It's since been pointed out to me by the manufacturer that the SNES and PlayStation cables upscale an RGB output, not composite like I mention in the video. Cheers

It looks as if you got the older adapter boxes from the company before they became established as LevelHike. The newer boxes now have a switch on them to go from 16:9 to 4:3 when necessary.

Correct. This video was actually finished several months ago but we decided on holding off on uploading while the manufacturer sorted out online store links. There didn't seem much reason to upload if people couldn't even decide to buy them after watching the review.

Please explain me can I play Gran Turismo 4 in natively supported 1080i via these cables on PS2? Trying to play these game in Full HD 17 years now. Got High Quality golden plated component cable but there is lack of few lines and rows at the edges (1800x1000 apx) which annoying me. Want Full HD experience with these game and other KZbinrs don't understand my passion. Help! ;)

Unfortunately for myself the correct 4:3 aspect ratio trumps the higher quality graphics. 16:9 takes my focus off the clarity and just annoys me more than composite. Sega Dreamcast is hands down the best there can be when playing in 640x480 VGA mode.. A $10 cable from ebay will sort you out there.. The XBox is hands down the best there can me when playing with a component cable and the Xbox set to 720p. 720p looks much better and is more compatible than 1080i. I have my SNES modded for RGB out for 480p goodness. I only use my PS1 on a CRT because I really only use it to play Time Crisis. And Twisted Metal. Good video mate.

Unfortunately you can't find a component cable for Xbox without spending too much for it

lucabops just a cheap china Xbox component cable will do. I think I paid $10.

lucabops perfect. They are just a normal cable with wires in it. Nothing special about it. Works excellent. The colours are a million times better.

If you came here not knowing much about upscale information, please go to retrorgb.com. there you can learn how these scalers actually work, and you will understand how inferior they are to other options. Please do your research. Proper documentation is important.

Yes but the other options are more expensive - these are not and are perfectly fine. I myself have the more expensive options and some of these. These cables are fine - not everyone cares about perfection.

@@albey1816 look at 6:11 you can see the HDMI the whole entire screen has lines going down it and pulsing. it looks terrible compared to component.

How's the lag on the Dreamcast set? Seriously considering the upgrade (if it can be counted as such) from my generic VGA-to-HDMI Upscaler to save on wire space. My current setup is not particularly laggy from what I can tell, but every little bit helps - at least until I buckle down for the DCHDMI mod

you say the HDMI looks the same as component at 6:11 but i can clearly see the noise interference in the grass hills. look at all the wavy lines in the hills pulsing like crazy. component didnt do that.. thats a huge difference

I checked the description on Amazon and the SNES/PS cable should use RGB signal instead of composite signal. :)

I need all these. I can use component cables for my PS2 and use a special disk called a hd upscaler which you select the output resolution and then you insert the game and it works way better then without it.

Why do they fuck up the aspect ratio? That's enough to not want one. Not that I would get one as I don't have any of these consoles, but still. Man the Dreamcast games still look good.

Being in the UK, my play station doesn't have the composite option on my ps2. Only RGB and ypbpr where as I look on Americans KZbin videos and they have three options unless ypbpr is composite?

Oy, mate. Did PS2 games still had those slim black bars on the sides? I don't mean the usual black bars for 4:3, I mean the tiny slim black bars you usually get when you connect a PS2 to a non crt display. When I connect mine to my telly, it does that and the (annoying) manual change from 16:9 to 4:3, messes with the proportions. Cheers.
