Note that if your thermal fuse has blown, you should replace this thermostat, too, even if it passes continuity. The thermal fuse will only blow if this thermostat isn't doing it's job. Only replacing the fuse without fixing the problem will just lead to it eventually tripping again!

It is possible to get to the thermostat via the exhaust outlet - you can reach it one handed.

Martha Honey it is much easier as well than doing all this crap

Oh definitely, just be patient and do it slow. No way I'd go through all this for 2 little screws.** Also there's a capped exhaust port in the lower rear of the dryer too if you need extra room!

that is what I did as well.. took 5 minutes.. bit tricky lining up the screw driver, but beat taking the whole thing apart.

You just have to take front off, then there is 4 screws holding the elements in place, pull it out nice and easy and replace it like that. Saves a ton of time. At least that was the case with mine

How do you determine which, or if a thermostat is failing? My LG Electronics TRONN Electric Dryer starts and runs for 10-15 seconds then stops. No indications on the display- everything looks normal but the motor isn't running. After 30-seconds or so, it starts running. For 30 seconds or so. It will repeat this for the whole time cycle. The clothes are warm but not dry. I start the dryer again, and after an hour of start/stop cycles, the clothes finally are dry. What is most infuriating is that sometimes it runs normally with no start/stops. I don't want to take the dryer apart without a clue what I am looking for. (I am suspecting a thermostat, but if anyone has a clue, I would appreciate a tip). Thanks

Same here in December 2018. How did you solve it? Did the high-limit thermostat and thermal fuse replacements work?

How do I know which is the positive and negative terminals on the thermostat. Is it possible to ruin it if I install the wrong way?

It doesn't matter, it's a switch loop

Question: I got a new heating element for my LG dryer, but still didn't have heat. I did have a bad motor so decided to replace that as well. The motor works fine, but still no heat. I took it apart again to look around and make sure that I wired everything up correctly. When I look at this part (the rear thermostat), I have 3 terminals on it but only 2 wires (one which is going from a terminal on this to another terminal on the heating element). I hooked the other wire on the opposite terminal from the pre-wired cable. Is this a problem that I an empty terminal on this part?

According to the part replacement video on the part there are two white wires on the double terminal and one red one on the single terminal.

+tonepoet did you ever get the two prong thermostat to work?
@tonepoet9 жыл бұрын
+Twanhines I didn't. I tried everything that I could; tried to dig up the right resources and service manuals but nothing was every noted about anything like that. Do you have the same issue? I tried for about 2 months to make it work (ordering new parts) and I took the thing apart no less than 10 times (I got really good at it), but never made it work or figured out why. Explanations for this don't seem to exist (that I could find). In the end, I had to buy a new dryer (and washer as well). I'll say this, I ordered the parts from Repair Clinic and they were outstanding with the returns.

Good video but Jesus fucking Christ, you have to take the entire goddamn machine apart and reassemble it just to replace a lousy thermostat
