As a big Shen fan since Loodi from outside Jamaica who didn't really know she was facing such criticism from Jamaicans... I think it is very legitimate. The reason I even found this is because I'm disappointed and feel she is wasting her talent and was just searching to see if the internet agrees. Not all criticism comes from a bad place. She is entirely free to do her thing but this pop music turn isn't doing her any favors... it's not very good and I doubt she is gaining fans from it, maybe just getting a bag from featuring with Americans. She should continue to do what feels right to her, but I definitely long for the return of dancehall Shenseea.

4:24 now, the reason that if you go to the US for eg. and try to do R&B/Hip-Hop, it doesn't connect easily is because for ONE, it is NOT your natural genre and there are ways to sing, rap things plus what is said and how it is said. Might be easier to get one of them totally write a song and coach you in the booth. Another thing, if they didn't know you on the come up, there will be a disconnect. It worked for Sean Paul, Shaggy because they carried the Jamaican base with them using dancehall, that gave them a foundation that then pulled in the urban market.

She can only flop if she allow herself to flop, when you are doing buisness you take risk and the only failure is when you stop pursuing your dreams.

Not flop. In Jamaican terms. Flop is the record company America term. The gave her a loan and I’m pretty sure they didn’t make the money back off the loan.

I kind of understand what Jaii a try to seh, but Shenseea is the right one. You can't make your own expectations of people and get mad that they don't do what you want them to do. I feel like Shenseea is actually opening additional doors for more caribbean artists because of the success road she is on. Big up & respect to her, the music industry is not easy & she's been doing amazing.

Fi real Shenseea don’t let anyone make you feel like you can’t explore a different genre, it’s what you feel as an artist at that moment.

17:03! PREACH!!!!!! I love most of the Shenseea songs that don't get the attention they deserve so I def agree that some people will vibe while others aren't.
