I really love how you promote using products sparingly, just the amount you need. It is very refreshing 😊 I'm finishing shampoo before conditioner. I double cleanse because it doesn't feel clean after one wash. I have thin hair but lots of it. I use the same pink soft scalp scrubber Amanda got you onto ages ago to get right in there haha. Parts of my scalp are really sensitive so the scalp scrubber is amazing. Thank you for the hard water/soft water explanation. My hair is incredibly soft and we have soft water. It is hard to wash the conditioner out and now I know why 😁 Yes please do another livestream. Im not upset at all. I have 2 kids and im sure all of us understand business as long as you are both taking care of yourselves first.

My double/triple cleanse is: shampoo (alternate clarifying/Nizoral/color care depending on need) applied to dry scalp, let sit a few minutes before getting in the shower and scrubbing out; curl shampoo with a minute or so of scalp massage with a scrubby brush; then Riso's curls ACV rinse, which gives a nice foam to finish the cleanse. My scalp's been really happy the past several months 😅 especially now I've been following your advice about drying being necessary for scalp health, too!

It’s nice to see someone share the same view for Olaplex as me! I have thick, coarse, wavy low porosity wavy hair and I find myself always going back to Olaplex products. I’ve tried other products and while like one or two products gave me better results, the smell of them ends up being way too much and I get a horrible headache. Olaplex’s fragrance never makes my nose twinge or gives me a headache which I appreciate 😭. I know they’re technically meant for people who have more damaged hair, but idk compared to other brands I’ve tried, it’s much more consistent in my hair. I mainly use the No.5, No. 6, and No. 9, and I’m testing the 5 Leave In right now. The 9 is my favorite and I’m really liking the 5 leave in right now.
@hattiea4 ай бұрын
Hi Mell, would love a video on all of the Olaplex line if not done already - it’s a minefield of products! For example, you mentioned using the number 8 as an alternative to that 4-1 that’s only available to professional hair stylists. I have found a place where I can buy in the UK but don’t understand the instructions. It says to use once a week, leave on for 10 minutes and then rinse out - is this used as an alternative to deep conditioner? Would love your take on this. I would also love to know about clarifying your hair after swimming - I’m due to go on holiday soon where I’ll be swimming everyday. I previously used a co wash but remember that you no longer use this. Any advice would be amazing! Thank you and appreciate you girl 😊 apologies for the rant! 😅

Ooh, can you also review the Redken Acidic bonding line? They also came out with curl specific products with the same technology. I have extremely damaged hair (especially at the roots) from trichotillomania. K18 actually made my hair worst as well as Verb's bonding mask. But Redken's acidic bonding actually made a difference. Olaplex helps a bit but the Redken one actually worked for me. Also Nexxus came out with a bonding treatment that is supposed to be used the same way as K18. I have tried it and while I don't notice a huge improvement it also hasn't ruined my hair the same way K18 did. I do really like Nexxus's Karatin repair line. Can you review if their bonding treatment is a good affordable K18 dupe?

The part about the k18 shampoo that is interesting is that I love that one and it is my go to clarifying shampoo. I didn't ever try the olaplex clarifying shampoo as I didn't like their regular one, my hair would get so dry that I gave it away. But I do love the olaplex bond repair.

Now, with my greys;I do use a box brown due to rapid re growth …. my hair is super soft and still healthy as I’ve kicked into my 6th decade 🤪 My long winded point; I’m going to keep one of those applicator bottles with the nozzle and put shampoo in it … absolutely agree with you regarding ‘no shampoo nozzles’ . 👏🏻🥰 Thank you MWAA🙋🏻♀️🇦🇺❤️🩷🧡

11:05 I just bought the Aveda Nutriplenish Light Moisture Shampoo since I had a gift card for the store I bought it from. I really needed a moisturizing shampoo. They don't sell the rich moisture one here probably because the majority of the population has super coarse straight hair (East Asia) but I'm black and have type 4 hair. According to the website light moisture was the right one for me though. It claims that fine and medium coily hair types should use light moisture. Right now, I'm satisfied. Much better than my previous shampoo which was sulfate free yet super drying. My clarifying shampoo wasn't even that drying smdh.

I have a few video suggestions/requests for you: I saw you reviewed a few Kristen Esse products in the past. Can you review their curl Jelly? It's not a texture you normally like but it has a really unique ingredient so interesting enough. Can you also do a video highlighting the difference between Verb's curl cream and their hydrating styling cream? Last but not least, can you explain the difference (if there is any) between Curl/Styling creams and Air-dry creams. I have air-dried with normal curl creams and diffused with "air-dry" creams and haven't really noticed a major difference. Is there anything different chemical/ingredient-wise or is it just marketing BS?

I have really hard water. Even with two shower-filters on I still have to shampoo two or three times to get a foam. And the filters don't last 6 months like they claim. For me they last more like 3 months. I know there are chelating shampoos I can use once in a while. Are there shampoos I can use to combat hard water but use every time I shower? The shower-filters help, but they're not perfect so I still need to use my chelating/clarifying shampoo nearly every time I shower

It’s a little pricey but the Ouai detox shampoo advertises having vinegar in there to cut hard water residue. I have hard water but likely not as much as your describing but keeping this shampoo in my rotation seems to help. I have medium to course 3a - 3c curls that tends to lean dry, for reference.
