My late wife was bi polar/borderline personality disorder etc. And i went through the same type of "sleep with one eye open" bs, taking care of people with mental illness is not easy to say the least, unfortunately those who try to help them the most usually become the ones they begin to blame for their underlying illness and "bad decisions". I know it sounds mean but its the truth, i struggled to save my wife from her self destructive behavior for 7yrs and what did i get for my troubles? A few scars on the outside, mental trauma on the inside and loneliness in the end. It takes a strong person to love someone who is mentally ill, if you haven't experienced it you couldn't understand the struggle involved and the sacrifices those who do make on a daily basis. You do everything you can to help them and they will probably hate you for it.

Thank you for sharing and I'm sorry to hear of your struggles. Did you find anything that helped the borderline/bi polar symptoms in your wife? I'm worried someone I love has the same illness.
@heavymetalredneck7973
@heavymetalredneck7973 Жыл бұрын
@@chloe964 unfortunately no, bipolar people tend to stop taking their meds when they are manic as they feel higher than any drug can make them, that's the hardest part when dealing with them, they avoid meds because it brings them down. I struggled for years trying to help my late wife but eventually I became her enemy for doing nothing more than trying to help her help herself. Its a real struggle.
@chloe964

Shoot. Well, something to think about. Thanks for sharing.
@heavymetalredneck7973
@heavymetalredneck7973 Жыл бұрын
@@chloe964 my only advice is to try and stay strong for them even when they seem like they aren't trying and or are fighting against you, im sure some people with these types of mental health issues (bipolar type 1 with rapid cycling) try their best to stay on track, but my late wife seemingly did everything to agitate her condition. I constantly found her stash of hidden bottles of vodka, pills, drugs of every type and of course knives, razor blades and even broke pieces of glass (she was a prolific cutter). I worked full time so i couldn't be home 24/7 to try and intervene in her constant "bad decisions", the stress i was under was already unimaginable but it increased 10 fold when our son was born. Sorry for the rant but I still get anxiety just thinking back to those days.

I can appreciate that 1st story. Many rx meds made me raging suicidal and homicidal. Then when I would report the side effects to the doctor; their genius idea was to up the dose or give me another drug that made it even worse with zero washout phase. @@tablescissors No. I've continued with psychologists but definitely not psychiatrists. I've had 30 years of therapy to help me with the cptsd and d.i.d. Psychiatry has never once helped me. If you don't know who Dr Peter Breggin is; he's a wealth of information on psychiatry. And go watch some DSM Committee Hearings and see how they create the DSM with your own eyes. And also research the history of psychiatry. It's very educational and when you're like me and experience much of what is covered; it makes sense. Drugs that kill brain synapses are not how I want to treat mental health issues.

OMG the second story is about my friend Gregory Dolezal.💔💔💔 They all would be alive today if it wasn’t for the court in Pennsylvania. The murdering asshole had assault charges against him and if I remember correctly child in danger meant. And the damn court let the asshole out on bond. I knew at some point. Just want to say @Story 8, I truly hope that one wasn't real. Because, if there was a suspicious Lyft driver who had intentions of killing him, he SHOULD have IMMEDIATELY called 911 and then notified Lyft. I get there's a bit of a flight or fight response and it's hard to think clearly, but while you escaped, someone else could be murdered. PLEASE: if you ever have any encounters like this, call 911 and alert any relevant companies like a ride share company.

So first story, idk where they live but in Columbus Ohio, if you don't have a job or don't make a lot of money you can qualify for medicaid, you can choose care source or molina. You can then go to any doctor that accepts those insurances and you'll get your visits and meds for free. All you have to do is go online and submit an application. It's saved me and my daughter's lives, we can go to the doctor, the dentist, anything really.
