When u said it was related to 13 reasons why my heart got sad. I read the book for a class back when it was said Selena Gomez was going to be Hannah and it was going to be a movie. I really loved the book. I listened to Hannah’s poem on repeat for a month because I discovered the playlist of parts being read aloud. I am so disgusted with how the show was handled on its sensitive parts that I refuse to give it the light of day. I’m glad someone is trying to revive the amazing and powerful story through song. I discovered Little Miss Perfect bc when I started watching TOH and I looked it up on instagram this song appeared in so many memes and I had NO idea what was going on so I decided to listen to it and boy was I missing out. I saw this video in my recommended and she asked for more info on TOH so let's go- "The Owl House" is an animated series on Disney Channel, basically following a socially awkward teen named Luz on her journey to become a witch. The song "Little Miss Perfect" got so popular with The Owl House because this song relates so much to Amity, a recurring character on the show. Amity was at first an antagonist, but later on becomes one of Luz's friends and is seen to be showing her soft side. Now that you know a bit about the show, I'll explain why it relates SO MUCH to Amity herself: 1. Throughout the beginning of the series, we see Amity literally being "Little Miss Perfect". In episode 3, "I Was a Teenage Abomination", we find out that she is the top student in her class, and that she get's straight a's. Throughout the song, the person singing constantly says "straight a's". Adding to number one, we see in episode 7 "Lost in Language", we see that Amity doesn't want to be mean. When Luz finds her diary, there is a page revealed to us where Amity says, "I don't want to come off as rude, I just..can't show weakness". When she "doesn't show weakness", she can appear rude, or more so, blunt and straight forward. 2. In episode 15, "Understanding Willow", we find out that Amity stopped being friends with Willow due to the fact that Willow was behind, and a late starter with her magic abilities. However, she was forced to stop being friends with her because of this reason due to her parents. Her parents set such a high expectation of her, she believes she has to be "Little Miss Perfect" all the time. 3. In episode 16 "Enchanting Grom Fight", we find out that Amity's deepest fear was being rejected by her crush. Later in the episode, we find out that all along, her crush was none-other than the socially awkward human Luz. This, relates to the LGBTQ+ shown in the song, as the girl singing talks about how she has a crush on the girl. However, because Luz is a human, I can see a possibility where Amity's parents are unaccepting. This could relate to the voice, as Amity's parents could be that voice. I also see a possibility where Amity herself is the voice or face, as said in the lyrics, that tells her it's not worth it. Near the end of the episode, we see Amity looking kind of sad and unsure about something as she sits in her window. 4. Amity's straight hair is the only thing straight about her, am I right? There are MANY other reasons why this song could and does relate to Amity and the TOH fandom in general, but these are the big ones. Thank you for reading, and I hope this helped you!

Their names are Runaan and Ethari, and they are honestly revolutionary in terms of MLM representation in cartoons. Both are masculine guys that aren’t afraid of being outwardly affectionate, and have a lot of depth and are practically essential to the story line. Runaan is the leader of the Moonshadow Elf assassins, and because of that he’s discouraged from showing practically any emotion, and is very stiff and uptight. Ethari is a craftsman, he’s very laid-back and in touch with his feelings, unlike his husband. we don’t know their canon love story yet (but we are getting it in season 4 WHICH CANNOT COME SOONER) but most people theorize/headcanon that runaan and ethari has a very similar love story to Amity and Luz (with runaan being the canon dork/gay disaster and ethari playing oblivious). plus... most people call this one the next ATLA... 👀 GIVE IT A WATCH IM BEGGING YOU

And to top it all off, I'm bisexual, and what kept me from coming out was being the little miss perfect and my fear of what would happen. Thank you for talking about this! This song is so special to me because it's really relatable and honest. I'm a closeted lesbian at least to my family and I'm honestly always scared of them finding out and hating me and judging me for who I like. I have an awesome girlfriend and I feel like if they found out they wouldn't let me see her anymore. This song gave me something related to musical theater that I could really relate to and it helped me feel a bit more comfortable with who I am which is really great.

I listened to Little Miss Perfect for the first time a few days ago and I did almost tear up because it took me back to that time when I (as well as other people around me) put too my pressure on myself to be great at everything. Precisely my focus as a writer for kids and YA is to validate these feelings and experiences which adults tend to overlook and minimize. I'm excited for the entire musical already.
