Salty food is hard to fix. I don’t play with salt either, Tab! Dollar Tree has a Salt Free I LOVE to use! It has granulated garlic, minced onion, orange peel, black pepper, crushed red pepper, parsley and lemon oil!! It’s AMAZING on veggies! 2.5 oz for only a dollar. I buy a bunch of em when they’re in stock. They also have a bunch of other salt free essentials like parsley, chives and basil that I love to grab too depending on bulk price elsewhere......but that’s my business, just thought I’d share. You can really save some money if your buying a variety 🤗

I think the best seasoning is Morton's nature's seasoning where it has a blend of black pepper, garlic, parsley, celery seed, onion flavor, and it's just a pinch of salt but it's not heavy.and I sprinkle it on a lot of different things maybe because I don't have high blood pressure I don't have high cholesterol I do not have diabetes, or hypertension I don't have anything wrong with my thyroid nothing wrong with my kidneys liver,or anything else that make it where I cannot enjoy a little salt every now and then. But for those who can't they can enjoy the herbs. One of my favorite herbs is wild Oregano's, Parsley, Rosemary, onion powder, turmeric, white pepper, basil, Italian herb, dried dill, dried, ground coriander, wild sage, fresh thyme. Just the name quite a few that has been my favorite over 20 some years. 🤔🥰💜💯‼️💋🖤❤️💚😇📺💯
@dyoung27393 жыл бұрын

First, thank you for sharing! I enjoy your videos so much. Always such good stuff! Please keep being your fabulous self, and sharing with us! I saw many comments asking for more info about salt-free seasonings so, i thought I would share what i have tried and use. I have hypertension and have to watch my sodium intake. It's taken yrs of trial and error to find seasoning combos that are salt-free but, still flavorful. I completely get what some are saying in the comments, about some things still being bland. Try adding some acid to it. Lemon or lime juice, vinegar or balsamic..even flavored balsamics. Not a lot of acid. Just enough to help brighten and bring out the other flavors. I use a lot of coconut aminos in place of soy sauce too. So far, my preferred brand for that is Coconut Secret aminos. My favorite flavor is the Garlic Sauce. It has some ginger and chili sauce in it. I do use several of the Mrs. Dash blends. I also like Spike No Salt Vegit Seasoning a lot. It has a pretty good blend of seasonings and herbs. Bragg Organic Sprinkle Seasoning is a no salt seasoning blend that is good as well. I recently stumbled on Tony Chachere's Famous Creole No Salt Seasoning Blend. It is so good on meats and seafood!! I have even sprinkled it on my salad greens, when i make a good garden salad. I am allergic to MSG so, none of the seasoning blends i use contain it. Hope it helps those who also have to, or want to watch their sodium intake. Blessings to you all. Stay safe!!

I don't have any family health issues around sodium and my blood pressure is fine, but I appreciate salt-free seasonings because it lets you control the saltiness when you salt it separately. I grew up in a hpuse where all herbs and spices were added one at a time and often came straight from the garden, never in blends, but when I moved out and I needed to start building my seasoning collection, I realized (1) I had less cabinet space and (2) it would cost a fortune to buy everything all at once. Enter seasoning blends! But salty seasonings don't always give you the right flavor balance. If I need more garlic and herb, but the salt is already perfect, and you add more garlic and herb salt blend, it's going to be nasty. Salt-free seasoning is best here. And I grew up vegetarian in the South, so my mom uses smoked paprika all the time as an alternative to bits of cured ham. By the way, I just made tomato sandwiches with Very Good Garlic (and salt separately) on my fresh homemade bread, and it's really nice! Also, being a respiratory therapist who treats a lot of pulmonary edema related to heart failure due to chronic hypertension, I understand that it's important to address hypertension early... And that my black patients are at higher risk for hypertension. White doctors and healthcare providers can preach all they want to black people about lifestyle changes and the dangers of traditional soul food, but I feel like it's more impactful coming from a black person. We need more black healthcare providers, but the message can also come from black home cooks who are open about their own experience with family health history.
