For me Shadows of Evil was one of my favorite maps I had tried. I also was 15 years old and got an Xbox One that Christmas. Going from playing Shadows on last gen to next gen was a mind blower. I loved the atmosphere, the music, the new boss, the rituals, the colors, to me everything about that map was perfect. Getting Pack-A-Punch was also extremely easy and I feel like a lot of people were complaining zombies got too “overcomplicated”. I felt like they found the perfect balance of the classic zombies experience, along with having an objective. There is SOO much to do on the map.

Endless hours of survival while watching tutorials from mrroflwaffles, hyping up new dlcs, finding new secrets on each new map for more lore, speculating with the rest of the internet on what's going to happen next.. those were some amazing times in my life. Because Shadows was not casual friendly. And at launch the Giant could only be gotten through the season pass I believe. Why they didn't just include the Giant in the base game will always confuse me. BO1 and 2 had map options for casuals and hardcore players(Kino/Five)(Bus Depot,Farm, and Town/Tranzit). So I'm sure most people who hated it were casuals who were rightfully pissed that there was no casual map option in the base game. Aside from Dead Ops Arcade 2
