@@Entertainment-ev6ob you're right but it's LG's intention to have the G1 compete with Sony and Panasonic. You, the videophile world and I know that LG isn't competing with either Sony or Panasonic flagship. They'll still get more people to buy theirs because most people don't want the best. They want bang for their buck which is how all these 💩y Chinese tvs sell so many. TCL, Vizio, Hisense all cater to the mainstream who are ok with a picture on screen. They could care less that their tv is so inferior across the board. That's where the majority of LG customer base is. They are willing to pay more for what they see is a premium product but again we know it is far from it. That's ok though there is a market for everyone. Great video ! I think the problem with mini led isn’t mini led itself but outside of tcl - no one takes it seriously . LG nerf it to make OLED look good - Samsung nerf their 4ks and are only looking at mini led as a temporary thing . The A90J is probably brighter on paper but I think evo panel is an intangible - it’s less bright on paper but much colour rich in reality and from what I’ve seen it’s less reflective . I know Panasonic is limited/virtually non existent in the USA but if you could get a HZ2000 from value electronics (or maybe a jz2000) and include it in your A90J vs G1 comparison would be absolutely great .

@@cestseb CX is worse than c9 and c9 is worse than c8 in many ways. They sacrifice features to add stuff to future models. C9 has 48gbs meaning Dolby vision 4k 120hz gaming. CX and c1 cannot do this since it’s 40gbs. C8 was 730 nits c9 700 nits CX 650 nits c1 most likely 600 and g1 750. Even though G1 should be 850 taking into account the 20% and c8 peak brightness. Not only is the brightness lowered though ABL is much more aggressive but Sony fixed this on A90j! Really proud of them for that. Hopefully G1 ABL is minimal. Also c9 has everything CX has but is just more buggy since it’s first years hdmi 2.1. Also not everyone cares about gaming features only hardcore gamers do. Not even casuals, furthering gaming features DOESNT mean the TVs are increasing year by year there has been no drastic increase to anything since the c8 just tiny improvements

From watching other reviewers concerning the top OLEDS it's become apparent that the Sony A90J is the much brighter OlED , hitting 1,300 nits. The Panasonic JZ2000 might be up there as well in nits. If you're not a serious TV gamer and price is important than the G1 might be considered taking a hard look. Otherwise, the Sony and Panasonic OLEDS are the way to go. The only problem with the Panasonic OLED is you might have to order it sight unseen in that Value Electronics is the only outlet in the U.S. I'm aware of that carries them.

If you want to change motion smoothing settings, you need to disable the AI auto genre feature.

Think OLED burn in would still be a concern with this tv?
@majorkursk7803 жыл бұрын
You missed the fact that this tv comes with a slim wall mount bracket system, but Does Not included a set of stands for a placing on a table. That is available though LG for a extra $99 dollars. A big benefit of buying this model is that it comes with a 5 year factory warranty.

Very nice video Caleb thanks! I was very hyped by the Sony A90J but in Europe it will be 900€ more expensive than the G1. Waiting for your comparison to see if it really worth the extra money.
@lvlechanicalMan3 жыл бұрын
Don't sleep on the A80J, especially if gaming isn't a priority. The G1, A80J and A90J all have the same panel. The A80J is largely the same as the A90J, minus the heatsink.
@thefrenchgoonergaming3 жыл бұрын
@@lvlechanicalMan I agree, but I am playing quite a lot and I am a movie enthusiast. Money is not really the problem, even though the Sony picture and sound look a bit better I just want to make sure it worth the 900€ difference which doesn’t seem to be the case...
@MechaGodzilla3 жыл бұрын
@@thefrenchgoonergaming Other than the higher peak brightness, the heatsink might help extend the lifespan of the panel and make it more resistant to burn-in. Personally, that's the main thing that makes the A90J appealing to me.

To disable motion interpolation in Dolby Vision Cinema Home, “Auto Genre Select” needs to be disabled. At least that’s what it’s called on last year’s models, and was the reason why you couldn’t change the TruMotion setting. I believe you even made the same comment in last year’s CX or GX review lol.

I know Caleb is pro OLED and that is fine but can anyone tell me what is his favorite tv outside of the OLED family? Mini-led, qled, Nano or whatever? My living room is very bright and do not want to darken it with black type curtains as I have a nice view. OLED's are supposedly not a good fit for my type of environment so that is why I ask the question.
