That story about that girls grandpa made me remember something horrible that happened at my bday slumber party when i was 11 or 12 my mom's boyfriend at the time had been SA me and that night he tried to do the same thing to all my friends that were at the sleepover. I cried the whole time. My friends all got scared and called their parents to come get them. I went through the abuse till i was 13 and my grandparents got custody of me. They were mad at my mom cuz i tried to tell her before hand what he had been doing to me but she called me a liar to my face and said damn it you little bitch why do you have to ruin everything for me huh why can't you just be happy for me. I'll never ever forget it. He used to buy me stuffed animals even said if i kept my mouth shut he'd buy me a puppy. I was puking all the time after it would happen. I still have nightmares about it and I'm 43. And the worst part is he got away with it. He was a truck driver and had photo albums he showed me of kids ages 4 to 16 they were shower photos and other gross kinds of photos I'd rather not talk about on here. I was scared to death of him for alot of reasons otherwise i would've went to the cops. I saw a guy in the comments of a yt video not that long ago with the same last name of this guy who did all this and it triggered me hard i had the worst panic attack ever. I don't think I'll ever forget what he did. I'm working with a therapist now and it's helping a little. But i pray for anyone who has to go through anything like that. I hate animal abusers child abusers guys who hurt woman those are 3 things i hate the most. Stay safe out there everyone. I'm a mother and i know if anyone ever hurt my child in any way i would fly off the handle. And no I'm not blaming this video or Let's Read for that story triggering me. I had no idea a story like that would be in this video. I just wanted to say that because i don't want someone reading this and saying well you didnt have to listen to this video cuz i know there are some people online that get upset easy and i don't want anyone thinking I'm blaming anyone for this memory being remembered due to the story. It happens and I'm fine it just made me remember that awful night is all. Nobody is to blame. And i hope the girl in that story is doing better now.. Please if you know anyone going through something like that say something don't be afraid and keep it in like i did. I blamed myself for a long time about what happened to me and i still do but me and my therapist are working on that. I love your content Joel keep up the good work.

They were selling drugs out of their home and were clearly addicted to it themselves. All that with a child in the house. Weed might be mild, but drugs are drugs. You recieve what you deserve. You do not take or grow non-medical drugs when other people, especially children, are around. Still, your body, your choice. Just don't make that choice around others who do not consent. Tabacco smokers should especially heed this this. They will not though. At the end of the day, if you need non-medical drugs (or alcohol) to get through the day, you are pathetic. You may have a sympathetic reason and I would pity you and wish that you got help and a better situation, but you are still pathetic. Besides, some of us, on top of lung problems, hate the stench of the stuff. On saying that though, I think America and the UK's War on Drugs is a collosal waste of money and time. Drugs should be regulated, like medication. The seriousness with which the UK treats pot is ridiculous. They even put it down to a class C drug for a time and a LESS people took it.

Most stories were very captivating but sad. There was just one that kind of didn't feel like it even needed to be included - about those girls that chatted online and some older guys didn't get shocked that they were minor - don't get me wrong, that's creepy as hell but still nothing even happened, just stating that lots of strangers online are pervs, which, compared to the rest of the stories didn't really measure up. The girl that was only invited to a sleepover to be bullied and almost killed - that one hit very close to home. I was severely bullied in 6th grade, and in the summer a girl from the clique that tormented me called to apologize and invited me to the beach. I stupidly went and they almost drowned me as a "joke" - I couldn't swim well and they deliberately pushed me and held my head underwater, until some kind stranger noticed them and shouted at them to stop...

God, if my kids friends parents ever laid a finger on my child and/or screamed in their face I would stomp over to their house made them wish they were never born. That second true story was quite literally a moronic child having a tantrum cause his mom wasn't with what i presume her ex husband. Didn't deserve all that stress and trouble his dad caused but also 1000% needed to happen to teach the kid about what his dad was truly like.
@jennifermcdonald54322 жыл бұрын
I have no idea how old you are, but if you are an adult, you definitely need a HUGE amount of therapy! Firstly, the kid has every right, and should have every right to talk to his Dad about who is in his home. The Mother should have had the sense to visit the other guy anywhere else! Obviously the Father needed a lot of therapy himself, but the kid should NEVER have to deal with adult issues. Any kid learns about who his parents are over their growing up, not being forced to participate in life and death situations ffs! Omg, you couldn’t be further from the truth!
@hallowedthehoovymama32852 жыл бұрын
@@jennifermcdonald5432 This is true for children who are not endangered by parents who are mentally unstable or criminals. If one of the parents is a criminal or mentally unstable (as in the story dictates) then what the kid did is not ok. Additionally, the father was not allowed in the home, it was the mother's house. A joint custody situation of the child. Any child that goes through this doesn't deserve it. However, the child did something that endangered his and his mother's life, because he was upset that his mom clearly was not going to get back with his dad. That is not smart. When you have experience being in situations with unhealthy people, who do not react in a healthy manner, telling them what their ex is doing is not the safe thing to do. If the father was a mentally healthy person, then yes, communicating and feeling safe to share that information is 100% ok.

I never got the chance to attend sleepovers as a kid. I didn't have that many friends before high school, not to mention the few sleepovers held at my house were spent with my parents child wrangling girls from lower income families long after I had gone to sleep. My favorite story was the one with the abusive mother; reminded me of my father, a politician who is better at caring for his city than he is for his family, as for all of his hypocrisy and love of scaring me into obedience, he is not physically abusive. Just because scars are invisible does not mean they fade.

Story 9. Is absolutely sickening! The mental Mother who abused the kid for watching voodoo dolls on Scooby Doo, is so incredibly bad! That woman calls herself a Christian, I bet, and she couldn’t be a worse example of a Christian! I’m sure the Lord turns his face from people like that!

She was probably a god fearing Christian
@jennifermcdonald54322 жыл бұрын
@@charlottestreet3301 that is such a trite reply! So you believe a God fearing Christian, grabs another woman’s child and beats her? Also screams abuse at her own child? I would have thought she would turn the tv off, then sit quietly with both children and explain her feelings about them watching that stuff! But I suppose you think beating and screaming at young children is a much better example of good Christian behaviour. Crazy, thoughtless, pretend Christian!

@@jennifermcdonald5432 I don't believe in God or heaven or hell an no I don't like how she was going to beat her own child just because of her vivers that why I called her that

In story 4, it sounds like Jenny’s dad left her mom because she was into all that mystical, pseudoscience crap. He couldn’t take all that nonsense anymore.

The first story enrages me.. They really sent the whole police force to breakdown their door because they had a pot plant.. And then broke up a family for two years over it.

You're one of my favorite narrators! I constantly have videos playing on my phone, and it is always you, and two or three other narrators. My husband constantly says "Oh never mind, you're listening to your voices again, aren't you?". So now my whole family calls you "my voices". Lol

For the story about the "hardcore Christian mom" slapping another kid for watching Scooby Doo, no. That is not just how life is sometimes. That mom was psychotic. My parents were hardcore Christians and we definitely had way different rules than other kids but our friends loved sleeping over at our house, even if we didn't have video games and couldn't watch any movies with certain content. My sister is even more strict with her kids sometimes (not allowed to watch Harry Potter, limited screen time, no swearing allowed, "Yes, ma'am. No, sir" etc.) and my mom had some weird rules (boys and girls couldn't swim in the same pool after a certain age) but she would never slap a kid across the face, or even scream at them like that. Her kids might get a stern talking to in private and then all kids would be directed to another activity. Even if it warranted a punishment, it would be after the kid left or the parents were called and the wrongdoing explained for them to deal with as that kid's parents decided was appropriate.
