The reason why ladylike is still a thing is that BuzzFeed is a company that mass-produces videos so they could release time on a weekly basis if necessary for months on end. Like they're probably still on videos that they filmed four to five months prior.

I really feel like there is a whole Era of Buzzfeed that is coming to an end. Safiya left, The Try Guys left, a bunch of people were laid off, Chantel left, The Ghoul Boys left and took Steven with them. I'm sure there's more that I don't know. I'm really just waiting to hear that the rest of Ladylike, Worth It, and so many more people have left. I have I feel like I'm going to stop watching Buzzfeed soon because no one is there that I like. It’s not odd when people leave jobs. But when everyone leaves the channel seemingly the same time and there isn’t an explanation it sounds like they didn’t have a choice in leaving even if they did found other things to do. I am pretty sure Buzzfeed ended Ladylike due to low views these days (Devin also commented how it’s difficult to have a company that works on KZbin so I think that was a reference of things not going well). Some of girls might have been able to keep some jobs at Buzzfeed if they wanted but it’s pretty unclear at this point. And even if they did keep jobs at Buzzfeed leaving their own channel is practically a demotion.

Gadget Hackwrench they are paid the equivalent of a full time salary, they just don’t get benefits. Basically, the “perma” part of permalanced means their position is indefinite and there’s no hard ending date for their project, and the “lancer” part is because they’re a freelancer, eg they are an independent contractor. This has tax and benefits implications (no benefits unlike a salaried worker and their employer probably doesn’t take taxes out of their lump sum payments so they have to pay their own taxes at the end of the year.) I’m basing this off my experience as a freelancer.

Sooo I took a nice little year(ish) hiatus from the internet. I used to watch a fuck ton of KZbin and stuff before, and then unfortunately I had a SERIOUS medical problem.. my intestines perforated and I almost damn near died. *AKA: I had a hole in my intestines which means everything was leaking out of my intestines into my abdominal cavity and I ended up having 4 MAJOR surgeries within a span of a week and landed myself hospitalized for a month. I left the hospital with an ileostomy bag and a 6 INCH OPEN INCISION across my stomach that required a machine called a woundvac. That machine basically means I have a nurse come to my house every 2 days and re-pack that massive 6 inch long incision with a sponge-like material with a vacuum suction completely sealing everything. The vacuum suction is attached to a tube leading into the woundvac, so as my body is trying to heal all of the... Blood/juices inside my gaping wound are being sucked out so it stays nice and clean and better able to heal itself. So yes, every few days I went through agonizing pain to rip off that tape, unpack my wound, clean it, and re-pack it. That alone lasted about 4 months. And just for a better mental image.. yeah it was about 5 to 6 inches in length but it was also extremely deep. Like almost an entire hand ✋ deep. IT FUCKING SUCKED. And yes I actually did try to make that as "least gross" as possible because I promise you that's only 5% of the entire story as it is.* Anyways after that pointless story... After all of that you can imagine how rough a shape I was in. No mental energy so being on my phone and watching KZbin wasn't the first thought to cross my mind for awhile. Not until I was in the clear of not passing away from all of that. So once I was able to actually comprehend what was going on around me and actually focus my attention again, I was able to get back into my entertainment. I could never find any new videos of your fucking HILARIOUS group of badass individuals. So I gave up. But about a month ago I saw you and some of the other ladies in videos and realized why I hadn't been seeing anything! It doesn't help that I forgot all of my passwords and had to remake my social accounts. Plus I'm a dumbass and I'm forgetful from all the anesthesia so I totally forgot a lot of my favorite creators. Sorry for rambling on, I'm just happy to have stumbled upon you and the other ladies and their content. I want you all to thrive and be happy and healthy and loving what you all do!

You might not like this, but this is how: bleach your hair until it thins. Then get it thinned with a razor comb and layered to accommodate clip in extensions (even if you don't use them, that's how you want it layered.) Then blow dry and scrunch with wax. There you go, that's how.

It’s funny, I’m in my early twenties and can completely relate. While my peers were on Vine and scoping out the sick new memes, I was way too focused on other things to keep up. I can only really relate to the people a bit older to me, and it can be overwhelming being around other early twenty-somethings. They make jokes I absolute do not understand, and expect me to complete the meme. I feel like I’m the forty-year-old in a sea of teenagers. I’m now in a job where I’m dealing with people 25 and up who aren’t hip with it. It’s beautiful.
