If I were to meet a KZbinr I’d probably just say hi or something (if its natural) and then later tell my friends I saw them. When I was younger....that would probably be a different story. I think kids just get really excited and don’t think about it. I mean, after all, they’ve only heard/seen you through a screen. So when they see you in the real world, you’re like a fictional character come to life.

Like, who wants to actually tell other adults, especially their peers when they're older that they make a living playing video games all day for a young audience on the internet? When they grow up 90% of them will realize oh hey I need to get a real job Im not gonna get paid to play video games. I just think it's sad that kids these days would rather watch someone else play a game instead of experiencing the game for themselves. One of the greatest things video games have to offer as a medium is the player's ability to influence what happens in it.
@DonaldFromKingdomHearts6 жыл бұрын
I mean I get it. It's almost like a way of socializing. That's how we're built. We like seeing people's reactions to things. Besides people who see and like the game usually get them themselves too. People who watch let's plays are usually into video games. So they'll also play themselves, watch video game news, anything video game related. I spend a lot of time watching let's plays but also playing for myself, talking about video games and design, developing etc etc Nothing says that you can only do one or the other
@surprisedchar24585 жыл бұрын
It’s more that video games are pretty expensive in terms of both hardware and software. Remember that Fortnite and minecraft are packed with kids because you can run both on a toaster and one of them is free. Most people I know, myself included, didn’t start playing a lot of games until we were 15-16 which is when we started working. Plus it’s more productive, healthier, and usually cheaper to encourage other hobbies like arts, or sports, or music. I mean what would you rather be paying as a parent? $250 plus $60-$90 a pop for a console and games, or for some cheap starter art supplies, or a one time payment on a flute?
