Thanks for bearing with me and my hectic work schedule lately. The throttle cable install went really well and only took about 2 hours with filming, so it should be a quick project for anyone out there looking to do the same thing.

Fully Spooled was just looking for an LS substitute they're almost impossible to find for cheap
@calvindiehl96956 жыл бұрын
jeff that thing under the pedal is called a accelerator pedal position switch/sensor it sends a signal to the collision system traction control an cruise control systems you no longer need as you have ripped everything else out as i have done on my 92 sc300
@FullySpooled6 жыл бұрын
Some people have mentioned it's the kickdown switch for the transmission to downshift when accelerating. Either way I won't need the switch, but I'm going to keep it there as a pedal stop in the meantime.

Great video, Ive used several of Metalteks products on several ls build in my shop. Quality parts, and the actual guy when I call for assistance. He does all my harnesses, engine mounts, coil brackets, etc.

Thanks for the comment! The bracket fit perfectly and I don't see there being any issues with it. Great option for people with an LS2 intake manifold. Great price too.

Great video! I believe that is Lexus' version of a kick down cable. I just epoxied mine to make a solid pedal stop.

Ahh, thanks Glen. Great to know. I guess I will be doing the same thing.

Hey Jeff I just discovered your channel a couple days ago and have watched almost all of them! You're doing a fantastic job and it looks like the LS is a natural fit in the SC ! I have a nice clean 92 SC400 same colour as yours that is getting kinda boring but you've inspired me to start planning an LS swap. I just subbed and will look forward to future vids.
@FullySpooled7 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for the comment! Glad you're getting some inspiration. The LS fits really well in the SC chassis. Hopefully I'll have my first startup pretty soon here. Good luck with your swap!

That Pedal stop is a 2 stepper kick down for the old Auto Gearbox XD they are quite fun, keep up the good work Jeff its coming along nicely!
@FullySpooled7 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Good to know. I wonder if I could wire that to something more fun now that I won't be using an auto gearbox.

Great informative video keep them coming but I have a quick question why did u say ur waiting on ur ecu to adjust ur throttle cable I’m almost done with mine swap literally now in the dbc part what should I do to be the correct way I already have my ecm flashed
@FullySpooled6 жыл бұрын
John Paul Garrido you want to make sure your throttle position reads 0% when the pedal is all the way up (no throttle) and 100% when the pedal is all the way down (full throttle). I used HP Tuners to read my throttle position at the very end of my most recent video if you want to check that out to see what I mean. If you trim your throttle cable too short, it might not read 0% when the pedal is up, and if you have it too long it might not open the throttle to 100%. Helps to be able to read the percentage with something like HP Tuners.

Got so wait to I hook up the hardness so the computer can recognize and set itself correctly
@FullySpooled6 жыл бұрын
John Paul Garrido no, it won’t set itself. You need to trim the cable in small segments until it reads 0% at zero throttle and 100% at full throttle.

Another enjoyable video! My car has one of those little bumpers on the pedal stop, too. While someone else in the comments identified that it actually does something, I always figured it was just there to make going to WOT feel cooler, like reminiscent of the "emergency power" stops on WWII fighters or something. Learn something new every day.
@FullySpooled7 жыл бұрын
Yeah I learned too! I had no idea it was for the auto transmission kickdown. Seems unnecessary since so many other cars don't need a switch there. It does feel cool mashing it with the pedal though.
@dokktekk7 жыл бұрын
That black switch under the gas pedal tells the auto trans to drop a gear when you mash that pedal to the metal. You can remove it if you like. Thanks for the new video, can't wait to see your car all done. This whole series is really inspiring me to do the same to my SC400. Just gotta figure out a way to make it street legal after. ;-)
@FullySpooled7 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, this car will never be street legal again, especially in California. There are ways to go about making it street legal if you have the time and patience. It'll just require a lot of trips to the state Ref and the DMV. Thanks for the note on the gas pedal. I'll leave it there for now and remove it if it gets in the way.

Nice. Haven't actually seen someone do that much custom work on a throttle connection before. May be very helpful for me in the future. Great video as always.
@FullySpooled7 жыл бұрын
Yeah I haven't really seen much out there for this either. It's not really a glamorous part of an engine swap so people sweep it under the rug. It's pretty important though.
@jaluna067 жыл бұрын
Great vid. Thanks for the shoutout. I was thinking on your throttle cable adjustment at the TB you could just slide that brass piece up and down to get the correct tight cable without having to cut any excess off. The excess would just point back at the firewall, just to get a better idea. Cant wait for the wiring episode. I have seen so many ways of people doing it and cant wait to see you way.
@FullySpooled7 жыл бұрын
Yeah there are a few options for the adjustment of the cable. I just want to see what the TPS is reading before I start doing anything permanent. Wiring will come soon. I just need the time to get it all done correctly. No half-assing stuff that could cause a fire. At least that's the plan. Thanks for sending your pics and info!
@FullySpooled7 жыл бұрын
I just reread your comment. So slide the brass piece up the wire instead of cutting the end off. Gotcha. The only issue with that is it will make it harder to remove the throttle cable in the future if the wire is all bent up. I'll give it a shot though! Thanks.

Do you have pictures or a video of what you did for a cold air intake setup?
@FullySpooled5 жыл бұрын
Yep, right here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5OloJWdfJh7jbM It's technically not a true cold air intake yet since it still draws air from inside the engine bay, but I have plans to either build a box for it or add a pipe straight down so the filter hangs in front of the passenger wheel.

Hey is the v8 out of a Lincoln ls any good
@FullySpooled7 жыл бұрын
It really depends on what year and model Lincoln it's coming out of. There are a lot of good and some bad Ford engines, but I'm not an expert on Fords so I can't really help much without doing a lot of research.
@zombielovedome25637 жыл бұрын
Fully Spooled thanks guy was selling super cheap early 2000s Lincoln ls was just thinking if is was worth getting I have had no luck finding a verified running LS motor and just want to get started on car but have no info on this motor
@zombielovedome25637 жыл бұрын
PS your the man for getting back to me thanks
@FullySpooled7 жыл бұрын
All I know about that engine is that it's 3.9L which is pretty small for a V8, and it's actually a Jaguar engine. It's also only 252hp stock and it won't have nearly the same aftermarket support that the Chevy LS engines will. I would hold out until you find a Chevy V8 if you want to do a V8 swap.
