun tip for special zones im sure everyone knows. when you use the level select cheat. up, down, left right, start while holding A+B+C on the title screen. select special stage... complete it then hit reset on ya megadrive. then do repeat for all special stages. the card will remeber you have the previous emerald each time. and when you have em all rest and select FINAL ZONE, once you comeplet that you will get the good end, and skipped most o fth game
