I honestly believe the city in the background is supposed to be the Star Light Zone, because it's the only other zone in the game which has contemporary buildings in the background. Also, I believe the Marble Zone is on the other side of those mountains.

"COPE" is one of the (many) easter eggs from one of the designers on the Sega team! I wish I could remember more detail but it was from a book I read like two years ago... The Console Wars, highly recommend!

Lol Cybershell, you're the greatest. I'll never understand why you have so many haters though. None of your dialogue is forced, you're just so easy-going with your LP's and I swear every bit of your humor is 100% natural. I find myself laughing at any random shit you're talking about, even when it it's obviously not intended to be laughed at. Like I said, man you're the greatest.

Cope is there because it's a development gag. It's the acronym for one of the graphics processing routines used by the developers of the game, so it's there as a developer joke.

At 6:49, you probably already know it but the reason you cant get the shield is cos beneath it is the exit of a secret passage which is found at the bottom of those moving blocks at 6:20, in that secret passage is another extra life

From the desk of Ian Winters(my son): Fun fact: Act 2 of this zone is one of the only two levels in Sonic history to have two exits, the other being Collision Chaos Zone Act 2, from Sonic CD.

I've noticed that the signs in the level usually let you know what sort of gimmick is next. Like CPU means the spike balls, cope means bumpers, UP means go over the little roof parts. That's what I personally think they are for. They are usually pretty vague though.

Then die at metropolis zone. And then just cried. Edit: when I meant I died, I meant I got a game over.

I've heard Cope is there because the game is a metaphor for a maturing man. For some reason this part represents a turn to hedonism as a coping mechanism/

The last badnik's English name is Spikes. There is another game called Unfair Platformer,and it has Spring Yard's music exclusive to it! And there is a cheat in the options menu that adds a seventh chaos emerald and you can go super.Note that Super Sonic in this with the cheat activated looks like Sonic 2's Super Sonic.

Too bad I didn't get to this LP sooner, anyways I just found out the unamed badniks english name, Sega of America just got lazy and named him Spikes, yes I am serious thats what his english name is they didn't even bother to name him something different from the obstactles that are called spikes they just named him spikes even though there was already an obstactle that was already carrying that name.

Not that Im aware of. They just wanted to stick some English words in to make it look cool (Japanese consider English words cool much like we do Japanese words). Cope means to deal with. Up means up. On means on. And CPU means Cenral Processing Unit. Pretty basic stuff.
@SolarisParadox14 жыл бұрын
@ 8:17 You couldn't get into the Special Stage from Scrap Brain Zone even if you were good enough to finish with 50 rings. The Special Ring won't appear in that zone.
@SpyrosKoronis Жыл бұрын
Makes sense in story. That zone is Robotnik's lab and he's searching for the Emeralds, so if Special Rings appeared there he might have gotten them already.

If Yadorin has an English name, its really stupid- Spikes. I have a Sonic the Hedgehog board game, and it occured to me literally 10 minutes before I posted this, that on the game's badnik tokens, all them have their names, and Yadorin, as well as Moto Bug, Ball Hog and Jaws were all on there. Yadorin's tokens have the name of "Spikes". Take the info as you will, lol.
