Nice pick, not always easy as low levers sit on curtain.

I learnt my locksmith skills on a Matrix course....they only covered two in one 3 lever picking and conveniently left out curtain five lever locks.....that I had to self teach but like this skilled artisan says,nothing is more rewarding than mastering the skill of picking these bad boys open

In all honesty I don’t think they could teach you 5 lever picking in a course unless it’s an intense 1-1 session, but they should definitely at least cover the basics in my opinion

GxAxV I’ve only been trading for 3 years but now I’ve got experience behind me and the majority of tools I need, any hints or tips you can give about getting warrant work would be greatly appreciated. I know all utility companies/bailiffs will have their own contractors but is there any advice you can give about getting my foot in the door?

Have you tried picking the UAP maximum security 6 lever deadlock with it's weird bit key profile that looks like a cross? I had no luck. Sent it to Andy mac and he lost it or whatever.

Do you have a particular preference on what side of the curtain lock you pick from? I purchased one of those next generation curtain lock pick found it nice to handle but the lock I was practising with had spacers, this made it little difficult to determine between lever and spacer but I'm sure will another 50 hours I'll crack it lol. Sorry for the question on a video that's a year old but I'm getting through all your videos 1 by 1 👌😂

Not a problem mate, being a right hander I always feel more comfortable picking when the lock is left hand mounted. When it’s in a vice it’s not a problem, but in a real door when you have the frame to contend with etc yes I prefer looking at it from the left

Hey. Is there any chance I can change just the lock part mechanism inside of it by any chance? I moved in a shared accomodation and they don't have the key for it ( bedroom door) and it's an old one 76mm deep and like 95-96 mm tall( the inside part of it) and can't seem to find one. Most seem to be 65 mm deep. I don't want to go the total new replacement route with changes to the door as well. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

You wouldn’t be able to change any of the levers about unless it was from a same brand lock, and even then you’d need the keys for it to work sorry

Have you ever had a go at an Ingersoll M6?
@FortressLocksmiths
@FortressLocksmiths 2 жыл бұрын
I can’t say that I have, rare as hens teeth now apparently, I do have an Ingersoll here with the key that I’ve just not got round to having a go at. It’s got a removable sleeve, no curtain does that sound like the M6?

@@FortressLocksmiths if it has a keyhole in an unconventional position, then that’s the one. Yes, no curtain and 3 levers, bolt and another 3 levers.. quite a masterpiece and a real bastard to open! There were lots of them about when I started work in 77. I have some micro switch ones that are even weirder in that they are single sided so even harder to open. Am happy to send you one if you like, which you can of course keep Regards Michael
@FortressLocksmiths
@FortressLocksmiths 2 жыл бұрын
@@kirri2003 hi Micheal yes that’s the one, keyhole is basically in the middle of the lock and a bit to the left, I have heard about this sandwiched bolt, how would you go about picking this even with a 2/1? cause in theory you could pick the front 3 levers but then there’s no way of picking the back 3 unless you did it with hand wires? Very intriguing 😳

Another golden oldie that worked on that principle 3 plus 2 was the Yale M555 5 lever… more popular than the M6 but a real menace to open!!
