“When only the good die young,ain’t it ironic how I age so well?” That has to be the cleverest chorus in history,absolutely underrated song it’s criminal that more people haven’t heard it.

it's because the way this universe works. the entire universe doesn't have access to all sources of music, people can be satisfied by sub par music if they've never listened to 'good' music. basically, it's because people can be satisfied without searching for more music. they're good artists, I only found them because a friend recommended them to me.

I met Jason at the vclub where I live once and he was one of the most wonderful people I had ever met. I had 12 inch Liberty spikes. He called me out and dedicated a song to me then after the show he came down in the crowd and I talked to him about how he beat cancer, which is amazing, and I hugged him twice. Just such a all around rad dude. Come back to Huntington please.

I feel like he fights to make his way up on top of a pedestal in order to be loved but ultimately finds that when he steps off the pedestal to be someone real he is rejected. Its that duality of being a public figure that everyone loves and being a person that is forgettable and fades away. It's about hysteria and hypocrisy. They adore him on the pedestal but off the pedestal he's treated like a second rate citizen. He black faces himself (which is ok in this case since he has the ancestry) to drive home the way he's seen as a nothing, and to harness the symbolism of 'the big bad black man' that haunts white america's dreams.
@withinrust11 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I can definitely see what you're saying, and Jason's great with double meanings so I certainly wouldn't be surprised if both interpretations were being inferred here.
@croes.soraida5 жыл бұрын
Spoken like a strong heart and mind!! He must have had such a rough childhood, there's a little about it on his wikipedia story, but you can definitely hear it all back in his lyrics. He has very strong ones in his newer project Fever 333 aswel! Definitely worth checking it out!

We've got millions of broken necks from looking up at you So get your damn soapbox standing High horse prancing ass down here with the truth So don't let those admirers try and fit your shoes Because they will then see one size fits All feet and then they will walk all over you When only to good die young Ain't it ironic I age so well To be the last man standing at the kissing booth That really doesn't mean a thing when they're For free and don't taste like they should So after you're done drowning in a glass that is half full The pessimists all join together and discuss How you never could do it like they could When only the good die young Ain't it ironic I age so well You and me are a kitschy parody of sincerity, apparently Truth is heat, we're burning underneath our seats Burning me for not standing I love I love myself I love I love myself my self abandonment When only the good die young Ain't it ironic I age so well

I don't know if I'm right with my evaluation of what the song/video means but it gives me the impression that they are trying to show that power or influence that is gained through destructive or violent means can lead to the kind of downward spiral that follows in the video, e.g being corrupted by such power leading him to go kinda crazy... I might be wrong but that's what I get from it
