@@Entertainment-ev6ob you're right but it's LG's intention to have the G1 compete with Sony and Panasonic. You, the videophile world and I know that LG isn't competing with either Sony or Panasonic flagship. They'll still get more people to buy theirs because most people don't want the best. They want bang for their buck which is how all these 💩y Chinese tvs sell so many. TCL, Vizio, Hisense all cater to the mainstream who are ok with a picture on screen. They could care less that their tv is so inferior across the board. That's where the majority of LG customer base is. They are willing to pay more for what they see is a premium product but again we know it is far from it. That's ok though there is a market for everyone. But yes G1 can't compete with Sony or Panasonic, PERIOD!

@@indianhomegymequipment3424 hey dude. Tbh, I haven't tried a lg C1. However, I LOVE the hands free voice control. It's so awesome saying 'hey LG, turn off the screen' and then it goes audio only mode etc. I got the g1 because it uses about 60% of the power that the c1 uses, which means the pixels run less hard, and therefore the tv is much less likely to get burn in as that was my main concern. If you an find a good deal, I would highly recommend getting it, but if not, c1 looks exactly the same and you won't see a difference. Just features basically that differ the two models

I have experienced the difference, and I will never sacrifice vrr for quality. Anyway, the g1 has better quality than the a80j. I rank it like this 1st. A90J 2nd. LG G1 3rd. LG C1 4th. A80J If you can get the G1 for the same price as the C1, it's a no brainer. Let me know how you like it. Hope this advice helps.

Great video ! I think the problem with mini led isn’t mini led itself but outside of tcl - no one takes it seriously . LG nerf it to make OLED look good - Samsung nerf their 4ks and are only looking at mini led as a temporary thing . The A90J is probably brighter on paper but I think evo panel is an intangible - it’s less bright on paper but much colour rich in reality and from what I’ve seen it’s less reflective . I know Panasonic is limited/virtually non existent in the USA but if you could get a HZ2000 from value electronics (or maybe a jz2000) and include it in your A90J vs G1 comparison would be absolutely great .

Great review. Would definitely like every bit of detail about the game mode that you can give us. My focus on gaming is the primary reason why I expect the G1 to be the better TV for me over the A90J but more info as well as reviews on the A90J will help me with that decision. A90J not getting the VRR until the end of 2021 is a bummer for sure.

@@Entertainment-ev6ob why lol? The cx has vrr hdmi 2.1 and isn’t worse than the c9 or c8 lmfao
@Entertainment-ev6ob
@Entertainment-ev6ob 3 жыл бұрын
@@cestseb CX is worse than c9 and c9 is worse than c8 in many ways. They sacrifice features to add stuff to future models. C9 has 48gbs meaning Dolby vision 4k 120hz gaming. CX and c1 cannot do this since it’s 40gbs. C8 was 730 nits c9 700 nits CX 650 nits c1 most likely 600 and g1 750. Even though G1 should be 850 taking into account the 20% and c8 peak brightness. Not only is the brightness lowered though ABL is much more aggressive but Sony fixed this on A90j! Really proud of them for that. Hopefully G1 ABL is minimal. Also c9 has everything CX has but is just more buggy since it’s first years hdmi 2.1. Also not everyone cares about gaming features only hardcore gamers do. Not even casuals, furthering gaming features DOESNT mean the TVs are increasing year by year there has been no drastic increase to anything since the c8 just tiny improvements

For sure, the UI has gotten WORSE on these newer LG OLEDs. Been rocking a C8 for a while, recently picked up an LG C1 for that 120fps 4K goodness.. The newer TV performs and looks great, loving the VRR! But there is far more clunk in the new UI. Feels like they buried options which make the TV perform better, on purpose, for some reason. Perhaps lessen burn-in concerns? (energy saving option was much harder to find, and turn off, for example). In any case, I can confirm, the newer UI is a step back in user friendliness..

Is there any tinting on panel? All the talk of great PQ on OLEDs, and last year I returned 2 CXs because of pinkish and bluish tinting. Can PQ be really that great if TV is incapable to produce white color on all the screen? On both sets atlest 50% of panel was tintend with pink or blue color. I want to buy OLED, but now im afraid to do so because of tinting issues.

I think OLED king on black still. Mini moving in on black but brightness still to LED. I have both TCL 6 series (2020) and LG cx 55 OLED. The TCL is amazing on its own, the LG is just a step blacker, color accuracy, gaming. I like them both for small different reasons. The competition is good for us. Thanks so much DT.

Great review Caleb thanks. I wish LG would have came out an 83 inch olwd with the Evo panel. Sony A90j 83 inch is priced insanely high (rumored 8k) and even though the quality is a step up, that step has decrease each year with LG improvements. I hope micro led put the squeeze on everyone cause competition is a win for the consumers. Oled will remain the champ for a bit longer me thinks.

Thanks for the review! How would this TV compare to the CX line with regard to quality/price? I mean, it's obviously a step forward, but how little should be the price ratio G1/CX to justify the extra cost for a typical usecase (mostly netflix movies)? Would you buy G1 if it were 20% (10%, 30%, etc.) more expensive than CX?

I think The A90J will be superior to the G1 in both overall picture quality and sound. As for MiniLED beating OLED, It seems only TCL with OD Zero has a chance, given that the early Samsung reviews are mostly unflattering.

From watching other reviewers concerning the top OLEDS it's become apparent that the Sony A90J is the much brighter OlED , hitting 1,300 nits. The Panasonic JZ2000 might be up there as well in nits. If you're not a serious TV gamer and price is important than the G1 might be considered taking a hard look. Otherwise, the Sony and Panasonic OLEDS are the way to go. The only problem with the Panasonic OLED is you might have to order it sight unseen in that Value Electronics is the only outlet in the U.S. I'm aware of that carries them.

To disable motion interpolation in Dolby Vision Cinema Home, “Auto Genre Select” needs to be disabled.
