I'm 2 weeks post-hysterectomy. I had this idea that it was important to perform pelvic massage to help with the swelling. I was becoming overwhelmed with the tight feeling and pressure that I felt from the scar. I was so glad I found your videos just a few days ago. Your videos gave me the tools and confidence to know that my scar and pelvic strength can improve. I even feel a difference in just three days. Thank you so much for taking the time to post all of the videos that pertain to post-hysterectomy!

Hi! Thank you so much for all your videos. I'm having this surgery and am wondering when it is safe to start this. I looked it up and it said 2-3 weeks after surgery - is that correct?

Thanks for these videos. I've learned much more from you than I have from my own healthcare providers/system. I have been doing the breathing exercises and will soon try the other two in your exercise video. I'm a bit hesitant about the tissue massage for some of the reasons you mention and also because my scar is tucked under extra skin (apron belly?). Any suggestions? Thanks!

@@r-as6870 thanks for watching! Still address the scar with using finger tips in a perpendicular fashion on the incision if you are able to. Massaging it with your fingers can help.

Can I massage the scar after 9 months hysterectomy
@dr.dawnhealthypelvisАй бұрын
Yes as long as there are no infection signs and it’s healed. 9 months or 2 years after this can still make a difference!

Hi Doctor, thank you for this series of videos! Commenting here as I had a similar question. I’m about 7 months post op (total hysterectomy + BSO) and frequently have debilitating lower back to front lower abdomen pain. Almost exclusively on my right side. It’s almost like bad cramps! It isn’t random; it occurs when I’m on my feet a lot. I see a lot of videos on tips for immediately after the surgery but was struggling to find out what to do so many months after (and whether what I’m experiencing is normal!) I’m wondering if you’d consider a video specifically tailored to post hysterectomy issues long after the operation. It would be an invaluable resource (apologies if you have already addressed this and I simply didn’t find it!). Even just to let women (/AFAB) know that what they’re going through is normal, what needs medical intervention, and that there are at-home exercises we can do. Given the cost of healthcare in the US, your channel has been a wonderful resource for me as I cannot afford to see a physical therapist. Thanks again!!

That will happen when the nerves are regenerating and your sensation is returning.
