zadose except they're not lies, they're out of place truths. "Women need to get paid the same amount as men." If this line were in a speech about the wage gap people would scream "yes, women make so much less than men and need equality!" The sentence itself is true, but context is important seeing as how the gap isn't as simple as "men are paid more." No one is lied to, we're just informed in a manner that makes us put two ideas together in the wrong order.

@@tyrone5619 There is absolutely nothing prideful about the confederate flag. All it represents is either A). The four year period where the south was in open rebellion against the North, solely and squarely so they could perpetuate the enslavement of black people, or B). the several decades afterwards where it was used to represent the KKK, a group that brutally terrorized and killed black people. i think it's because what we label as "Liberal" is an economic POV, where what we call "conservatives" is more about society. Whant i mean is like, you can place politician in a graph opposing Progressives (pro-choice, for gay mariage) to Conservatives (pro-life, against gay mariage) verticaly; and oppose Liberals (free market) to Protectionists (controled market). So for exemple in France, there was a debate about JL Melanchon and B Hamon should ally for the presidency run bc they had similar POV. Well they did not, Melanchon is a progressist protectionist (he's a socialist); where Hamon is a progressist liberal (he's a social democrat like Sanders in the USA). Also liberal is not just economics, it can also be used to talk about progressists, but in that way it's more clear, because some ppl would be liberal liberals, and other liberal conservative, and other conservative consevative. So it's like fkd up in my opinion. That way we can divide and place each politician in clearer labels. Other exemple, still in france, M. Lepen is a conservative protectionist and JL. Melanchon is a progressist protectionist, a lot of medias saw them like they had similar opinions because they were both what you'll call conservative here, but the fact melanchon is progressist (so liberal conservative according to the video label) means a lot because he is a socialist, and lepen is a far-right, alt-right, fascist whatever piece of shit. Again it's my POV but since there i could've solved for myself the shitstorm "right and left" is bc a lot of ppl find it doesn't make sense anymore as i do, try this way and it seems clearer. For me here it's progressist against conservatives, but all capitalists, that's why it doesn't make sense because they say liberalism is more humanity, since when destroying the planet and make child work in mines is a more humanistic way of thinking lol

Yes! I got into an argument with a vegan one time and she believed that "if you aren't vegan you can't be an animal lover or an environmentalist" I got so mad. I mentioned, what about people with diet disorders? And they responded basically by saying those people can just get over that by taking supplements or meds and came off as not believing in diet disorders or other health issues. I told my friend about it, who is on a very strict diet due to their health and eats mean. they tried to go vegetarian for a year, but during that time frequently fainted and was constantly and extremely weak. Another response by that vegan was "pet lovers and animal lovers are different. If you have a cat or dog and you eat meat, you hate animals and loving pets are different from loving animals." Which didn't make any sense... She also thought her word was law because I quote, "I've been vegan before I was born. So anything you say is invalid." Overall she came off as rude and personally attacked me saying I was stupid because I disagreed with her. Of course, she doesn't represent all vegans, but man, people who believe that is wow... It's impossible to be a perfect human so what qualifies someone to be a perfect vegan? I don't care what your diet is, but if you're a rude person, you are a rude person.

I’m conservative but I’m a sucker for civil dialogue between the two major parties

I think it's getting easier and easier to have these discussions as the political fatigue wears on. Though I've always tried to have these discussions where possible.

i stand in the middle between these two. in my opinion it’s better to look at both sides before you make a decision/opinion, because extremes are always bad.

You guys should do vegans vs meat eaters!!
@elly-maehall6386 жыл бұрын
That would be an interesting conversation, but alas... common ground might be harder to come by. The two are night and day.

Please no.. A vegan will never respect eating meat, so there won't be any middleground..
@Dave-iz6lh6 жыл бұрын
Anonymous715 Bitch please there are plenty of meat eaters who hate vegans like shit too. Don't act like only one side is terrible
@Anonymous-cq5dl6 жыл бұрын
Dave - I'm vegan actually, so no I don't think the vegan side is terrible lol.. I just know that most of us vegans don't respect eating meat. I respect people who eat meat, but not their ACTION of eating meat. I bet any ethical vegan will agree.

Thinking the same thing here. This section actually wasn't too bad because the speakers for the most part weren't blatantly expressing their beliefs. But yeah, for most comment sections of Middle Grounds people always pinpoint that one person and attack them over and over again. Like, just because they are rude, does that give you the right to as well? Imagine being that person? :/ I think that's what you mean, at least.

That question about not complaining if you didn’t vote, I was too young to vote at the last presidential election and I will still be in this one. I will complain because I did not have a chance to make my voice heard
