Not to diss on your opening, love the retelling of the most famous tragedy in history, but I don't think we'll get a huge mention of Plagueis. Rather, we might gets hints of his family name of Damask who were powerful members of the Intergalactic Banking Clan. Such were the targets for the Sith to gain more power and influence as they slowly infected the Republic like a venom. It has been confirmed that The Acolyte will take place in 132 BBY which would make Hugo Damask (aka Plagueis) at about 15 years old. He would still be training in the ways of the Sith. The prominent Sith Lord of this time period would be his master, Darth Tenebrous. Let's just hope that Kennedy won't screw this up. The backlash that Disney will get over it could spell disaster if they do.

As someone who has all the books I can confirm this is the end of the golden age of the jedi and the Republic so in Lord Of The Rings terms this is the beginning of the downfall of Numanor and notice that the acolyte isn't using the dark side or a lightsaber to kill jedi until the end of the trailer it's because that would give her away

Well, since they showed a red lightsaber on the trailer, that means ALL THESE CHARACTERS HAVE TO DIE. Qui Gon's first engagement with Maul was explicitly stated as the first sighting of a Sith since Ruusan, which means none of these Jedi can survive to tell their story, otherwise coninuity is broken. But to be fair, I don't think Disney cares, specially after the Obi-Wan series completly contradicted stablished cannon and they did It anyway.
