Blimey mate you've done well I used too own a citroen Dispatch and it was still not big enough my former tutor used own a Ford Transit and he used too do Domestic and Auto Locksmith work

To be honest Curtis, it does limit the amount of stock I can carry, however I am going to change the layout of the van racking soon to make is more user friendly which should give me more space for stock. I just don’t need to open section in the middle now as I no longer do auto work 👍🏼

Scott Fox said if the keys dont work after programming, disconnect the battery after the reprogram, then reconnect it and it resets the immobiliser. Cheers

I want to get in to locksmithing as a full time trade, startup money not an issue as have my own business at the mo but want to change for the foreseeable future, do you have any advice, im in se london, all the usual mortgage, business, only a few days free a week to train etc, but would love to make the jump over. Any advice appreciated cheers

The one course I would 100% recommended is Seth’s course from Fortress Locksmiths. However it is a 2 weeks course and in Blackburn so may not work for you? Or I do know that there is a new 2 day non destructive entry course starting very soon in Horsham which is much closer to you. Check it out here southuklocksmithtraining.com And then you could pop down to Hove and do one of my courses 😁

The plug puller is fantastic late at night. When you think you need to mickey mouse a lock but it is late, just pull the plug. No noise at all.

I am based in Kent and currently do electronic security, Alarms cctv and electronic door entry. Like you locks and lock picking interested me so I started getting a few bits of kit together, I don't advertise that I do it but most of my customers will call if they get locked out. I mainly have just got away with using a letterbox tool so far. Keep up the good work

I happened upon your videos yesterday and have watched most of them and subscribed. I find the videos highly watchable, I,m a chippy myself and have fitted locks all my life, I thought about doing a locksmithing course some 10 years ago but did nothing about it which I regret. I,m 67 now so I think I,v left it to late. keep it up.

Nice setup! One question, would you recommend getting both an SKS tempest and a cyclone for residential stuff and just using the 12v tempest in the van, or just a cyclone for both home / van use? I feel like the cyclone is a chunky beast and is going to take up too much space, thank you!! Being an ex carpenter must be a huge help in this job!

Hi Luke. I personally would go for just the Cyclone for ease of use. It’s all set up for cylinder keys and mortice mortice keys, where as with the tempest, it is a smaller machine but you have to change the blades and recalibrate when you want to change from cylinder to mortice keys. that's a cracking set up you have I have a berlingo but the normal size and I'm struggling with the size so feel your pain but fair play you have that well organised like them stack draws what's the width size if you don't mind me asking? Just started watching your stuff, love watching lockies at work. Been at it for about a year or so but going to be doing some re-training with Seth soon. Only thing that sucks for me atm is I started just when van prices went through the roof so doing it out of a car atm. If you didn't have your car side would you be able to do it in a smaller vehicle ?

@@nisarkhan1526 Sure. You are looking at around £15K for tools and equipment but on top of that you need to allow for training and stock 👍🏼

That is a fair point! However I would of hoped that seeing the key tag every day up until they lose the keys would at least remind them who gave them the key tag in the first place 😀 and then it’s just a Google search away. It’s also useful if they just have a different lock issue and haven’t lost their keys 👍🏼 Thanks for watching

Hi Matthew. Glad you enjoyed the video. My compressor that I use for Van locks is petrol with 110v outlet. And in my van I have an inverter which converts the battery voltage to 240v. Thanks for watching 😊🙏🏼

Hey Mo. I would consider doing either Danny Gardiners 2 day introduction course in Horsham or Seth Ryden’s full 2 week course in Blackburn. What online auto locksmith course did you do?

I have been contemplating a career change for 2 years, was going to attend a locksmith course when the pandemic hit so i put it on hold. However I'm still interested in pursuing it, I was wondering if you think the locksmith courses are worthwhile. It seems there is a lot to cover including auto locksmithing. I'm also concerned about the start up cost, I'm guessing it's not cheap. Can you offer any advice re the above? Thanks

Hi Marvin. If you get the right locksmith course it’s definitely worth pursuing. I can highly recommend Seth of Fortress Locksmiths in Blackburn for a fantastic 2 weeks course here: www.fortresslocksmithtraining.com And then I run a range of lock fitting courses myself here: www.lockswood.co.uk/training-courses/ I would personally just concentrate on domestic locksmithing for now which will keep the costs down massively! Auto locksmithing is COMPLETELY different and requires completely different tools which can be very expensive. To become a domestic locksmith including training and some tools can be done for around £5-10k depending on how much you want to spend on tools. However, Auto locksmithing is way more expensive and you are looking upwards of £20-£25k to get trained and buy some of the equipment required. I hope that all helps buddy 👍🏼

I suspected as much when it comes to auto locksmithing, one thing at a time makes sense. I'm going to have a look at those links now. I'm a few months off making the jump but it's good to have somewhere that comes recommended and I've watched your work on your videos. Thanks again for the advice, I'm sure others will read it too and will find it helpful.

You're living my dream. I wanted so badly to be a mobile locksmith. I took a course and was going through the apprenticeship process. But my crazy ex wanted more child support out of me and took me to court and I wasn't making enough money to afford a living and pay her on what I was making. So I had to quit and get a factory job that I hated. But now I'm too old to start again and I'm now an interstate truck driver.

It's a tough job and I hate it sometimes, but it pays well and I have too many expenses to just quit and have to start off as an apprentice making low wages. But I find locksmithing very fascinating. Thats why I watch KZbin videos about it.
