Theory I heard about the plane noise was that it was one of the automated safety recordings that had a bunch of dead air followed by the noises, so they've played it at the start of the flight then eventually after the dead air it started making the noises. It apparently happened on a few different flights

I didn't know you started a podcast AGAIN! I just heard in this week's Triforce that Lewis has a podcast with Simon and hopped right on my favorite podcast app to find it. Yay! I always loved the old episodes before Triforce was Triforce, especially the Halloween episodes. I hope I'll find some of that old flavor there. Simon has a rare type of humour I can appreciate :)

The PA-System in airplanes is not connected to anything so that it could be hacked. You could technically know where the cables are and hardwire a device into it, but it would be very obvious since you'd need to remove a bunch of linings. So the prankster sitting next to the interphone or a speaker error are most likely.
