I put lights on a tree and that's it. No outdoor crap except a modest wreath on the door. No plastic feather boas wrapped around my mail box. No blow up anything. My outdoor floodlights only get turned on when I am entertaining family outdoors. I don't like most people, even the ones I supposedly like. That said, I love Christmas carols, not that indecent bluesy crap. It's Christmas, for God's sake! And people are singing about seducing Santa! WTF! I now need to go wash my ears out with napalm. {{SHUDDER}} I can't deal with that. My favorite is Kathleen Battle singing Handel's Messiah with The Mormon Tabernacle Choir. As for Hannukah, my best friend, who passed away from cancer, was Jewish. I had another friend who is devout catholic. We had lively, spirited discussions, without malice.

Jesus would have wanted his birthday to be remembered as a time when rich people had a great time and poor people were thought of as worthless pieces of shit. Reason 1 why I think Christmas is a despicable, evil holiday. You are heavily mistaken if you think I give a shit about presents. I'm a 30 year old adult, there is nothing on earth that I want. Only little kids want toys for Christmas and yet I see so many full grown adults buying ipads, iphones, video game consoles for their supposedly adult spouses. The number one reason why Christmas sucks is that everyone has this miserable fucking look on their faces. As if they're all running around doing errands and preparing for something they truly don't want to do. You're too old to receive presents. Christmas is for kids. Can you imagine a adult man going out in a costume with a pillow case collecting candy door to door every October 31st?? You know what I'd like to see more than anything? A holiday that people truly enjoy and look forward to celebrating. When Christmas becomes like that again, I will acknowledge it again.

I think Lewis Black is a great comedian. I love all his routines. Except this one. The idea was funny but it came off as ignorant and he took it too far. I hate what Christmas has become too, but this was bad. I know he's an angry comedian and he says 'fuck' a lot. And I love it. But I give this routine a FUCKING zero.

It depends on the material. Lewis' on-stage persona is supposed to be a short-fused, "I hate everything", pessimist - so it works. But yes, there are some comedians that cuss every 5 seconds, just for the sake of it, and it sometimes comes off as trashy.
